Chopping away at the tree with a smile on his face, makoto came to the realization that the tree was going to be falling soon and decided to move slightly away. Even after that, he lifted the axe out of the tree and swung it at the trees base again. The base of the tree was now to the point where a well-placed shove could knock it over, but he was going to chop away at it until it was going to fall down and he was going to get rich… but he needed to take one last break.

Placing the head of the axe on the ground for the last time on this training exercise, makoto sighed and smiled as he looked up at the tree that had provided him with blissful shade. But makoto was sad that it was going to end with one last perfectly placed swing to the base of the tree, or a few badly placed ones. But makoto had complete and total faith that he could knock this tree down with one swing of the axe… hopefully he was right about that…

Toshi smiled as he shook his head and cleared his thoughts. He looked around to see what the others around him were doing. The older guy that walked in that hadn't said anything yet still seemed to be meditating, or he was napping. It was hard to tell since it always made him sleep to meditate. Makoto was chopping down a tree, well getting there. Urza and Miyako were having a reunion. While Hoshi seemed to be working on her chakra. He was slightly afraid of her. Genjutsu users always made him tense and worried. He closed his eyes and let his chakra slowly drift out from around his body. He attempted to use less dense chakra than before, testing to see where the perfect amount was. He attempted to change the wind but it went right through his chakra.

He smiled as he rubbed the back of his head laughing slightly. "Well you can't get it every time all the time huh Luna?" He shrugged and went back to training. He closed his eyes and began to focus more intently. He felt which way the wind was going and released his chakra into the air around him. He sat there not moving an inch as his chakra in the air grew thick. His lips played a smile as he manipulated the wind making it a slightly more sharp turn toward where the wind had originally come from. He smiled as he allowed his chakra to slowly to dissipate. He took a deep breath and laughed at another success. Luna rolled her eyes as he began to lick her paws and clean her face.

He yawned slightly as he felt the drain on his chakra. It wasn't minor by any means. It required a lot of chakra to him. Then again he was still young so in time he knew that he'd be able to do it as if it was nothing. He couldn't help but feel more confident after a recent success. He closed his eyes and focused as he gave it his all. He felt his chakra slowly building in the air around him. He pointed at the direction the wind was blowing and then spun his finger around before pointing the wind at the rack of weapons. He smiled as he heard them jingling. He opened his eyes and watched as he saw the weapons swaying and moving around. He released his chakra and smiled happily with a giant grin on his face.

Toshi laughed as he looked at Luna's face as she turned her attention to the weapons rack. He watched as her fur slowly returned to normal. He smiled and shook his head knowing that from the look she gave him that he was going to get attacked in his sleep. He scratched the back of his head as he took a deep breath. He watched the others around him and went back to his task at hand. He smiled as he released his chakra into the air around him. He focused more intently as his chakra bent the wind into a different direction. He bent it so it blew directly in his face. He took a deep breath as he could feel his chakra in the wind.

Spinning the axe around in his hands, makoto was being very careful with the swinging but he was also preparing for the greatest assault on the tree. Not really great but he had prepared to swing the axe, lifting it up and spinning it in the air. Makoto grabbed the handle and swung the axe as hard as he could at the base of the tree, blasting away at the base of the tree. The tree took the great blow and started cracking, the tree was now falling. “TIMBER!!“ Yelled Makoto just for a good time, he was going to enjoy the tree much more now.

After the tree had collapsed to the ground, makoto would take the moment to examine the tree and all of its branches. Making sure there were no animals or eggs that had been broken or killed, with luck on his side, he found no such notice that an animal or an innocent life had been taken. Finishing his looking, he started to feel the urge to make note of a few things. So he was taking note on how big the tree was, he was going to shave the branches off it first.

There were a lot of branches on this tree but most of them could make for a bokken or two, depending on the length and the size of the branch. Some of the branches look like they could already yield more than two or even three bokkens at once, it was a great deal that he had come across this tree when he did. He was trying to get the feel of the work force again before he started to chip away at the branches of the tree, he wanted to make sure his investments were not going to waste.

Twisting the axe that was in his left hand, Makoto nodded as he located a broken branch that was profit able. Taking note of it, makoto started to swing at it’s base. Chopping away at the base with the axe, Makoto sighed abit heavily as he walked over to it and got in a good place before swinging again. This time he was much closer to get a good cut out of it, making the branch a lot longer and more productive.

After makoto finished with the last chop, he placed the axe aside and moved the branch to the side, placing it down in a new pile he was going to make. This pile was going to be wood he was going to split in half, this branch alone looked like it could yield two. So he was going to try it out now, but he relaxed for a bit. He collected his axe but was not going to swing until he was in the mood to swing, luckly he was willing to wait as the day slowly turned into night.

Finally having the feel for it now, makoto sighed and smiled to himself. Placing himself in a perfect swinging pose, makoto started swinging to remove the head of the branch from the rest of his profit. Realization finally kicked in that he had enough wood in this branch to make 4 bokkens instead of two, two on the base and two were on the head of the branch, this made makoto smile as he chopped the smaller branches off, before he splatted the prime branches… he collected the 4 pieces of wood.

Examining the four of oak wood he had cut out from the branch, makoto placed the pieces of wood aside as he dropped the axe to move the lesser branches. This was enough lesser wood to operate the forge back home if they needed, but that was him and his thoughts on the matter. But it was good wood that he could also sell as well, but it was for burning wood. So he gathered them all into a good small pile, using one of the hundreds of matches he had on him as he made a small fire.

As the fire started, makoto moved the 4 fresh pieces of wood away before he identified another good looking branch that was broken. This branch was bigger than the last one and it was cracked only slightly, he was going to enjoy cutting it before it looked like it could possibly produce 8 bokkens with it alone. Raising the axe head up, he started to chip away at the larger branch as the fire behind him was making a nice cracking sound of fresh burning wood.

After the branch was completely cut off from the tree, makoto grabbed onto it and pulled it out of the tree and moved it around. Indeed there was enough to make 8 bokkens from this branch alone, but the tree looked like it could still produce a hundred… more or less. Shaking his head and looking back at the branch, he pulled on it again as he moved slightly and placed it down before relaxing. This was a very big branch he was carrying, could possibly produce more than just 8.

Stretching in the night and looking down at the branch, makoto started to do a harmless job and started to pull off the leaves and smaller branches that were less profitable. He pulling them off until he had a handful before dropping them into the fire, thankfully the wind was still and the fire was on a sandy ground. So he was not going to burn up the entire area, just the leaves and smaller branches that were worthless to him. But he did enjoy the warmth of the fire, before he got back to work.

Readying the axe for more chopping, makoto got back into place as he chopped the branch in half. He knew the measurements were perfect for a set of 4 bokkens , but the branch was still big enough for another chop. Chopping the head off the second piece of lumber, makoto came to the realization that he under estimated the wood again. It was going to be a touchy job, but after a moment of chopping, makoto was left with more than 8 pieces to make bokkens from… he had enough for a set of 11.

Holding onto the axe with a smile on his face, makoto started to chop away the branches on the tree that he found profitable and was slowly but surely starting to clear the tree of it’s branches. Makoto also chopped away the branches that didn’t have any value or profit to them, tossing them into the fire so he could have light to see what he was doing. He started from the bottom up, since the bottom where a lot longer and produced a lot of profit for him.

Makoto had finally finished chopping a fifth profitable branch off the tree, starting to shave it off all the other smaller branches on the 5 profitable ones. There were a lot of smaller branches on the bigger branches then he realized, but they made good fuel for the fire. Finishing with the full shaving of the 5 branches, makoto started to chop them all in half. He removed the head of the branch and decided some were good to keep, the other heads went into the fire as fuel.

Makoto smiled as he saw the pile of 13 chopped pieces of wood in front of him, there was enough there to make a good pair of 4 bokkens per log. Makoto smiled but sighed as well, looking over to the fire and watched it for a moment. He was thinking about the profit his bokkens would make him then thought that he was doing something right, for himself and his new family… maybe even for Airi. It was already on his mind, makoto swear under his breath as he returned to work.

Lifting a log up and placing it down, makoto prepared himself as he chopped the log in half. He was so going to enjoy himself now, but he was hoping that he was not going to mess up. But he chopped it as perfectly as he could, making it into four pieces of one long… perfect length and width. He continued to chop the others into the same perfect measurements, he admitted some were not perfect but it did not hurt the wood enough to make him want to throw them into the fire.

Hoshi pushed the last attempt completely out of her and brought up her hands back to their position. She then made a handseal and started to build up the chakra in her system. It only took her about a second to build up some chakra. She smiled and continued to build the chakra up in her system. She continued to do this until she thought she had a good amount of chakra built up in her system. She kept the chakra built up for a few seconds and eventually dropped the handseal and felt the chakra dissipate. It gave her a good feeling again and she was happy. Hoshi smiled softly and just like the good attempts, she kept this one in her head to give her some confidence and encouragement.

Hoshi thought about the last attempt and what she did correctly as she quickly brought up her hands. She then made a new hand seal to focus her chakra. After doing the first few things she figured that she was ready. She smiled softly and started to try and build up the chakra in her system. It took her a matter of seconds to realize that it wasn't happening. It was a feeling that she was some what getting used to. She kept a smile going however because the last attempt still made her happy. Hoshi laughed this attempt off and just let her hands drop to her sides. She wasn't even going to bother pushing the experience out of her head because she could think about what she had possibly had done wrong on this one.

Hoshi sighed softly but, kept her smile going. Her hand silently fell to her sides and she got ready for this new attempt. She thought that she might be able to do it this time but, she really just needed confidence. Which she had managed to get, well for now anyways. She even made her smile a bit bigger. Hoshi brought her hands back up in front of her and she made a handseal. She then quickly started to build up chakra. It took her a second or two but, she was able to build up some chakra in her system. This made her even happier as she was satisfied with her success so far. Even though there was some bumps in the road, she was happy with herself. She wasn't even close to her goal of at least training five things.

The training was going good so far for Hoshi. She smiled softly and let her hands go down to her sides as she wanted to get started with another attempt as fast as possible. She smiled as she felt her chakra dissipate again. That feeling was always a some what happy feeling for Hoshi. It made her feel good. However she had to continue training. Hoshi smiled softly and brought her hands back up. She then quickly made a handseal as her hands came up. Hoshi was ready to build up some chakra but when she looked down at her hands, she realized that she had messed up the handseal once again. Hoshi was somewhat disappointed with herself but, she didn't let it show at all. She just laughed it off and this time she fixed the problem. She just needed to make sure not to mess up and she would be fine. She realized the problem she was having and she fixed it. There was really nothing to it.

Approaching the tree, makoto smiled as he spun the axe in his hand like a pro before striking the tree’s branches. He was making his way up to the second tier; they were going to produce some but not a lot of wood now. He started by chopping off all the little pieces on the tree, throwing them into the fire so he could continue to have more light. With enough light now, he could see that he still had a lot of littler branches to take care of… so he continued.

Finally hacking off the entirety of the smaller branches of the second tier of branches, makoto was pleased to see that there was still enough wood to make a brand new batch of bokkens. There was not going to be as much as the first tier, but he was going to make it quick as he was getting tired now. Chopping off one the bigger branches, makoto started to chop the branch in half before he started to split it into four pieces. It all went well in the end.

Hoshi looked at her hands and smiled softly and she quickly made a few handseals just to warm up for a new attempt. It was also to make sure that she didn't mess up a handseal. It was pretty embarrassing for her when she did mess up. She figured that it could be much worse but, after she had gone through a few handseals she knew that she was ready. Hoshi smiled and brought her hands together and made a new handseal. She then started to focus on building up her chakra in her system. It wasn't all that complicated of a thing to do. She had almost perfected the art but, she just had to build it up so that she had more chakra. She was able to build up a good amount of chakra up in her system and she was happy with this success. As she figured that any success is generally a good success. Hoshi smiled softly and broke the hand seal. She was happy still but she still had a bit to go before she was completely satisfied.

Hoshi looked around a bit as she looked at the other genin. She was somewhat surprised that there was so many people on the training field. She really hadn't seen this many people on the training field before but, it wasn't the most people on the training field she had seen before. She shrugged and looked at her hands. She smiled a bit and made a handseal. She made the hand seal as perfectly as she could but, it felt awkward to her. She wasn't sure why so she released it. When she released it, she realized that there was a bug on her hand. She laughed softly and gently put it in the grass. It was only a ladybug so she wasn't afraid of it or anything. If it was a spider she might have freaked out a bit and ran around but, that wasn't the case...this time anyways. Hoshi smiled as she watched the lady bug walked away from her. She realized that she had gotten distracted from her training and felt a little mad at herself but, she wasn't going to kill the bug. Hoshi giggled a little more and refocused herself so that she could get ready for the next attempt.

Refocusing herself took a lot longer then she thought it was going to take. She thought it was only going to take a second or two but, she was evidently wrong. She kept thinking about the lady bug and other animals. One of the animals that she kept thinking about was the dove, her favorite animal. She wasn't sure why she kept thinking about it but, she did. She always did love thinking and talking about doves but, not right in the middle of her training. She just some what sat there and thought about things. When she was done with one thought it would then lead on to another thought. By the time she had actually thought about the training, a few minutes had already passed. She was even madder at herself now as she had never loss focus this much. She sighed softly and slowly refocused herself on training and only training. It did take her a couple minutes but, she eventually was able to do it. She shook her head a bit and got ready for a completely new attempt. She was really surprised at herself for letting herself get so far off track.

Hoshi shook her head more and eventually was completely ready for a new attempt. She was still kind of mad at herself but, the anger was slowly going away as she thought about the new attempt that she was going to try. She smiled softly and brought her hands back up in front of herself. Hoshi then quickly made a hand seal. This time it was completely perfect. Then she went onto the next step of building up the chakra in her system. She smiled as she built up the tiniest bits of chakra but, she wasn't able to build up anymore then just a small, tiny bit. She sighed softly and was just a little bit disappointed with herself. She let her hands fall to her side and she shook her head in disappointment. She normally didn't have this much trouble in training but, she was. She had no idea why either. Hoshi sighed a bit more and she looked around. She laughed a bit and laughed off the attempt. She didn't need to feel bad. It could be worse she supposed.

Urza seemed very pleased with her friends answer. She had never gotten a chance to see one of these ninja weapons, but seeing as her best friend had a plan to be the master user of one, Urza decided it would benefit her to learn a bit. Urza was filled with a renewed vigor. The thought of being able to spar with her friends. It made Urza's blood flow and heart race. Urza quickly took a stab at the tree, knocking loose the axe that had been engulfed by the heart of the tree. Urza took a deep breath, furrowing her eyes as she focused.

The young girl listened to her friend as she felt the weight of her equipment through her whole body. Urza exploded with power as every muscle worked in tandum with her next attack. She felt a force behind it like she had never felt before. As if she had the strength of a rock giant. Able to bend trees with a flick of their wrists. Urza felt the lance pierce through the heart of the tree and burst out on the other side. As Urza withdrew her lance she looked at her handiwork. A whole now pierced right through the center of the tree. Still Urza was not satisfied. She was unsure if she ever would be. "And O'. How your voice like that of the world. The very darkness withdrew from it." Urza took a few deep breaths, taking a bit of a rest as she watched Miyako work on her puppet. It seemed everyone was doing there best to get stronger.

With the puppet now ready for a fight, she returned to her book, opening it to the page she had left off of. The words just seemed to dance around the page, not really making sense to her... she almost didn't care if they made sense or not. All she could think about was her spar against Urza. Of course, then she saw the spear almost split the tree in half. She looked at her puppet, Well at least I can make you again... or at least fix you up. She smiled as she ran her hand through the puppet's 'hair.' It was a beautiful creation, and she couldn't wait to show Urza what she was capable of.

She looked at the book again, the words, stopped dancing around, but she had this feeling deep in her gut. She just couldn't get her mind into reading at this point in time. She wondered if her puppets would ever be half as strong as Urza, and if she would be able to defend others like she could. Don't second guess yourself. No one can make these things like you can. You'll show them what you can do. Your strategy just involves more thinking than most. Pick up the book and read. She lifted the book and moved a strand of hair from her vision.
