It had only been a week since the news spread about the Z-Virus. What was suppose to be a cure for cancer, that was suppose to be one of the best cures in the world, had suddenly turned those who took the treatment into what most would call the undead. At first it was just noted that the people who got the treatment had died in only a few hours of the treatment. Then the outbreak started, and it was spreading fast. The one who had died had become reanimated, and craved the blood of the living. And as soon as they had bitten another person, that persons blood would mutate and spread through their own body's. Culseing them to become the Undead as well...
Day 10 since the outbreak of the Z-Virus, a male college student by the name of Damon, had just moved into the small town of Zailly-Port, a small town barley known for anything more then the Mulch Industry they had. It was his first chance in live only 9 days ago. He had moved across the country to get his own house, and start his life. He never expected the turn around of things.
Now he quickly swung his door open and hesitantly looked out worriedly, finding people running allover the place, and cars crashing into things. The Virus had even spread here. And this was the beginning to a whole new life then what he had planned for. But he figured at least he didn't know any of the nabors on the street yet to grieve for them...
((Okay here is the start of it all I guess. I drew a blank XD. but I'm sure the point got across. I'm thinking your character is one of the nabors that live across form mine, and in this event they now witness, he ends up helping her and that's how we start ^W^)) |

This year was meant to be a big year for Sam. She was just starting her first year of college, and was preparing to move out of home, until the Z-Virus out break turned everything to hell. Now her small home town of Zailly-Port had fallen to chaos. Hysteria spread, and now people were killing people out of fear and greed. Samantha had managed to hold up in her mothers home for most of the week, but her supplies were quickly running out and she knew it was time she had to move on. Her mother had left to go for a supply run, but never came back. The realisation that she might be dead, or worse yet undead, hadn't quite set in yet, and there was still a tiny sliver of hope in the back of her mind that she might see her again. In truth it was the only thing motivating her to keep going.
Samantha spent the early hours of the morning packing up the last few remaining supplies she had; a couple of cans of soup, some muesli bars, a small first aid kit and a spare change of clothes, some batteries and a flash-light, all stuffed into a small, black backpack. Then she pulled her long blonde hair up into a messy bun and threw on some warm clothes; a pair of black jeans, a white long sleeve shirt, a light grey hooded jumper, and a pair of black hiking style boots. Before finally sneaking her way out of the back of her house and used her fence as cover as she moved around the yard, stopping every so often to survey her surroundings before moving on.

Damon was quick to go back into his house, realizing he needed to get the hell out of dodge. Staying here wasn't a good idea. Sadly most of his things were still packed from the move. Still he was quick to get a backpack of his own and dump all the recently just packed college books onto the counter. He used to joke about zombies and the end of the world as a kid, now in real life it was happening. He needed certain things. A flashlight, lighter, a single notebook and a few pens, his hotplate from camping last summer, and a few little assorted gizmos, like a pocket knife, and small foldable hatchet. Just in case. As soon as he had that taken care of and zipped up. He needed to get ready to escape this horrible towns demise. With a snatch of cargo pants, t-shirt, and a hoody for the cold nights while traveling, he reached for the last item in his inventory. His baseball bat. With his steal trusted weapon in hand, he would surly make it at least a few miles he figured. When the threat level was lower, he would think of a real plan.
And so he came out of that house with a bang, kicking the door open, to make a zombie in his front yard stumble back as he finished it off by knocking it's head off with one swing. He was frankly surprised he could hit that hard, but then again there wasn't much holding that particular zed together it appeared. But there was no time to stand there and observe his murder. He booked it across the street, where there seemed to be less panic and leaped over some hedges. There was a large fence to his right, that ran a ways down, and hooked a corner. He used it for cover, and started to slow his pace. Now more carful he reached the corner of the fencing, to suddenly get pulled back by a man who had apparently turned just a bit ago.
He fault with all he had to get free from it, but it only trashed him around and slammed him against the fence, not quiet knowing what was on the other side.

Samantha followed the fence right around to the garden shed, where she took the opportunity to look for a weapon of some kind to defend herself with. Unfortunately it had already been raided a few days ago, and all she was able to find was a hammer. But it was better than nothing, so she took it with her and kept moving. Hunkering low to the ground and taking small slow steps allowed her to travel quite a distance without drawing any attention to herself. She was quickly coming to the end of the fence however, and would need to find some other form of cover until she could get away from all the chaos. All of a sudden she heard a loud thud next to her, as if something had been thrown into the fence. Then she could hear what sounded like two people fighting on the other side. She figured it was probably another unfortunate survivor falling victim to one of the infected. Although her brain was screaming at her to run from the situation, Sam decided to investigate and see if maybe there was a way she could help. So she mustered up all the courage she had and stepped out around the corner of the fence. At first when she saw the guy struggling with the zombie she hesitated, and started to second guess her decision. However, seeing as it wasn't in her nature to run away and leave someone behind when they were in need of help, she stepped forward and swung as hard as she could with her hammer in hand, slamming the hooked side of her hammer into the zombies head, then yanked it out again and hit it several more times with the flat side before it finally fell to the ground and lay there motionless. There was blood splattered all over her face and jumper but she hardly took notice of it as she stared down at the former living person she had just killed. Her breathing was heavy, her heart was pounding and her body was surging with adrenaline, which was probably the only thing keeping her from fainting.

Damon found himself shocked, but relived at the same time. He was quick to get back to defensive mode incase any more supprized him, "thanks for saving my a**!" He replied as he looked past her, "buuuut it think we have bigger problems now!" He gestured her to follow him as he stepped backwards, "RUN!"
What exactly did he see from behind her, well... for starters a school bus just flew buy full of zombies, as it crashed into a wall of a brick building, and a tanker truck was on it's side previously right next to it. He was no chemist, but he knew that fire that started was going to defiantly make some fireworks, and they only had a few seconds to try and run the other way.
However even as they would run, the shockwave from the explosion knocked them and the zeds in the area to the ground as a firry explosion went off.
Being they were closer still to the explosion, Demon found his ears ringing as he picked himself off the ground. He needed to get up before the zeds did. He looked to the girl and quickly stood her up. Surly neither could hear all that well for the time being, but he was sure it was a good idea to try. "We need to get to the woods on the far side of the town!" He yelled over the ringing in his ears. He had a plan, and he wasn't going to leave this girl alone after she just saved his a**. Besides, it seemed there were now more zeds, then any people a few little calls in terror here and there, but nothing like when he left his house... |

Samantha flinched slightly and looked up at the guy she had just saved when she heard him say something. Seeing him helped to ground her a little because it reminded her of why she had just killed someone, albeit an infected someone, but they were still a person at some point so it wasn't something she could just get over, especially when she actually recognized the man. There was no time for reminiscing however. The guy seemed to be in a bit of a panic about something so she followed his gaze to whatever he was looking at behind her and turned just in time to see the bus of undead crash into a brick wall, and a fallen tanker, sparking up a fire. It didn't take a genius to figure out what was going to happen next, and she certainly didn't want to stick around to see it. Sam propelled herself forward as fast as her feet would carry her but as it turned out it wasn't enough. The shock wave from the explosion reached them in seconds, knocking all living and non-living beings in it's path to the ground. After that everything went black for a moment or two and there was a loud ringing in her ears, thanks to the guy she had saved however, she managed to get back up to her feet again and at least get her vision back, though her ears still felt like they were going to burst. She couldn't hear what it was he was saying but she nodded anyway as if she could and followed after him where ever he was going.

Demon was quick to motion her to follow him back towards where his house was, but took a turn and headed over a fence to a Nabors yard. From there he pointed to the trees off in the distance, and motioned her to keep following. Being most of the terror was going on near the roads, he stuck to the backside of the houses, were there were far less undead, and if any, really slow ones that they could run past and bolt around.
It wasn't until they were about halfway, when a familiar sound was heard. He slowed to look us as a low flying plan went by and crashed into the houses they just came from only minuets ago.
He didn't look long, instead he edged to keep going. His hearing returning to him now as they would enter the woods and come to a slower pace. Finally he slowed eventfully to catch his breath. "There's no gong back now." He looked up to her, "Thanks for saving me back there. I'm Damon. I just moved here for collage before all this started. " He motioned back to where they came. |

He carefully shook her hand, "well I'm thankful to meet you then. I don't know this area vary well." after the handshake he took a better look around where they stood. He nodded, "I know most girls don't really look up to the gamer geeks. But I've played a lot of games. And now that it's real, I think it's a good idea to learn from the thought of survival and what could be possible in those games now in real life."
He figured she shouldn't understand and walked forward a little before turning around and putting a single finger to his lips, "here that?" All that could be heard was the rustling of the trees, and the few animals within. "There's too many sounds, and far too many things to stumble over here. It's a zombie prevention plan." He nodded, "we don't know what these things really are yet. What triggers there emotions, and much at all to what type of creature these people become. Do they react to sound? Sight? Smell? Woodlands like this slow their movement, cover the scent of food, and can even block your vision when you look further out. A good place to move about." He nodded. He felt a little smart for finally putting his video gaming to use. "I know how to stay alive, I had a incident as a kid so it's a knack to adapt and find a way to live off the stakes." He motioned forwards, "you don't have to follow me, but I suggest we use the woods as cover, and establish a plan for what we are going to need most first."
Okay so he was a little pushy, and gave a little information too quickly for what was going on. He'd admit, he probably scared her more then the zombie did to a point. But he meant well, he was scared, afraid even. But even more so he knew he had too keep his mind off other things. Was wether or not his parents were still alive. The outbreak started where they lived. They say the area is crawling with zeds now. They also said it was contained, obviously they lied. So he needed to stay focused on what was ahead of him. Stay alive, setting up a plan.
