Right, seeing as I'm the only one member here... here is my ideas.

1. We should have like little icon like things. When you click on it, it takes you to the guild.

2. We should have a forum or two to seek out other members that like FF8 and/or willing to spend some time to improve the guild.

3. I think that we need to make a small difficulty like change, like things are easier to learn in the academy then in the outside world.

4. As a Soldier, i do apologies if my sudden disappearance stunted the guild into a coma... but i like to also finish the alpha event.

I like your ideas.

To advertise properly we would need a subtitle. Or maybe we don't, I know I'll be thinking of one. The icons to go to the guild is a good idea.

Idea number two has a point, but we might run into the same problem with the previous members. Some of which have left or are just not responding to the rp. Not that I am angry, I'm not. I expected this to happen and let it slide because of the chaotically changing nature of the rp. Well its in alpha. And.. Frankly we need to make sure new members know that things will change, and if they don't like the frequency in which they may or may not change, then they don't have to be here.
At first I only wanted a few members at a time during the alpha, but perhaps we should do away with that notion and get as many people as possible. And those who like what we do will stay, those that don't will leave and that's that.

Idea number three is a really good point. I do agree with that for speeding them out of the academy and into the world, but mind you we shouldn't make it too easy or they might have trouble getting through monsters on the world map.

Don't worry, like I said, I figured I should just let the place go on the hiatus it has been on. But now is a good time to help it spring back into routine.

1. I think a subtitle would help as a back up measure, but click-able icons and spreading the word will help out greatly. I can suggest this guild to many others, but i will run the risk of being kicked from a few.

2. I know some people will like it and some people won't, but it's an understandable process. remember, it took 1k tries to make the light bulb a success. I think we should stride to make the guild a great place, Fun and always running.

3. I'm not talking about making it too easy or too hard, i played FF8 and it was easy as pie. ((Yum!)) But i think that some things must go up and some must come down, like a questionaire. If you want average gil for a successful test, make over 70 on the test. If you want x2 amount of gil, A+ the test.

All in all, I think that we need to give some people motivation. like bonus money, slightly extra EXP, items and stuff... also, taking an idea from a digimon guild i'm in, they have a post reward system. Like...

50 posts = 0.5+ in next battle
100 posts = choose one shop item with a price under 100 gil
Etc.

A subtitle will set us apart from other ff8 rps and guilds (Dunno if there are any or not, but still.)

I've tried questionnaires in the past, they just don't really go all that well. Especially if you make them do it ICly. *shrugs*
Instead of making it required that you have to fill out a questionnaire, it would just be simpler to request feedback on whatever is on the players mind. Express what they don't like, and assume what isn't talked about is probably good to go, or low on the priority list of things to change.
That being said we are always willing to hear ideas from players.

"If you want average gil for a successful test, make over 70 on the test. If you want x2 amount of gil, A+ the test."
Overall not a bad idea, giving out bonus stuff, but it may be completely case by case, as we can't really grade people like the game would. Giving them some bonus gold ICly for IC actions might come into play as well in the future.

"50 posts = 0.5+ in next battle
100 posts = choose one shop item with a price under 100 gil
Etc"
I don't really want to make this about who has the most posts. I almost feel that would discourage people from posting paragraphs, and would have them just post quickly. Not only to get more gold from the generator, but to get the post incentives.
Maybe though, giving people based on how many lines are in their post, and what the context of their post is would be fair. Like if they wrote a particularly witty post, or did something particularly creative in their post. Or posted four paragraphs in one post,as an example. I could definitely find myself rewarding players for these practices.
