Have to say linux mint always keeps me coming back. Started out on an asus eee pc, Model 701sdx, The one with the dumbed down xandros install. Went 'buntu 7.10 after that, Tried mint 7 and enjoyed it but my laptop at the time didn't handle it well. After that I went looking at a multitude of distros including but not limited to fedora, opensuse, vector, dream, And eventually ended up back at mint, Making the discovery XFCE worked alot better than gnome in terms of performance, And then LXDE even better. Been mint ever since. Currently loving the new cinnamon desktop now I have machines that can handle it. (Thank god U got rid of that dell craptop)
I suppose I should mention zorin OS, I was looking at that briefly a few months ago but I don't like paid distros so it went ignored as soon as I saw a price tag.
