“You know,” Mari leaned a little closer to Amarissa. “I like how you are, Ama. You’re up for anything. There aren’t many people who are like that. You’re a lot of fun.” She grinned even more, straightening again. “Now, let’s see what we can find. Here’s hoping they’ve got some good stuff today!” The girl waved away her new friend’s thought. “Nah, you can have belowdecks. I’ll go topside. I’ve got plenty already so there’s no need in being greedy. Just make sure to be careful down there. If you’re not used to boats then it can be a little weird. What with the shifting on water and all. But I don’t think you’ll have trouble. I’ll be listening out for you though, just in case. Okay?” Marietta waited for just a second until Amarissa gave the affirmative before giving a nod of her own then moving to the starboard side of the vessel.

From the corner of her eye, she watched the younger girl head below. Another, fainter smirk ghosted across her lips. Everything was going according to plan. It’d only be a few minutes now and the game would be over. After all, it was difficult to explore belowdecks. Almost dangerous.

Next post is when the team will make their final move. I'm going to try to make it quick so we can move along, but if you think it's a bit too quick then let me know. smile

As Mari leaned closer to whisper towards her, Amarissa grinned in the moment she heard those exact words. What she said made her feel all blissfull, the happiest smile she could pull off spreading across her lips. "Truly? Aww, thank you Mari! I'm happy to hear you think so! You're the most amazing person I've met so far, and the most adventurous!" She smiled, pointing out how great her newly found bestie is. Her smile never faded even a little as Mari started hoping to have some good finds today, and having agreed to which sides they will both be searching. Having never in her life been on a boat, she had not an idea in which Mari had meant by stating to be careful, but she would be extra cautious just in case. However, she felt better about it once Mari stated she doubted she'd have trouble in getting around, she even had her back if she'd ever require assistance. "Thank you! I'll do my best and I'm excited to see what kind of treasures I'll come across!" She exclaimed happily, walking towards the bottom portion. She wanted to find some cool treasure for her new friend Mari, but she had pointed out she wanted Ama to have it, so maybe she could give something to Katashi since he was another kind person she had met earlier.

Descending down the stairs, Amarissa glanced around, staring at all the cargo around, hoping she could find something shiny. So far, nothing was really drawing her eye. The swaying of the ship as it was docked made it kind of hard to not topple over, the gravity was nearly forcing her to make a tumble. She remembered Mari did warn her about that, and the thing is, keeping her balance had always been fairly difficult. She began peeking through some cargo boxes, wondering if there was anything shiny inside when a larger wave caused the ship to be guided along that wave, hopping on one foot in a poor attempt to keep herself balanced, before tumbling over onto her butt. The more the boat shook, the harder it was to keep on her toes. The only thing on her mind was finding some cool shiny object for one of her friends, so while it was difficult to keep balance, she didn't stop trying to find the objects. Amarissa pushed herself right back up onto her feet, and continued searching along the boxes, trying to find the best way to keep a stance to where she wouldn't fall over. All the same, she was having a lot of fun searching. It was like playing hide and seek, but with objects to win. Hopefully Mari was finding some cool shiny ones too!
-OOC: Sounds good! C: I think it's fine paced as it is! : D-

The cargo hold was filled to the brim with goodies. Boxes were lined up, making row after row of stacks. Some of them looked a bit precarious, sitting as they were atop the others, but should be secured enough. Amarissa wouldn’t have any trouble with them. No, it was other things in the cargo area that she should be concerned about. Things which moved stealthily in the shadows, avoiding what little candlelight was to be found. Things such as pirates who didn’t want to be friends with her. They watched the young girl with a patience born from practice. It wouldn’t do to pounce too early. It was best to let her explore a little, to get caught up in the game. Boy was it hard though. A few of them had to suppress snickers after she lost her balance and fell firmly on her rear. She obviously didn’t have her sealegs...That could make this much easier than even they anticipated.

It was time to move. Catching the eyes of the others, the leader motioned for them to fan out amidst the rest of the cargo. Everyone seemed to automatically understand the plan. It should be simple enough if the waves cooperated. If they timed it just right, if Amarissa stepped in just the right location, the next time she fell over from the waves one of them could clock her on the back of the head. One of the less subtle approaches they could go with, but effective if done correctly. So, they waited to strike, riding the pitching boat as if born to it. A single opportunity...that’s all it should take...There! Another violent roll of the boat. Should the girl’s balance fail, she stood in the perfect spot for Jorin to take her out. Being one of their best crewmen, he surely wouldn’t fail. The board he held was a good weapon for the job too. Light enough not to do a lot of damage but enough to at least daze, if not completely knock her out. Truth be told, it’d be best if the girl were knocked unconscious. They’d take a win however they could get it though.

I hope this left you enough leeway. I didn't want to go overboard with details so I kept it very basic. lol

Amarisa continued on her search to find some shiny objects to give to her friends, maybe she could even find some for the owner of this ship, since they so kindly allowed them to play on it! Hopefully she could find enough for everyone, she didn't want anyone to be left out. However, so far she hadn't actually found anything, and who knows how much time they had to search. On another note, these hard waves shoving the boat were quite hard to push on in, so she ended up fighting her own body to keep standing up and also walking around in search. The harder pushes would easily knock her down, otherwise she fought to keep going and kept herself steady. There were rows and rows of cargo, but no shiny object in sight. Amarisa was really going to feel disappointed if she couldn't even find one.

While searching, a larger wave ruffled the boat, thrusting on her butt once again. Not that she minded, it was rather easy to just jump back up. That was how she carried on through life after all. Sometimes you fall, but you just keep getting back up and dusting yourself off. As long as she didn't find herself falling out of the ship, she'd be fine. Mostly because she wasn't exactly swimming material, and would end up drowning. As she was trying to pull herself up again, some hard feeling board whacked across the backside of her head, knocking her towards one of the cargo boxes and dropping her stuffed toy to the ground beside her. For a few seconds, she was in a daze, her vision blurry and fuzzy. She couldn't even process what just happened. She didn't see much, as her eyes soon forced shut, blacking out.

Marietta leaned against the large mast of the ship, arms folded lazily across her chest and one foot propped on it. She faced towards the door that lead belowdecks though she wasn't looking at it. Her eyes were closed at the moment as she listened. Listened to the pitching of the boat against the waves, to the sound of the water crashing lightly against the wood, to the many other noises and sounds familiar to her. One sound was eerily striking among it all. A faintly soft thud which emanated from the cargo hold. Yet Marietta didn't stir. She simply waited and listened. The thud she heard seconds before was gone, replaced by a series of quiet thumps. These were consistent and many and grew louder as they drew closer. It wasn't until she heard the creaking of the hinges from the door being pushed open that she finally opened her eyes. In the frame stood the figure of a man, others flanking him, carrying a small form over his shoulder. "That went faster than I thought. She give you any trouble?" Mari asked, pushing away from the mast. The older man- Turne- smiled and shook his head. "Not a bit. Went out like a light after Jorin gave her a wallop." "She isn't hurt is she?" The teenager frowned. There was a mixture of concern and...something else in her tone. Mostly concern as they wouldn't get paid properly if the blue-haired girl was too damaged. The other emotion she couldn't quite place. It was foreign to her, making her chest constrict at the thought of the younger one being injured. Turne shook his head again though it was Jorin who answered, "She'll have a right proper headache when she wakes up but that'll be all. I knows me own strength and made sure to put just enough power in it to knock her out." Marietta stared at the unconscious form of Amarissa for a moment longer, as if in a trance, weighing the pirate's words. Rousing herself at last, she gave the crew a nod. "Great job guys. Let's get her to the rendezvous point. We don't want to miss out on our cut!" She turned and made to take a step but stopped instantly...a thought occurring to her. "Where's her stuffed animal?" She looked over her shoulder at Turne. A third crew member held it aloft from the back of the group. Marietta nodded. "Good. I want to make sure she takes it with her. That'll be what keeps her going over there." She glanced at Amarissa while she spoke then looked away. Wordlessly, Marietta led the group off the ship, down the harbor, all the way to the awaiting boats sailing for Shioya and Astela.
