As they peered through old works of literature, there did happen to be one thing in common, a suspicious symbol. “We should consult someone about this symbol. It’s appeared multiple times now, but I haven’t made anything of it.” If only they’d brought a historian, having not expected a lengthy investigation, but at least the odd symbol resembling a dagger would be worthwhile to look into, especially with the missing pages and such. Perhaps the librarian would know something useful? Under normal circumstances, research wasn’t so bad, as a sharp mind was as useful as any blade, but time was of the essence and lives were at stake.

Hadrian had his nose in one of the books he had taken from the cloister, as he often did before leaving on a task. This particular journey, he had a book on older cults of the Duchies and the Brittanian Kingdoms. The fact that the symbol was hidden among the pages, or torn out suggested the idea to him. "Likely a cult, as I found it in this book I took from the cloister before we left," Hadrian turned the book around. There wasn't much to the page, beyond a description of what the symbol was, the origins of the cult, and a general description of where it was last found.
"I don't get it. There was an obvious effort to erase the evidence, which stinks of a cover up, or a fear of the past." The Squire shrugged, and started packing up his books. "I would hazard the librarian has a clue. Though, there is much here that makes my brain itch."
