SkyClan Territory

[Weary Druid]

SkyClan holds some of WindClan and RiverClan's former territory, so water voles, rabbits, birds, and various other creatures are on the menu. The Horse-Place lies in SkyClan territory, the large animals help scar off some intruders that travel too close to the large beasts, but their hay and other feed attract mice in the Leaf-bare.

Nightstripe continued her small journey, following the unfamiliar scents of other cats. She hoped that this would lead her to the new clan's camp. Nightstripe continued to follow her nose through the territory toward the camp.

Nightstripe sighed as she made it back into Skyclan territory. She thought that this new clan would be a bit more welcoming, but she thought wrong. They were all the same. No wonder she abandoned the Warrior Code. She didn't complain out loud though, instead Nightstripe just followed the way she took back toward Shadowclan territory.

Stepping lightly Silverstar scented the air, smelling some birds before she hear them, she also caught the stale scent of a rabbit that had crossed back into Windclan."What do you scent Briarpaw?" She looked at her apprentice with a twinkle in her eye.


The young she-cat scented the air. "Rabbit, but it's stale. There aren't any birds we can reach right now. There will be prey near the old horse-place. Nervously her whiskers twitched as she turned to look up at her mentor. The apprentice's eyes beamed as Silverstar nodded in agreement. "Yes, let's check there. We may have better lock on the way back, and there are birds near horse-place sometimes too."

Together Silverstar and Briarpaw padded off together until they got near horse-place. "Remember to avoid the horses, they get scared easily." She whispered to the young she-cat as they slipped into the warm. It smelled sweet from the hay and the scent of mice was everywhere.

Briarpaw spotted a plump little mouse as it nibbled on a piece of hay. She dropped into a crouch, her tail very still. Her paws slid forward as she stalked up to the mouse, her orange pelt blended well in the gloomy color of the hay. The mouse's head popped up and it took off. Frustrated Briatpaw gave a leap and managed to catch it by it's tail. She nipped it's spine and thanked starclan for the prey as she dropped it by the clan's leader. "Sloppy catch, sorry." Her pelt burned in embarrassment as she returned to hunting.

After several minutes they have three mice and a bird which had been resting just in their reach. It wasn't a huge haul but it would mean several cats got some good food.

Side by side they headed back to the main part of their territory where they covered their prey to hide it and went off to see if Cedarclaw had caught anything.

Cedarclaw spotted a squirrel on a low branch of a tree. Not being of true SkyClan descent, he couldn't jump as high as some of the other cats but he could manage this. He stalked toward the tree and leapt up, his claws snagging in the little creature's tail and throwing it to the ground. It lay there stunned. He leaped down after it and killed it with a swift bite to the neck.

Padding over lightly Silverstar let out a quite cheer. "Good kill Cedarclaw! That makes three mice, a bird, and a squirrel. Not a bad haul if I say so myself. Still we will send another hunting party out soon enough. We need to be well stocked any chance we can get."

The young silver tabby looked back at her apprentice. "You did good Briarpa-" Her apprentice was stalking off after something so she sat on her haunches and waited.

There was a good pause after the nervous apprentice disappeared. The squeal of a rabbit and the yowl of a young and angry cat filled the air. She came back empty pawed. "My foot slipped. I was so close too." She said shuffling her feet as she returned to her mentors side. The amused expression on the leader's face made her belt burn."That squirrel looks nice Cedarclaw, I bet the others will love it." She said quietly, grooming her pelts to cover up her frustration with the lost kill.

"Thank you" Cedarclaw nodded, looking faintly amused, "Don't worry Briarpaw, you'll catch the next one" He flicked the young cat's shoulder with his tail.
