Once you start a new game, you first must get introductions out of the way. So, you meet the professor whose name is Rowan. The professor asks you if you played this before. Just answer yes or no.
Since I played this before I chose no information needed.
Then the professor goes into talking about the world of pokemon. Its in every pokemon game. He asks you to unlock the pokeball by pressing the center of the lower screen. I recommend using a stylus for this game.
Now, you see a munchlax beside the professor. A munchlax is a Normal type pokemon. The best type of moves to use against it would be a fighting type move. But this munchlax is just for show. So, no battling it. Aww.
Okay, now the professor is asking my gender. Since in Pearl there is a boy playing, I am going to say I am a lady. Okay, who laughed?
Next, gotta type in my name, so, I am going to play as my mom Dee.
Now time to name your rival. For this game I am going to choose the name Terry because Terry is playing Pokemon Pearl.

Introductions are over and now its time to see the game itself. Your character starts out watching a news cast about the Red Gyrados. In your mind, you are thinking eventually you will see the tv station in Jubilife City, but since you don't have a pokemon yet, that still remains a dream.
You do know, however that you are soon going to get a Pokemon because you have an appointment to see Professor Rowan. So, you go down the stairs and your mom greets you. She says your rival wants to see you. Time to pay Terry a visit.
Just as you are about to knock on his door, however, he bumps into you. How rude! Anyway, he tells you he wants to meet you at the lake and he wants you to be quick about it. There is no real rush about it, so take your time.
But since he forgot something, why not see what it was he forgot? Lets see his place. Head up the stairs to his room and we find he forgot his bag and journal. Ha ha ha ha ha!
Now its off to the lake. From Terry's house, turn East till you reach a small sign, then head north to the route's opening. You see Terry facing west on route 201. We will be leading Terry to the lake by heading west soon. Once you cannot go west anymore, turn north and into the lake Verity's entrance.
Professor Rowan is already there with his assistant. They are apparently looking for something rare also. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, they get ready to leave the lake, but oops, they leave the briefcase of starter pokemon behind.
Terry notices the briefcase just as a pair of starly attack. Time to steal a starter pokemon. Oh great, we just started our adventure and we already have points towards team rocket.
For this adventure, I chose piplup. Piplup is a water type pokemon and knows pound and growl. Pound is an attack move whereas growl will lower the starly's attack power. For this battle, since growl is useless to us, we will just use pound.
Starly used tackle on us. Tackle is also an attacking move that dishes out damage. Sometimes a starly will use growl, but not this time. Okay since our battle was successful and we earned 16 xp, time to return the pokemon since it wasn't ours.
After all, we don't like team rocket and we used a team rocket stunt.
Since we chose piplup, our rival will have turtwig.
The assistant named Lucas comes back for the briefcase and we got busted for using the starters!

Terry led us back to route 201 and when we are about to go back to twinleaf town, we find Rowan and Lucas. Lucas told on us for using the starters! What a snitch! Rowan looks at our stolen pokemon, then says he is going back to the lab. Uh...is he mad at us for stealing?
Lucas told us to go to the lab so, I think we should head there next. But first, we headed back to our houses to confess. So, to get me there in a hurry, mom gives me running shoes.
So, now to the lab. When you see a path going north, go there and back to route 201. This time, we go east instead of west. Yes, time to go into the tall grass. Lets see what wild pokemon we can find. According to notes left by the real Dee, she says we should be able to find bidoof and starly on this route right now, but when we get the national pokedex, we will also be able to find both genders of Nidoran using the pokeradar, doduo in swarms, and if we have the game fire red in our GBA slot, we will also be able to find growlithe.
Since we have no pokeballs for catching bidoof and starly, its best we just walk through the grass and if we run into them gain xp only.

Just like I did with the other pokemon, I was sure to do some leveling of them first. This way they are not too weak when I battle with trainers and I need them.
Speaking of trainers, we run into three when we continue along route 202.
Once route 202 is done, we are officially in Jubilife city. Now in Jubilife City, the first thing you are going to want to do is heal your pokemon at the pokemon center.
Then head next door to the Pokemon trainers school. You will see two trainers in the corner, where you should battle them first. They each have a level 6 Abra who knows hidden power.
Hidden Power is a move that has a hidden type. The only way to know what power it used is to teach it to a pokemon and to use it against another. Now, I taught hidden power to Debbie and from what I can tell, its either ice or electric. The only way to know for sure is to use it against a water type. If its super effective against water, then its electric. All I know is its super effective against flying.
So, once you battled the two trainers and healed your pokemon again, deliver that package to Terry. Oh, it was a pair of town maps. So, Terry gave us one too. The town map will let us look at the region of sinnoh and see what cities are where. Highlighted towns are ones we've been to.
Now, we are interrupted by a man who has a poke'tch for us. The thing is we have to find the three clowns first, answer yes to all three clowns and return to the man to receive it. This watch is great for if you are trying to see how many steps you walked with your character. Useful for when you hatch eggs. (or if you want your character to lose weight.)
Once you have the watch, head west out of Jubilife city and into the little tunnel where we talk to the guy with the red vest on. He will give us an old rod as long as we say we are interested in fishing, which we are.
Then head to route 218 and use that fishing rod to catch a magikarp. I named my magikarp Diana.
Return to Jubilife city and head North out of it and onto the nearby route. You are going to want to catch a Zubat found at night and a Budew. I named my Zubat Adam and my Budew Vega.
Once you catch both of them, go to the pokemon center and put your starly and magikarp into the PC and take out the budew and the zubat. Train the budew and zubat. Especially if you chose chimchar or piplup. With turtwig, you can keep training magikarp, but you will still need zubat.
Once you train them to level 7 each and heal your pokemon, now you want to head east out of Jubilife. Oh, and you can train the pokemon by sticking to route 204 and even head into the cave to pick up an antidote.
Note: If you run into a geodude in the cave, catch it.
When we head east out of Jubilife, you will find Terry who challenges you to a battle. He has for us a starly and a turtwig. Starly is weak against electric moves so if you were smart and taught shinx the hidden move use shinx against starly. Then with turtwig, we are going to want to use bug moves. If you use supersonic against turtwig and have it confused using the zubat, then do that first. After, use leech life. Bug moves are super effective against grass types.
And this is where I am at now.
