Writing Prompt : Suicide Notes
Characters from 'The Giver'
(Note: I hope I did OK with this. I wrote this earlier on just to try to figure out if I could write a note from one character to another. If anyone has not read The Giver, this WILL contain spoilers...)
Dear Father,
I have applied for Release. I apologize, I just cannot take the pain anymore. The memories bring great joy, but also great pain. I loved the memories of the kittens, the puppies, and the rain. Those were wonderful, Father. Love is the most wonderful feeling of all, but the pain and sorrow are too much. They are calling me in for Release soon, so I must end this letter to you even sooner.
I know what Release truly is, while the others do not. They have no idea they are killing people, Father. I wish I could tell them and have the memories released to them from both of us. I wish that could be true. I love you so much, Father, and I hope you won't be too sad. I know that you and I are the only ones that still have true feelings. Maybe there is another place in this world that has people with feelings. The Communities can't be all that there is to this world.
I have to go now. Goodbye, Father, I love you.
From Rosemary.
The Giver looked at the note his daughter had given him and he wept. "Sir?" The Speaker asked, attempting to clarify he was at the Annex. "Yes?" The Giver asked, trying to prevent his voice from breaking. "Your daughter is being prepared for Release now. I will turn on the video receiver for you to see the Release."
There she was, his daughter, asking to inject herself. The Giver did not watch - He looked away.

001.New Beginnings
Yossu had left the Wandering Isle shortly after the Alliance and Horde had left as well. She was going to someplace called Orgrimmar to join the Horde, leaving behind the only life she had ever known. The Pandaren wanted to join the Horde with her sister, Chaung, but Chaung had joined the Alliance, saying that she thought that the Horde were too violent. The Horde and the Alliance both seem to be fighting, so wouldn't they both be violent? Yossu thought to herself as she looked down at some small rocks in the sea below.
Yossu looked down at the city of Orgrimmar as she landed just outside the town. Well, this is interesting... thought to herself, attempting to figure out which way to the 'Warchief' of the Horde. The Warchief was supposed to be the leader of this faction, not a king like the Alliance has and definitely not what the Pandaren once had. As she walked through the city, she noticed a group of green-skinned and reddish-skinned children playing. They stopped and stared at her, confusion visible in their eyes. "You're one of the new recruits, right?" A boy asked scratching his head. "Yes." Yossu said, now confused as well. "Well, the Warchief doesn't like to have non-orcs here in this part of the city. You should probably leave..." The boy spoke this as if it were completely normal to segregate a city. Perhaps it was normal here.
Yossu quickened her pace and walked through this part of the city, making it to the end of the segregated zone faster than she had realized she could. She hoped this city would not have anything else that would disturb her. Unfortunately, she doubted that the Horde would be as hospitable as she had hoped. She had dared herself to believe that the Horde would be as welcoming as the Tauren that she had met for a brief moment on the back of Shen-zin Su. Either way, this was a new beginning for her. She would make the most of it.

002. Cause/Effect
As Yossu walked into the Warchief's chamber, she noticed many armed guards standing to protect the Warchief of the Horde. She looked around the room, trying to get a good look at the guards while still keeping from eye contact. Noticing a throne with the Pandaren assumed to be an orc upon it, she immediately walked up to it and bowed. "Emperor He---" Yossu was interrupted by a roar from the orc sitting on the throne in front of her. "Warchief!" He bellowed, making the Pandaren kneeling in front of him tremble. "Warchief Hellscream... I am one of the Pandaren that has come from The Wandering Isle. I..." Yossu shook when the Warchief bellowed, "Yes, I know who you are! You will view all those who join the Alliance as enemies. Former friends, former family, all those who you may have once cared about will no longer have your care. Do you understand?!" Yossu nodded quickly. "Then leave!" Warchief Garrosh Hellscream shouted at the quivering Pandaren.
As the new Pandaren recruit was escorted out, shaking with fear, the Warchief wore a stern face. "I don't trust her... I don't trust any of those... Pandamen... Watch them. Her especially." An unseen female shape nodded and seemed to disappear into the darkness, though a very sharp eye could tell that the female was an orc and that she was heading in the direction that the Pandaren had left in...

050. Graffiti
Janice Young was always amazed by the graffiti in the cities of the United Americas. It was taken down quickly, but the whole idea of art amazed Janice. She had never had the courage to do something so illegal, but she awed at the creations people made, sometimes even just with words. "Freedom" was the strange and foreign word she had seen scrawled on the wall of the Government Building. It was a word she had only heard in whispers from rebels, whispers stating that the Government had to go down. The fourteen year old knew that the Government was cruel and all of that, but she did not know how the rebels could win against it... She loved the idea of birds flying freely, animals allowed in houses (pets, they were once called), and especially art... Everything seemed caged here - The birds, the animals, the plants, and the people. Always the people. Occasionally you'd see a plant or two out of a container, but the next day it was gone...
Janice decided to rebel that day that she saw the graffiti. She helped lead a large rebellion, a rebellion of several million people from the country...It lasted for several years, but finally, just after Janice turned twenty, the Government, the massive dictatorship that had killed so many who even thought of creating art on walls or in their homes, was toppled. Janice was one of many who was not there to see it, having been killed by armed military guards in the final assault.

009. Orchards
Chaung looked around at all the strange people walking around this strange city. Stormwind was very interesting to her - full of people, animals, shops, strange mechanical creatures that called beings 'my primary female sibling' and 'my primary male sibling'.... Chaung was amazed at everything around her. She had just met with the king of Stormwind, gaining permission to work, fight, and live among the Alliance. In essence, she was one of them. The pandaren smiled slightly as she went to look around the city and its outskirts.
Chaung had looked around the city at the shops, stalls, people and animals, Trade District and Mage District. She was now looking outside the city at apple orchards, a farmer's stall closing for the day at the end of the nearby grove. The pandaren's stomach suddenly growled and she left for the nearest inn, pausing at a hilltop to watch the sun set on this beautiful new day of her new life...
