His paws were begging to ache a little, the long travels of the day wearing on muscles that had had a good exercise this day. Not much had deterred the gentle wolf from his chosen path, something that was a bit of an enigma to him. Usually, he met at least one or two other wolves while exploring the land! But perhaps this day had been a lazy day and the others just hadn't be out and about? Or, by some rare chance, he'd found a path that lead him around the edges and outskirts of pack territories that were cropping up? Why, he'd begun noticing more and more as of lately! Something that was both exciting and a bit intimidating. Would they want to convince him to join them? Or would a wandering soul like his be left alone?

Ah, but those had been the thoughts occupying his mind this day, and as the sun was beginning to set, the temperatures noticeably dropping, Storm was ready to find a warm place to curl up. It had been a good day of travel, but that part of his soul that never seemed quite filled still ached as much as his paws.

Sighing, Storm glanced up towards the darkening sky, admiring the hues of pink and blue that chased each other. "Such a lovely array of color." He mused aloud, to not feel so alone. Giving himself a little shake, fur resettling, the white wolf looked around. "Hmm, I wonder where I shall stay this eve? Maybe a nice hare would share their hollow?" This thought, of course, made him chuckle.

Nose lowering to the ground, he began sniffing around. Whether he was seeking a hare to make such a request of, or looking for a small snack, was anyone's guess.

It had been a productive day, but it wasn't enough. He still felt like he was missing something, although what that could be was uncertain. Still, a hare dangled from his mouth as he trotted back to his cave. Dinner was in order, and Graverobber hadn't been lucky enough to catch a hare in awhile. It had been just squirrels and chipmunks. They weren't enough -- they didn't even taste good. Hare, though? That was delicious and he was eager.

He paused as he smelled a new scent on the wind. Curious as always, Graverobber ignored his survival instincts. The last few times he had met a wolf they were puppies who needed help. After those experiences he didn't feel like chancing abandoning a small one.

Except, as he closed in, they weren't a puppy. They looked tired, however. As bad at talking as he was, he was equally generous. Graverobber hesitated before padding into the open, dropping his hare at his feet.

      "Are you lost?"

Startled by the sudden strong scent that meant wolf, followed by the voice of the owner of this scent, Storm jumped only sightly, head popping back up until his gaze landed on the dark wolf. Who was much closer than he had expected, especially when one considered how vacant this little area of forest his paws traveled on had been. Then suddenly there was life! Wasn't the forest just amazing like that?

"O-Oh! Pardon me." He apologized quickly, realizing he was probably invading the other wolf's space and took a step or two away. "I mean no harm nor to intrude!" The white wolf considered the question that had been asked of him.

Was he lost? Well, that depended on one's interpretation of the word. He was not lost as far as seeking his home, as he did not have one. Nor was he lost by heading down the wrong path. His paws lead him where they willed. Perhaps he was lost in a more intimate way, but Storm was rather positive that was not what this stranger was asking.

"No, good sir, I am not lost. I simply am a wanderer. Seeking shelter for this evening." He said with a charming grin. "I am terribly sorry if I have intruded on your land!" That would just be so rude! And rude was not something Storm was capable of.

"I am called Storm on the Horizon. Might a make a humble request of you, sir?"

So he wasn't lost, he just liked to wander. Graverobber felt more at ease with that answer. Wanderer's rarely had other wolves with them, and Storm seemed non-threatening for the most part. It had been awhile since Graverobber had even met anyone hostile, but now that he had found his own cave he really didn't want to have to fight to keep it. He was sure he'd lose, after all.

His head cocked to the side as the wanderer asked him a question. Multiple things confused him, but being called sir was the biggest one. It was no secret Graverobber was not the best at communicating with other adults. He wasn't a figure that commanded respect, and he was flighty. No one had used a respectful name as 'sir' for him, and for a moment Storm had knocked him speechless. What was that feeling in his chest? Was he... glad someone thought to respect him?

While Graverobber was normally a generous soul, that comment alone would ensure Storm would get the best help he had to offer.

"What is it?" He croaked, voice raspy and low as he settled onto his haunches.

The white wolf wondered what this stranger's story was? In his experience, lately, when one finds another lone wolf, they usually were just that. Alone. He was always intrigued to learn why another might choose such a lonely lifestyle as he himself was? But then, he just wasn't sure what he was seeking. Just that his soul wanted to wander and explore.

Storm was not quite sure what made the other wolf seem to be momentarily quite. Was it his presence? Or perhaps this wolf did not get many visitors? Storm just tilted his head a little, waiting quite patiently for this stranger to respond.

And he did! With a simple question that made Storm feel quite blessed to have met this stranger. Yet, at the same time, he felt quite guilty in the request he was about to make.

"I was wondering if you may know of a place I can have shelter for the evening, to rest my paws?" While he didn't outright ask to stay with this wolf, his thoughts ran along those lines. Clearly, this stranger called someplace near here home. He must have been out hunting for an evening meal and that's when they met. But to actually ask specifically to share a shelter with another was just not something Storm could bring himself to do. That was invasive! And rude.

"I have been looking for a place for a small while. I even considered seeking out a hare and requesting to share their den, if possible." He laughed a little at this, but he was also quite serious.

Shelter? He had shelter -- a lot of it. Graverobber was used to sharing it by this point, so much so he had almost asked the other if he needed to spend a night at his gave before they mentioned they needed shelter. He nodded, remembering back to the hare he had already hunted earlier that day. It hadn't been dug into yet and could provide food for the both of them. Storm already looked fairly tired, if Graverobber could help the stranger out then he would.

"I have a cave. Up the hill. I already have food. You can have some." His broken sentences were quick and chopped, but genuine. He wouldn't protest if Storm wanted to get more food, but most wolves would say the same thing. He glanced towards the direction of his home, his tail briefly flicking in thought.

"It's messy a bit. I was making something. I can move the plants when we get there."

Storm's tail wagged gently behind him as his gaze softened at this kind wolf. Not only was he willing to share a shelter that he kept, but even his food? The white wolf was very touched. But he was also a gentleman through and through.

"I would be quite grateful to take shelter in your cave, if just for the night?" He said with a sigh of content. "And you are most generous in your offering to share food. But I couldn't possibly take some of a catch you worked hard to get on your own! Perhaps, after seeing where your cave is, I will hunt for myself?" Really, he didn't think it fair to take part of a hare when the other had clearly been out hunting when running in to him.

A soft chuckle was Storm's response to the cave being a bit messy. And he was a little curious about these plants? "Messy shall not bother me, my friend! I was, after all, contemplating finding a nice hare hole to request shelter in. My white fur would have been turned to brown by the next morning!"

"Thank you, for such a kind offer." He added, quite ready to find a nice spot to settle and rest his aching paws.
