Ummm...I don't really know. They're gym leaders of the same region and their towns are pretty close, so it's almost a given that they must at least know each other. It's more like there's nothing supporting it, but if you wanted to try to make it, there's a plethora of ways to do it. I actually was trying to brainstorm random yaoi pairings one day with a friend and suddenly I was like FALKNER AND MORTY!! Then I went online and was shocked it was an actual thing.

IT IS. But in all honesty, what logic does it follow? Besides being awesomesauce.

Logic? Sure. Canon? No.

But as far as logic goes: Their cities are very close to each other. Each city is the cite of a sacred temple. Morty is fascinated by Ho-Oh and Falkner trains birds. Falker is most comfortable in the sky, while Morty is drawn to the spirit world; both of them are slightly set apart from the normal world. Falkner is very rigid in his adherence t tradition, while Morty is very laid back.
There's a good yin and yang to it in my opinion.

I REALLY love AntagonistShipping (Surge/Sabrina). You guys know about the Gym Leaders Tournament, right? When Sabrina and Surge met up after Surge tied with Morty, they're talking, and then Sabrina says (in Viz) "I'm off..." and in that panel, their feet... It's a (questionable) kissing scene. I fell in love with the ship after that... Besides, their days in Team Rocket could be a GOLDMINE for fanfiction, fluffy or otherwise! Heeheehee... twisted 4laugh whee

I've got an odd attitude towards shipping in general. There are several ships I like and/or see as canon, many I'm indifferent towards, some I'm not crazy about but respect those who support them, and quite a few that I just find simply fascinating in concept.

But even so, there are three ships that unquestionably hold a special place in my heart and I gravitate towards more than others. Am I saying that they're superior to all other ships that may involve pairing any one of these characters with someone else? Not at all! Everyone's got their own opinions, and I'm not interested in debating canon or quality of one ship over another. These are just the three ships that never fail to bring a smile to my face at the mere thought of them, each for their own reasons.

So without further delay, these are my top 3 favorites Pokemon Ships/Couples:

PokeShipping (Ash Ketchum and Misty)

CommonerShipping (Dia and Platina Berlitz)

ColosseumShipping (Wes and Rui)

Though... even though I enjoy Comashipping... I'm convinced that Amourshipping will be CANON! Amourshipping: Ash x Serena or vice versa

I am honestly tied for first place with BOTH taking the gold trophy/medal or whatever prize there may be but I'm an equal fan of BOTH. Besides, Serena and Ash both have a history together and that makes them perfect for each other!! Honestly there's evidence in episodes to support Amourshipping being canon. heart

HELL freakin' YES!!!! Comashipping is awesome! It also ties with Amourshipping! Ash and Serena already have that chemistry whereas Misty just bullied Ash nonstop. Not compatible. Period. Some fan art shows that I can make exceptions. There is a comic series involving the old gang and of course, AshxMisty is in it but I tolerate it because of their kid. Honestly, Pokéshipping is kinda tolerable but I still mostly hate it because Misty was an a$$hole to Ash.
