Technically a posting game, but being that this forum is about casual roleplay and improv, I thought it appropriate. {Mods, feel free to move it elsewhere if there's a better place for it.}
How To Play
I'll start a scenario, followed by "the person below me..." and however I finish that statement is the prompt that the next person has to work with. After their response, they follow up with another "the person below me...", leaving a prompt for the next poster.
Aside from having to respond to the previous prompt and leaving a new prompt, only other rule I want to include is to try to leave prompts that will in some way encourage the flow of the "story" of sorts. For example:
Post 1: An empty cookie jar has been left on the counter.
The person below me saw who stole the cookies.
Response: Blast that cookie monster, always taking all the cookies!
The person below me is the cookie monster.
Response: It wasn't me! I swear! *wipes crumbs from mouth*
The person below me defends my honor.
And so on. A non-productive response would be something like: "The person below me is ugly" or "The person below me dies for no reason." Granted things like this can still be worked around creatively, but it's not a nice thing to do so just don't.
Let's Get Started!
There's an abandoned mansion nearby that's rumored to be haunted.
The person below me wishes to go investigate it.
