Ili was many things, but a great deep thoughts kind of thinker, she was not, especially when such thoughts involved her personal life, she rather fancied herself a live by the seat of her pants kind of being. This probably exponentially complicated her life, but as she generally gave it little thought, never really occurred to her. The other thing that she couldn’t abide by, was sitting idly. It didn’t matter to her what she did, but she always liked to keep moving and busy. The lazy part of her life would come later, she always thought to herself, not really knowing for certain that she would ever get there.
Perched somewhat uncomfortably on the edge of a tall ball stool, Ili was bent over her work. Her body shifted with each swipe as she slowly and methodically chiselled at the piece of metal she was working with. Sitting up straight to study her work, she braced her hands on her lower back and stretched the tense muscles there before turning to study the pack on the floor next to her workbench. It had taken some doing, but she had managed to construct a portable turret gun that collapsed into a leather pack with the flick of a button. Her current problem was that the damned thing weighed close to three hundred pounds without ammunition and there was no way she would be able to carry it. Propping an elbow on the edge of the work space, she considered the pack.
It wasn’t as if the thing wasn’t usable, it just wasn’t probable for her to use. However, if she could shave off some extra metal somewhere, it would bring the weight down. Or if that wasn’t possible she wondered how expensive it would be to get her hands on a low mass synthetic that could stand up to the job. Crossing her right leg over her left, her right foot began to swing in irritation. Pushing herself around, she slid easily off the stool and landed lightly on the floor. Plucking a jacket off a hook near her barrack room door, she slung it over her shoulder and began meandering through the halls, corridors and other mysterious areas of the legion, looking for a distraction.

Pulling out drawers at random, she filled a gunny sack with gadgets she thought might be useful. Ili prided herself on her organised space, especially considering how much stuff was packed into a room so small. Someday soon, she should probably petition to the higher ups for a bigger space, really she’d be happy with a garage bay area all her own. However, that seemed to be easier to think about than actually do.
Shrugging she responded to Fu, while digging through yet another drawer, “It’s a bunch of technical stuff, and basically both the goggles and scope allow you to see in darkness. Speaking of which, how is your nigh vision? Will the goggles be something you’d like to use? They’re really simple; you just flip a toggle on the side of the goggles, drop them over your head and look through them. Really the most difficult part of using them is the additional weight to your head, makes you feel a bit top heavy and it requires a bit of getting used to. The only other minor drawback is that if someone turns a light in your direction or there’s sudden light, you can be momentarily blinded, however, that’s pretty much something you’d have to deal with even if you weren’t using them in the dark.”
Tugging her jacket into place, she placed her hands into the front pockets that were on either side of the zipper. Removing her hands, she showed Fu the pistol that she generally carried when she was outside the castle walls. “It’s perfectly alright if you don’t want to try them,” she agreed, “I guess I don’t have much else to rely on, so this is one of my greatest defensive and offensive weapons.”
With a rye laugh, she continued, “Somehow, with some of the more modernized areas, a bow doesn’t seem quite as effective.” She smirked. “Although, I’m not completely without options should I not have a gun.”
Standing still and quiet for a moment she considered her room with a quick scan. Satisfied that she had everything she needed, she tipped her head and thought about Fu’s last question. “Well, I’m not waiting for nightfall, so I was thinking that the best place to test these,” she said patting her gunny sack, “Would probably be in one of the cellars or dungeon rooms.”
((LOL! Looks like you get to move us again. And beware the goblins in the dungeon!))

*Darkhom had been reading the old tome for hours, lost in it's pages. Somehow, he still wasn't quite sure how, he knew pretty much every word of this ancient, dead language. But unlike the other tomes, this one contained little information on the other Dar'alus cities, or how to get to them. How was he supposed to get to the City of Light if he didn't know where the waypoint was?*
*Fu's knocking interrupted his thoughts, and he slammed the book shut, rubbing his eyes out of frustration* Yeah, what is it? *He grumbled, not really annoyed at her, just annoyed in general*
