Fu landed lightly on her windowsill, wiping sweat from her brow. The hours of practice had been arduous but she was finally seeing results with it.

"Maybe some day I'll get to the point where this technique becomes second nature to me. What do you think?"

She looked down at the little creature that took a liking with her in the forest the past couple of days. It was no bigger than a kitten, but it's tail was nearly as long as Fu's arm. It made some noises as it dis-entangled its tail from Fu's waist, sniffing the air as it explored her room. Fu couldn't help but chuckle.

"I hope that's a 'yes' fella. You go ahead and explore, I'm in the mood for something more than fruits and water.." She left the creature to itself as she disappeared, heading down to the kitchen for some food.

Fu walked into her room, surprised to find everything intact. Her new friend was curled up on her bed when she walked in, picking its head up only to acknowledge Fu came in the room. Fu walked over to it and scratched its head, smiling as it then stretched.

"I'm gonna be gone for a bit little buddy, and I'm not sure how long. M' gonna leave the window open for ya, kay?" It purred in response, so Fu left it at that to pack for their journey to the next realm.

Ili was many things, but a great deep thoughts kind of thinker, she was not, especially when such thoughts involved her personal life, she rather fancied herself a live by the seat of her pants kind of being. This probably exponentially complicated her life, but as she generally gave it little thought, never really occurred to her. The other thing that she couldn’t abide by, was sitting idly. It didn’t matter to her what she did, but she always liked to keep moving and busy. The lazy part of her life would come later, she always thought to herself, not really knowing for certain that she would ever get there.

Perched somewhat uncomfortably on the edge of a tall ball stool, Ili was bent over her work. Her body shifted with each swipe as she slowly and methodically chiselled at the piece of metal she was working with. Sitting up straight to study her work, she braced her hands on her lower back and stretched the tense muscles there before turning to study the pack on the floor next to her workbench. It had taken some doing, but she had managed to construct a portable turret gun that collapsed into a leather pack with the flick of a button. Her current problem was that the damned thing weighed close to three hundred pounds without ammunition and there was no way she would be able to carry it. Propping an elbow on the edge of the work space, she considered the pack.

It wasn’t as if the thing wasn’t usable, it just wasn’t probable for her to use. However, if she could shave off some extra metal somewhere, it would bring the weight down. Or if that wasn’t possible she wondered how expensive it would be to get her hands on a low mass synthetic that could stand up to the job. Crossing her right leg over her left, her right foot began to swing in irritation. Pushing herself around, she slid easily off the stool and landed lightly on the floor. Plucking a jacket off a hook near her barrack room door, she slung it over her shoulder and began meandering through the halls, corridors and other mysterious areas of the legion, looking for a distraction.

Fu waved off Darkhom and headed strait up to the barracks. Sleep was first in her agenda, and her bed was even more welcoming than she could have imagined. The sheets sucked her right into sleep as she flomped into them, finally able to really relax.

"Whuuuuuuuuuh..." Her eyes slowly opened, sleep still threatening to take her over. Her head lifted, looking out the window. "How long..?" Fu pulled herself up, popping and cracking nearly every bone in her body. "Damn... feels like I got run over by....something really big."

Fu got off the bed and stood up. Her legs were a little unsure at first, but she soon realized how much strength had come back. "Food." Making her decision Fu started off towards the kitchen, desperately in need of food.

Fu listened silently as they walked from the Kitchen to the barracks, trying to grasp everything Ili was saying. "Wow." She finally said. "I have to say that's a lot of stuff I've never heard of before, but I think I get what you're saying. Sounds easy enough to use. I hope."

Fu stood in the doorway as Ili rummaged around her room. "I'm...I'm not sure I want to try guns. Not yet anyway. I don't think I could do that right now.." She shifted her weight, leaning on the frame. "So, where do you wanna try this stuff out?"

((Whatever works, Ili ^^ Even tho I kinda just moved us here lol ))

Pulling out drawers at random, she filled a gunny sack with gadgets she thought might be useful. Ili prided herself on her organised space, especially considering how much stuff was packed into a room so small. Someday soon, she should probably petition to the higher ups for a bigger space, really she’d be happy with a garage bay area all her own. However, that seemed to be easier to think about than actually do.

Shrugging she responded to Fu, while digging through yet another drawer, “It’s a bunch of technical stuff, and basically both the goggles and scope allow you to see in darkness. Speaking of which, how is your nigh vision? Will the goggles be something you’d like to use? They’re really simple; you just flip a toggle on the side of the goggles, drop them over your head and look through them. Really the most difficult part of using them is the additional weight to your head, makes you feel a bit top heavy and it requires a bit of getting used to. The only other minor drawback is that if someone turns a light in your direction or there’s sudden light, you can be momentarily blinded, however, that’s pretty much something you’d have to deal with even if you weren’t using them in the dark.”

Tugging her jacket into place, she placed her hands into the front pockets that were on either side of the zipper. Removing her hands, she showed Fu the pistol that she generally carried when she was outside the castle walls. “It’s perfectly alright if you don’t want to try them,” she agreed, “I guess I don’t have much else to rely on, so this is one of my greatest defensive and offensive weapons.”

With a rye laugh, she continued, “Somehow, with some of the more modernized areas, a bow doesn’t seem quite as effective.” She smirked. “Although, I’m not completely without options should I not have a gun.”

Standing still and quiet for a moment she considered her room with a quick scan. Satisfied that she had everything she needed, she tipped her head and thought about Fu’s last question. “Well, I’m not waiting for nightfall, so I was thinking that the best place to test these,” she said patting her gunny sack, “Would probably be in one of the cellars or dungeon rooms.”

((LOL! Looks like you get to move us again. And beware the goblins in the dungeon!))

*Darkhom entered his room silently, moving to his desk and opening up the old tome with strict determination. He wasn't surprised at all to discover he could pretty much read the long forgotten language as easily as he could common, celestial, or any of the other languages he had learned over the years*

*He didn't really know what he was looking for, or what he was expecting to find. But the goddesses didn't seem to want him knowing what happened to the Dar'alus, as the was enough of a reason to keep searching*

Fu entered her room, still rubbing her hair dry with the towel. Her bandaged hands tossed the towel off to the side, figuring she'd clean it up later. She reached for the book on her nightstand and plopped onto her bed, flipping through the pages of the book she had snagged from her uncle's house a couple years prior.

She'd gotten better at reading the Silphaen language over the years, although since this was a book on their techniques, it didn't matter quite as much. She'd sporadically gotten the wind blade that Darkhom had tried teaching her, but didn't have much control over it; Fu hoped the book would help with that.

"Damn. They get so philosophical in this...how is it supposed to feel like a part of me if I can't figure out what part of me got it working?" She closed the book and sighed, as confused as when she opened the book earlier. "Hmm...Darkhom might know, but....he's probably studying the tome. Ach, I'll just knock and see if he's busy."

Fu got up and went down the hallway, stopping at Darkhom's room. The door was open but she knocked anyway. "Hey Darkhom, do you have a second? I have a question about the wind blade you were trying to teach me..."

*Darkhom had been reading the old tome for hours, lost in it's pages. Somehow, he still wasn't quite sure how, he knew pretty much every word of this ancient, dead language. But unlike the other tomes, this one contained little information on the other Dar'alus cities, or how to get to them. How was he supposed to get to the City of Light if he didn't know where the waypoint was?*

*Fu's knocking interrupted his thoughts, and he slammed the book shut, rubbing his eyes out of frustration* Yeah, what is it? *He grumbled, not really annoyed at her, just annoyed in general*

"Well I was letting off some steam in the Dojo and managed to slice through the punching bag like you'd tried showing me a little while ago. Problem is I've really got no idea how I did it since I was so focused on pounding away at it...so I was wondering if you had any insight on taking something instinctual you don't know how you tap into and...well tap into it."

You can't teach instincts. *Darkhom muttered, flipping through the other tomes he had collected* That's why they call them "instincts".

*He was too distracted to put any thought into her dilemma. None of the tomes contained the location for the waypoint he was looking for. He needed to think, but his mind was racing, trying to remember everything he had read in all seven massive tomes. It was too much information all at once. He needed to clear his head, to think about something else, anything else, even if just for a little while.*

*Maybe training Fu would help?* Come on, then. *Darkhom muttered, pushing past her as he headed towards the dojo.* If we can't teach it, we'll just have to force it.

Fu backed against the door frame as Darkhom moved past her. It was a couple of seconds before she followed after him, brows furrowed. Teach me instincts? I just wanna learn how to control them..

She shook the thought from her head, happy that he was at least helping her. I don't know how he deals with the Goddesses as much as he does...if the others are as unpredictable as Fujin and Raven I'd have gone berserk in his shoes. "So if we're going to be forcing this, I'm going to be getting my a** handed to me in a few minutes, aren't I?"
