°°°ARMOR
- [Ascetic Utility Combat Suit] :
Having resembled the robes of monks, the armor was designed to promote ultimate mobility while providing a small amount of protective features. Thin body armor lay underneath the robes. The gauntlets carried a few conventional features such as a commlink array, small computer, neoteric grappling hook, and a holo-projector. His boots had an Anti-Gravity propulsion feature so that he could augment his jumping ability with or without the Force to reach astonishing heights or otherwise throw off an opponent. For combat, this feature could be activated to apply a serious amount of pressure to blast back to whomever he kicks. The belt, shin, gauntlets, and clavicle guards were constructed of cortosis (for defense against lightsabers).
Across his waist presided a sturdy kama. The kilt-like piece of flexible, anti-blast armor was worn from the waist, fastened to his belt with high quality durable snaps. Made of sturdy leather, it was good for protecting his legs against low-flying debris and shrapnel. When donning the kama, Shjen tended to stand up straighter, and the weight of a kama on the hips added a swagger to his unchecked gait. It was customized with personalized markings, tribal symbols native to his Ruusan clan. It also aided his stability in the more streamlined aerodynamic maneuvers.
The utility belt consisted of 4 holsters for lightsabers, connected in pairs by diagonal, parallel lines on the right and left sides of his waist. It was designed to hold various, assorted objects and technological features across its circumference.
°°°WEAPONS
- [Lightsabers] :
The weapons each consisted of a blade of pure plasma emitted from the hilt and suspended in a force containment field. The field contained the immense heat of the plasma, protecting the wielder, and allowed the blade to keep its shape. The hilt was almost always self-fabricated by the wielder to match his or her specific needs, preferences and style. For the first pair, the hilt is 10 inches long and the emitted plasma is 45 inches long. For the second pair, the hilt is 7 inches long and the emitted plasma is 45 inches long.
(I) Ruusan and (II) Case
Blade color: Bronze
The two on his right hip are identical in shape, size, structure, and design. This is the older pair of blades; generally more worn down but still good for use. The sabers are secured in adjacent locks within a double-holster. He utilizes either Ataru, Niman, or Shien when he normally wields them.
- Ruusan is the oldest lightsaber Shjen has. He scavenged the hull and miscellaneous parts off a crashed transport ship in Ruusan. It is his most trusted lightsaber; he constantly overviews its health and durability, patching it up whenever he feels he needs to.
Case is Ruusan's sister, originally having been the twin blade of Ruusan (before it was rebuilt). Shjen found it in good condition several years after rebuilding Ruusan, returning to the crash site to scavenge for more saber parts. He's since customized it so that it more closely resembles its rebuilt sister blade in both appearance and function.
(III) Ominouros and (IV) Infernotus
Blade color: Orange
Designed with offensive sith saber-styles in mind, the two dual-phase lightsabers on his left hip have shorter, condensed hilts compared to those on the right of his hip. These blades were much younger, and more lethal than his typical trusted pair, Ruusan and Case. He would typically utilize Jar'kai styles with these blades, turning his Juyo skills into Trispzest techniques.
°°°ABILITIES
Lightsaber Combat:
[Traditional Saber Forms]
Shien
Form V: Shien, also known as The Way of the Krayt Dragon, or The Perseverance Form, was the fifth of seven forms recognized as canon for lightsaber combat. It was developed by practitioners of Form III: Soresu who felt that the defensively-minded form would unnecessarily extend time spent in combat by forcing its users to wait for an opportunity to strike rather than create their own openings. However, Shien was not without its shortcomings—it was particularly weak against a single opponent.
Form V combat was characterized by power attacks and defense immediately followed by a counter-strike. Shien, considered the classical Form V, was more adept at blocking blaster bolts than its counterpart, Djem So. Shien was designed to use an opponent's attack against them, typically manifesting in it's focus on returning blaster bolts to their origin.
Disposition: Provocative and Indomitable. Form V was created by Form III masters who desired a more offensive style, since its defensive nature often led to prolonged combat, which was dangerous for the practitioners. Form V evolved into an accepted style by combining the defensive maneuvers of Form III with the more aggressive philosophy and tactics of Form II: Makashi.
Grip: Standard: Held normally, it is a two-handed grip held with moderate constriction. Inverted: Held backwards, the hand is clenched in a fist around the saber hilt, with the blade extending away from the body.
Stance: The typical Shien opening stance was a high guard position, with the lightsaber hilt held in a two-handed grip above the user's head and the blade angled upward and behind the user. The dominant leg was held back, enabling powerful step-through strikes to be utilized. Another Shien position consisted of a horizontal attack stance that was used to perform long, sweeping strikes to take down several enemies at a time.
Striking
The Shien slash is delivered much like a typical punch, but with a flexing of the wrist at the last second which tilts their knuckles inward, bringing the blade to bear very rapidly upon their target. This style of attacking often will confuse saber-users unfamiliar with the form, and that confusion is taken advantage of by the Shien practitioner.
Defense
Jedi of large stature often chose to use Form V, because it required less agility than other forms of lightsaber combat and made use of their natural strength and reach advantages. Power attacks were able to knock opponents back just through sheer kinetic force, throwing them off balance and leaving them vulnerable to further brute-force strikes and power blows that sought not just to penetrate Shjen's opponents' defense, but also to push them back and leave them unable to counter blows.
Sith Shien: Inverted Grip's Relation to Offensive Form
In the realm of the standard grip, Shien users were proficient in a maneuver referred to as the "Barrier of Blades," which defended the user from blaster-fire and redirected some of the incoming blasts. "Shien Deflection" was another technique familiar to users of that Form V variant, allowing practitioners to simultaneously deflect weapons fire and leap toward an opponent.
However, adepts like Shjen occasionally used the reverse Shien grip. It was an unorthodox variation of Form V where the wielder would hold the Lightsaber blade in an almost backward position, exposing the front.
The use of an inverted grip is a rare but effective means of outsmarting and overpowering an opponent. However, it essentially sacrifices all forward defense for speed and wide striking attacks. The technique is particularly useful against multiple opponents. While not requiring any particular or special variation in the lightsaber itself it was not uncommon for practitioners of this technique to make use of curved hilts. The added angle of the blade often gave adherents a considerable advantage and more range to their swings. The reversed grip forgoes virtually any forward deflection and parrying ability in order to focus purely on offense. It was also often combined with Jar'Kai in order to confuse an opponent with a mixture of backhanded and offhanded attacks.
Ataru
Form IV: Ataru, also known as the Way of the Hawk-Bat, or The Aggression Form, was the fourth of the seven forms of lightsaber combat. The history of Ataru stretched back through the Old Republic, to at least as early as the Mandalorian Wars, where it was commonly employed by Jedi of that, and also known to be employed by the Sith. An aggressive style, Form IV was fast-paced and effective against single opponents, though weaker in prolonged combat and confined spaces. Many times, a saberist will compliment this form with the defensive abilities of another style to round themselves out more.
Disposition: Soft and Aggressive. The Ataru adherent attempts to overwhelm their opponent with constant attacks and deft acrobatics, relying heavily upon distraction and dexterity to wear their opponent down enough so that they may be apprehended with ease.
Grip: Held in an almost relaxed grip, the Ataru stylist changes his grip based upon the maneuver. In general the flexibility in the grip is achieved by using half of the fingers held loosely and the other half held tightly, allowing for easy spins and slices.
Stance: The standard ready stance of Ataru is quite literally standing there. Some masters prefer to turn slightly sideways and bring their saber up in a gesture to show that they are ready, a mark of respect.
Striking: This form is very dynamic and somewhat aggressive. The form calls for a near constant attack stream, relying upon the saberists speed and persistence to overwhelm their enemy's defenses. Many acrobatic stunts are used to help catch the enemy off guard and to find gaps in their defenses that the Form IV adherent can access.
Defense: Unfortunately the constantly whirling attacks prove to leave the adherent somewhat undefended at many times and occasionally overextended. A larger adherent would likely find the weak defenses of Form IV a liability.
Juyo
The Juyo incarnation of Form VII was described as the most vicious form of lightsaber combat, filled with both fury and malignant grace. The form was known as most difficult and demanding form in all of saber combat, involving significant internal focus on the part of the user.
Disposition: Controlled and Deceptive. A Form VII practitioner maintains a calm exterior appearance, while experiencing significant internal pressure in using the Ferocity Form. In addition, it is sometimes paradoxical and unpredictable, as well as filled with concepts that made the form too difficult and unattractive to many students.
Grip: Held high on the hilt, this form alternates between tight and loose grips, sometimes even incorporating hand changes and reverse grips. The typical is to hold the first two fingers loosely, with the last two fingers and thumb held tight to facilitate the swirling strokes.
Stance: The form is known for relying upon the Force to guide them to advantageous positions. The Juyo adherent needs no stance, rather lashing out like a coiled serpent, to strike without warning.
Striking: The strikes of the Juyo form are fast, elegant, and flowing. Moving from one strike to another, and using their saber blades to cover their wide movements, this form is terrifyingly beautiful to watch. Deceptively graceful, the strikes snap from the whirling blade with stunning celerity and accuracy when needed.
Defense: Juyo users have 'showy' maneuvers built into their strikes, using whirling blades to defend their bodies as they enact volleys that cause other forms to be undefended and overextended.
[Advanced Technique Styles]
Tràkata
Tràkata has no blocks, no parries, no defenses. The only time a Tràkata adherent will ignite the blade is to land a killing blow. It is a physically demanding style. Oftentimes, the adherent will employ a combination of Force powers and hand-to-hand techniques together with other lightsaber forms they may know. For a lightsaber form, Tràkata is unique in that it completely avoids the typical standards of dueling.
Grip: Held relaxed in the off hand, alternating between tight and loose grips, sometimes even incorporating hand changes and reverse grips. The sabre is held in the off hand to lull the opponent into a false sense of security.
Stance: The Tràkata practitioner will stand facing the opponent, a mark of confidence. The saber arm is normally held closest the enemy but will depend on the enemy's style and the adherent's confidence. The starting stance of Tràkata is very elaborate, and varies from user to user, but the common point is that the tip of the saber blade or the emitter is universally pointed at the assailant.
Striking: Quick and lethal, this style relies heavily upon the flexibility of the wrist. Wide arcs and long stabs are used to land fatal, killing blows early in a fight.
Parrying: This style has no parries, blocks or defensive stances of any kind. The lightsaber is kept off except when used to attack the opponent. The Trakata adherent relies upon on external, non-saber defense.
Jar'kai
Jar'Kai was originally a style of swordplay that utilized dual blades, developed by the Yovshin Swordsmen was named for a city on Atrisia. The city of Jar'Kai was also the site where the original Jar'Kai dueling sabers were crafted and designed for the express purpose of being dual-wielded. This style predated the usage of lightsabers, but being designed to be practiced with swords, they were easily adapted. Over time, the word "Jar'Kai" became a blanket term for dual-blade combat in general, leading to the birth of the term "Jar'Kai tactic", which was to simply employ two blades in combat, regardless of whether one had received training in any dual-blade fighting style.
Grip: Held with the first two fingers loosely and the last two fingers and thumb tight to facilitate the swirling manner of the form. The hand is typically placed in the center of the grip.
Stance: With the feet squared beneath the shoulders the body is turned at a slight angle from the enemy, with the dominant shoulder back, the saber held up with the arm parallel to the ground, and the elbow bent. The offhand saber is held out in front of the body, typically at an angle to help defend the adherent.
Striking: Almost universally using the strength of the dominant arm, Niman adherents strike forward after the off hand has typically parried away the opponent's defenses, leaving the opponent open. In some cases the off hand attacks in tandem with the dominant hand, overbearing the opponent.
Defense: The offhand saber is typically used to block and push back an opponent's' strike, leaving a window of opportunity wide open for counter attack. Against the overhead strike it is commonly taught for the adherent to catch the blade in an 'X' block of their own sabers, locking the opponent's blade and allowing them to press down on their opponent.

- Force Sensitivity:
Defensive Attributes:
:❖: Force Sense: Manipulating the Force to feel another being's feelings, the future, ripples in the Force caused by momentous or traumatic events, impending danger and the presence of the dark side. A very useful and common trait among Force Sensitives.
Innate.
:❖: Force Body: Manipulating the Force to grant greatly enhanced strength, stamina, and regeneration. Heavily drains energy; designed for sparse use. Referred to by Shjen as "Force Adrenaline."
Sith Endurance technique.
:❖: Battle Meditation: Manipulating the Force to considerably boost the morale, stamina, and overall battle prowess of an individual's allies while simultaneously reducing the opposition's combat-effectiveness by eroding their will to fight. Battle meditation is effective when employed for the benefit of one's comrades in small skirmishes, attacks, and duels.
Asura Sith technique.
:❖: Force Sprint: Manipulating the Force to grant enhanced physical speed, reflex, and reaction time. Can be employed alongside Force Valor, stacking the effects, but doing such would push Shjen's stamina to identifiable limits.
Sith Assassin technique.
:❖: Detoxify Poison: Manipulating the Force to detoxify poisons or eject them from their body in a much shorter amount of time than would normally be possible. It could also be used to cleanse their body of alcohol, allowing the individual to remain sober while consuming vast amounts of the drink.
Jungle Marauder Sith technique.
:❖: Revitalize: Manipulating the Force to revitalize an exhausted, wounded or, unconscious user, or whoever the user directs it at. Being a Force-based power, it does not work on non-organics such as droids.
Exile technique.
:❖: Battlemind: Manipulating the Force to augment one's morale and fighting spirit through sheer focus, giving a user the drive to fight though even the hardest of conflicts. One could overcome the disabilities of old age and even fading stamina. Users of Battlemind could find themselves fighting with a great deal more fiery and controlled passion, thus it was not common among the more orthodox fighting styles of Jedi. Essential to use for Shjen to commit to more complex blade combat.
Exile technique.
:❖: Force Valor: Manipulating the Force to grant enhanced accuracy, speed, and power for a duration of time.
Exile technique.
Offensive Attributes:
:❖: Force Leap: Manipulating the Force to augment the user's natural leaping ability. Force-users adept in this technique could perform awe-inspiring vertical/horizontal leaps with impunity.
Innate.
:❖: Force Telekinesis: Manipulating the Force to able to telekinetically move oneself, other people, and material objects. Current Techniques: Pull; Push, Wave, Repulse, Whirlwind; Throw.
Innate.
:❖: Force Wound: Manipulating the Force to constrain the flow of life within organisms. Advanced techniques categorized under Force Wound generally require a lot of energy unless Shjen is touching his enemy, so it is most notably used for touch/contact in lightsaber and martial art techniques. Current techniques: Wound, Choke, Grip, Crush.
Sith Acolyte technique.
:❖: Force Slow: Manipulating the Force to cloud a target's mind, causing them to slow down both mentally and physically. Affliction worked much like a fast-acting poison, quickly debilitating the target. The effects of Affliction worsened over time and may cause death if the user is strong enough in the Force. Current techniques: Slow, Affliction
Sith Assassin technique.
:❖: Force Mind: Manipulating the Force to grant the following abilities:
Force Fear: The wielder would strike directly at the deepest parts of the target's mind, causing an uncontrollable shaking fear that would wreak havoc with the target's capabilities. Through pure force of will alone, a user could cause them to lose their courage completely, and if left undefended, the effects could be severe, rapidly demoralizing the enemy with a feeling of hopelessness and regret. Depending on the victim, it would caused them to either cower defenselessly or flee from their opponent outright. Sith Acolyte technique.
Force Horror: Force Horror enabled the Force user to cause multiple enemies to enter into a catatonic state of panic that was more severe and more difficult to defend than the basic Force fear. Sith Marauder technique.
:❖: Force Teleport: Manipulating the Force to carry one's person through space. Teleportation is a rare Force ability that enables the user to move from one place to another almost instantaneously. It also consumed a bit more energy than some powers and took a bit more time to master. May be used offensively or defensively. A favorite of Shjen's techniques. Current radius: 8 feet.
Exile technique.
:❖: Force Sense: Manipulating the Force to feel another being's feelings, the future, ripples in the Force caused by momentous or traumatic events, impending danger and the presence of the dark side. A very useful and common trait among Force Sensitives.

▬▬▬▬▬ Background
°°°HISTORY
- The infant survivor of a crash site, Shjen had been adopted and trained by a local chapter of the Ruusan Sith, known as the Asura. Growing up in an Austere and precarious environment had initially hardened his dispositions towards the universe. Even as he completed his assigned tasks, he felt a sense of alienation: he always knew he was adopted, and that his birth family was a far cry from the evil death-masters who nurtured him with caustic and frigid guidance. He grew to be one of the most proficient Marauders in his clan before they were wiped out by a score of Jedi. Coming home to view his desolated village and way of life in shambles, he assaulted the Jedi and eviscerated them within moments. He was only 16.
With his will lost, he wept for days in the mud, not knowing what to do. After a week passed, he woke up in a new area: a small shack located a considerable distance away from his village. He was greeted by the Exile, a Dark Jedi who took the young, confused Sith under her wing. After a few years of reforming himself and studying under her tutelage, he took a pilgrimage to the crash site where he was found - the place where the Exile said would reveal to him many of his life's secrets. Since then, she mysteriously disappeared, leaving him only the order of tracking her down and finding her, as well as his old Sith master of equally mysterious origin, who had only visited the Asura twice an orbit.
