Sunlight had just begun to tilt behind the Weyr Bowl, casting dancing shadows that lengthened with every candle mark that passed in their training. It had of course been a long day, but one that had seen a marked improvement on the little green dragon's control when in the air. All the lessons and free time that they'd spent with her up there were showing in the flashy acrobatics that she could present before the rest of her clutch. Despite the control that Amra attempted to keep over her, Seirath couldn't resist showing off for her siblings be they boys or girls.

Though she admittedly approved of the little green sisters and the one lone delicate white much more.

Do you think that we can train a bit more tonight, My Lady? I've been wanting to try that spin that you showed me when you were dancing a week back. Seirath's smooth voice commented, sliding into Amra's mind like a song being sung on a beautiful day. Every word she spoke showed grace, under the correct circumstances of course. Oh don't think thoughts like those, I've been trying to get better about that.

If a dragon could blush Seirath's cheeks would have been thoroughly darker green as thoughts of her temper tantrum only a month before reappeared in her mind. To her credit, her rider had come upon her in a much better mood afterwards, calmed so by her favorite brother. Her outbursts had lessened as days had turned to months and now nearly half a turn had passed, once the new Weyrlings had come from that wild clutch she'd heard about it had seemed to buck her up and make her pay far more attention to her own attitude and appearance. As if she hadn't before, but the sulking and tantrums were down, so Amra counted her lucky stars for that blessing.

"I suppose it would be a good idea to go down to the beach and practice a bit more, you can sing a bit louder down there where no one's around to be woken up." Amra had always been afraid that she would wake the newest babies if she sang at her normal level throughout the day, baby dragons needed plenty of sleep to get bigger and stronger and there had been quite a few metallics from that wild clutch.

A queen! I heard that there was a golden queen in that most recent clutch, though I haven't quite seen her yet. Do you think that we could say hello sometime? Instantly the practice was forgotten at the thought of a gold and her wings fluttered a bit as she all but wiggled in excitement. While she was more fond of greens Seirath absolutely adored a lady of any kind, especially if they were well tempered and beautiful. But not too beautiful...

"Oh don't you worry, I'm certain that we'll see her soon enough, probably she's been enjoying some sleep as she grows into that large body she'll one day inhabit. Let's go practice at the beach for now, maybe we can work on that trick with the sand and your wingtips. What do you think?" deep voice coming out with a chuckle that carried despite herself, Amra ran a hand across the little one's head and was rewarded with a gentle sound that resembled a bell.

To the beach then! Eyes whirling a pretty blue, she hopped into the air gracefully and spun around as if dancing herself, earning her another chuckle that turned into a full on laugh for her antics. Only the little green could get her to laugh at such a level and was one of very few on Pern that had ever been given a true smile from the dancing former-spy-turned-weyrling and it was hardly any question as to why that was either.

Chores were becoming a bit more of a less-daunting task. With repetition came practice, with practice came efficiency. With efficiency, came more free time as they were completed early. But a whole afternoon free? The possibility was open and endless!

Khamaith had suggested the beach, and Ezyzu could only happily agree. The little gold was constantly drawn to the coast, likely some carry-over from her hatching on a coast. But a warm, sunny day on the beach sounded like a nice afternoon. So she dressed in lighter clothes, grabbing sun cream and heading out with the little gold in tow. Khamaith was in good spirits, almost sashaying a bit for the constantly sleepy dragon. It pulled a soft laugh from her rider, reaching to gently stroke her neck as they walked.

It’s such a lovely day.. Do you think we’ll run into others? Khamaith was near humming, wings outspread a touch to soak up the sunlight as they walked.

“Possibly. A lot of people do have work they’re finishing.” Normally Ezyzu would be happy to help them out. After all, they worked as a team. But an afternoon for themselves would be nice. She was.. A bit exhausted, if she admitted it to herself, and made her normally peppy mood a bit more subdued. It was a pleasant exhaustion, but a relaxing afternoon would be so very lovely. She ties her long hair up into a bun as they walk, even with Khamaith watching out of the corner of those lovely facets.

Yet as they got near the coast, Khamaith perked up. Oh, we’re not alone.

Ezyzu perked up, looking where Khamaith was.. Oh, one of the senior weyrlings. They’d seen them practicing on time off, but with such differing time schedules had left Ezyzu with very little time to actually get to know anyone. “Maybe a bit of company wouldn’t be so bad? If they’d like it.”

Shall I ask, most beloved?

Ezyzu smiled, feeling that warmth bloom in her heart at such a treasured nickname. “Why not, my dear? I don’t feel like yelling across the way.” And with Khamaith’s still-growing legs, the going was a gentler pace.

Perking up, Khamaith called to the bigger green dragon. Oh, hello. Are you and Yours going to the beach? We are going there as well. Would you mind a bit of company?

Steps light and laughter bubbling in her chest, Amra could feel the beauty of the day actually begin to melt into her a bit and the wind just felt so good on her skin, the sun so fantastic against her face and hair. With the little green dragon dancing beside her, or rather in the air above her, it felt as though this day would be the perfect time to do some training and maybe even get in a decent nap. Seirath had other ideas of course, she always loved to be showing off and wanted to learn as much as she could in order to do so all the better. As it lined up with her own desires the tall woman didn't argue with it and would never complain that they were training far too often, for she'd been an overachiever from the moment she was born.

Her mother had seen to that.

Hazarding a twirl as she walked, adding some flourish to her movements to match her dancing dragon above, Amra's thick braid spun and her skirt flared out around her with the motion before swooping back in towards her legs to lay evenly once more. Making her own clothes was often an issue as she couldn't find the best fabric here in the Weyr like she'd had access to it back at the courtesan hall, but it definitely made her stand out as if her own towering height didn't do that enough. When she was training she was forced to wear a men's jacket and pants, far too tall for anything fashioned for her fellow women, but when she was alone or off she always chose to bare her stomach as it was now and slip into a skirt and loose blouse. To her amusement her dragon actually loved it and would help her match colors to her dark skin and light gray eyes if she could, usually preferring greens for certainly no biased reasons.

Greens are the best color, surely by now you.... Seirath's comment on her rider's inner monologue was cut short as her attention was drawn by a flash of color and a voice that melted into her active mind. With a swirl of blue eyes and a flash of wings, the dainty green angled her wings to zip over towards the source of the beautiful voice with a beautiful twirl and a sweet musical trill.

Already showing off...

Stilling in her motions, embarrassed that she might have been seen dancing by someone that could use that against her, Amra cast a glance to where she could best guess her dragon's path would take her. At the end of the obvious path was another candidate with a small gold that was pacing alongside her long strides. There weren't many women that were as tall as she was and it had her eyebrows lift up just a bit and the stoic expression on her face broke into something of shock when she noticed that she was just as dark of skin as she herself was. A gold rider with dark skin and that was nearly as tall as herself, it was quite the shock to take in all at once but she would be forced to get over it as her dragon was already upon the pair in an obvious wiggle of joy.

Oh I was so hoping to come across the pair of you at some point! Seirath stated warmly, her giving away her excitement just as well as the body language she had no way of masking. The green dragon, for all that she was larger than the little gold in this moment, was a dainty thing and her movements expressed every bit of her inner machinations, a polar opposite to her rider who tended to wear a mask of disinterest even if she was excited herself. My lady and I were going down to the beach to train a bit, but we would certainly love some company.

Clearly her own voice wasn't quite good enough either Amra decided with an inward chuckle.
