The day started off like any other in Meltokio until a strange vortex opened up within the slums. Stepping out from it was a girl wearing a pink dress with a red jacket over it. She also wore brown boots, and metal bracers on her wrists and around the edges of her jacket sleeves. She had long brown hair that was in a braided ponytail with a pink ribbon holding it up. Within the ribbon was a materia, which had belonged to her mother. Where am I? She thought to herself as her emerald green eyes glanced around the area. The sight of the slums did remind her of the slums in Midgar. She did miss having to tend to her flowers at the church in Sector 5, though she knew what she had to do as the last of the Cetra. However, she could sense that something was off, though she was unsure as to what it was. Whatever it could be, she had the feeling that it wasn't anything good. Especially since Sephiroth currently has the Black Materia in his possession.

A portal opened near the fork between the path to the Iselia Human Ranch and the path to Dirk's house, then a blonde male in red armor stepped out. "Now where are we?" He asked, having assumed that the other dragoons had followed him. He looked over his shoulder to see no sign of them. "What the!?" He took a moment to look around the area. "Rose! Albert! Miranda! Meru! Haschel! Kongol!" He called out in hopes that his friends were nearby, though it was to no avail. It would seem that he couldn't go back where he came from either. Was this all some sort of trap? May as well keep moving. I'm certain the others will find a place to meet up at. He took a moment to look around his surroundings, though nothing seemed to be familiar to him. Which way shall I go? He thought to himself.

It would seem that she had appeared at some sort of mountain. She was hoping that this was the place where she recieved the distress signal. However, she didn't pick up any sort of signal around the area at all. She couldn't help but feel that she may have wandered into an unexplored area in the Dinosaur Planet. She started to make her descent down the mountain, then soon spotted what seemed to be a village nearby. "Fohxufj kxo adxurakudkj xoho seict xocf mo." She said to herself as she made her way over.

As she looked around, she didn't seem to recognize where she was. She soon spotted a town far off in the distance and began to make her way towards it. "Hmmmm..." A young man in heavy armor appeared not far off from the female figure appearing outside Sybak, examining his surroundings.
"This world feels tainted somehow... Bolas may have something to do with it..." He continued to look about himself before noticing there was another person nearby, sensing the all too familiar mana of a mage. He ran towards this energetic feeling, hoping that they could tell him something about this world, and if they knew anything about the tainted mana he felt coming from the earth.

"Ugh, where am I?" A young woman with hair as red as flame stood slowly, looking around the area. She was standing in the midst of a snow covered land, with the light of a nearby town not far in the distance. Unfortunately her attire had changed to her old battle gear, and the flame print bikini was not going to provide any real protection against the cold and wind. Without a second thought she bolted for the town, hoping to get there before hypothermia could set in.

Quote and Curly
Armed Recon Robots

══════════════════════════
Location: Skies above the Otherworldly Gate | Company: Curly Brace, Balrog, Unknown Person (Leon)

Two robots, Quote and Curly Brace, flew through the skies on the back of their winged companion, Balrog. The riding robots had the appearance of young humans, and Balrog somewhat resembled either a toaster or a bar of soap. It would certainly be a strange sight, but not as strange as the floating island that they had just left.
"It's so nice up here!" Curly looked eagerly at the lands and clouds below them. Quote nodded in agreement, holding onto his hat. "We can see all of the clouds, and have a nice view of the..." Curly's face, normally smiling, took on a concerned expression as the world around them suddenly shifted and their flight faced sudden turbulence. Quote's face was as neutral as ever, but he looked down and tapped his hand on Balrog's back. The rectangular robot was clearly struggling to stay in flight, and his eyes had starting spinning.
"Wha-where are we? Have I been beaten again? Uh..." Balrog started tumbling through the air, flying haphazardly over the sea and throwing Quote off. Curly managed to hold on, but barely.
"Quote! What's happening?!..." Curly and Balrog tumbled away toward a body of land at too high a speed for Quote to match. He gazed in the direction that they had fallen with a grave look. He was sure that they would survive- Curly's machine gun was powerful enough to defy gravity, and Balrog was tough- but he would need to reunite with them later.
Quote activated his jetpack, the Booster V 2.0, firing it in short bursts to slow his descent. Below him was a triad of strange stone pillars. Standing near them was an unfamiliar figure. Quote continued his descent, cautiously coming in for landing several feet from the figure. Few humans that he had encountered had been hostile, but he kept his distance nonetheless. He awaited the reaction of the person, wondering where he was and how he could reunite with his companions.

As Dart pondered which way to go, a rift in space tore open at the path's fork, in front of the entrance to the abandoned ranch. A large, strangely-dressed man leapt out of the portal, which swiftly closed behind him.
"There's no need to shout, now!" He struck a pose, extending his left arm in Dart's direction and holding the other above his head. "Do not fear, citizen! It is I, the famed wandering swordsman, Gilgamesh!"
Noticing the equipment of the "citizen," Gilgamesh pointed in his direction with both hands. "What's this? A fellow swordsman!" Barely allowing Dart to get any words in, Gilgamesh summoned a sword the color of centuries-old dust and blood into his hand with a flash of light. Continuing to make exaggerated gestures with his other hand like some sort of crazed fencer, he brandished it at Dart, hopping and running in his direction in an unusual sort of charge.
"Let's test our skills and compare blades, like men! Or ladies! Or ladies who dress like men! Have at you!"

Vash the Stampede
The Humanoid Typhoon

══════════════════════════
Location: Triet desert | Company: Nobody

With a look of determination, the infamous outlaw Vash the Stampede walked through the desert, his red coat waving in the wind as he carried a giant canvas-wrapped cross toward his final confrontation. Suddenly, he noticed a shift in his surroundings. He was still in a desert, but something was wrong. He lowered his orange sunglasses, examining the sand for a moment. "That's strange. I could have sworn that I just jumped through space or something. I guess I'm just feeling light..." His gaze turned to his now-empty hands, then behind him. There floated, as if held by an invisible man, the cross. Rippling with a strange, pearly energy, it started floating away. "That doesn't even make any... Gah! Come back here!" All pretenses of being a stoic outlaw dropped as Vash ran and leapt at the floating cross, which flickered and disappeared, leaving Vash on the ground with a mouthful of sand. It reappeared and disappeared again, flickering and warping away through the desert before finally disappearing.
Spitting out sand and brushing off his spiky hair, Vash rose and ran a few steps before stopping and staring in the direction that the floating cross had gone. He stood there for a long while in disbelief, and seemed to be having some sort of internal struggle. Would he go after it, or continue toward his final battle? After some thought, he sighed in acceptance.
"Even if it's floating for some reason, that thing is still so heavy. Wolfwood... I'll find it." He walked into the desert once more, seeking that which he had lost.

He knew it was a bad idea. Every warning bell, signal flare, and red flashing light in his head told him to stop the madness. And considering he was the wild child of their little group made it seem even more important to listen to his head, yet against every instinctual warning, he went along with Lee's plan. And now he was paying the price.

He landed in a tree and was now tangled up in some vines. At least he hoped they was vines, either way he was stuck so he did the only think he could think of. "IS SOMEBODY OUT THERE? HEEEEEELP!" Unfortunately his idea brought along some unwelcome guests in the form of some hungry looking wildlife... and him strung up like a pinata didn't help him look any less appetizing. Painful was the only word Lee could come up with that described the situation he was in. Out of all the miscalculation, mistake, misinterpitations, or just unknown factors of tampering with the Null Chamber teleportation... Falling from the sky and landing face down in the middle of a desert was never even thought of as one of the factors. Looking back on it though he should have, dealing with transporting physical matter over a 'rift' in space-time, was not an easy task afterall. He rolled over an gazed up at the sky and began to get his barings.

He was alone since he couldn't hear yells of profanities of Lord or the more polite, yet no less angry, grumbles of Major. He was in pain no doubt from the fall from the sky, sure the sand dampened the impact but it still hurt like he slammed into a wall, luckly he felt nothing broken though he did feel bruised and beaten. He was also dressed in black under the scorching desert sun, he predicted if he laid in the sand long enough he would die from dehydration. "Need to get out of the sun."

He slowly got up and cracked his neck and dusted off the majority of sand before looking around and notice someone in the distance, deciding to try the friendly approach first, he started walking towards the red clad man.

The landing was perfect, the location however could have been better. Though the view of the town and snow landscape from atop of a catheadral was breath taking, it did leave him with a bit of a problem. "How am I suppose to get down?" he muttered. After a few minutes of looking around trying to think of an escape route, he sighed '...this is going to take a while.' He was about to sit down, only to miss his footing and slip off the roof. Let it be known that the second landing was far from graceful, a lot more painful and far larger audience. "I stand corrected." Major groaned as he got up and looked around, he was getting quite a few stares from the local populace. "This place... Looks strange." He started walking into Flanoir ignoring the stares, and already forgetting the pain of the fall.

Mamizou Futatsuiwa
The Uncaught Tanuki Disguiser
~
Current Form: Human

Location: Near Sybak
Company: Unknown Girl (Tear Grants) and Unknown Man (Cross Malacki)

A portal, or rather a gap, opened up over an empty field near Sybak. Out of it came Mamizou Futatsuiwa, Gensokyo's well known bake-danuki. As she exited the portal she positioned her large, fluffy tail so that it was between her and the ground, allowing her to spring off it and land on her feet once she came through. Once she was standing, the portal closing as she left it, Mamizou got a good look at the layout before her. "Hmm..." Mamizou thought about what sort of place she could be in; it certainly didn't make her think of Sado right off the bat, but of course she could be anywhere. Anywhere.

As she surveyed the area she noticed two people rather close by to her. A sneaky grin came over her face as she said to herself,
"Well, I guess I should really hide my appearance." Mamizou snapped her fingers and she disappeared in a puff of smoke. The smoke cleared rather quickly, revealing her in her new human form [See link above for more details]. She proceeded to make her way towards the two, hoping a little that they had not seen her transformation.

As Mamizou came closer to the two, she waved her hand in the air and called out to them.
"Hello! Hello over there!" Mamizou called to them. "Do you think you two could help me? I seem to be lost." Mamizou did feel lost, but she felt sure she would know where she was as soon as she was given her current location. If she was given her currently location.

Zaul Oleander
The One-Eyed Gunman
══════════════════════════
Location: Hima | Company: None

Experiencing a fair start to his day, Zaul Oleander walked away from the small commerce area of the mountain village stuffing his earnings in his money pouch with a smirk of satisfaction. He had gotten a pretty good haul for the first time in ages, selling off the pelts and crafting materials he had harvested from monsters. The Dwarves that had decided to take temporary refuge in the village were his most gracious customers.

The first thought on his mind was to snag an extravagant lunch, but that was still a few hours away. He supposed the best thing he could do with his free time now was to check the bulletin board at the tavern for any sort of job offer. Mercenary work in the form of escorting seemed to be in demand these days, what with the monsters behaving more dangerously for some reason.

Jade Curtiss
The Necromancer
══════════════════════════
Location: Near Hima (along the mountain path)
Company: Some sort of fox-woman. (Krystal)

What a strange predicament the Necromancer found himself in.

He had been requested to investigate what apparently was some kind of fonic disturbance detected within the forest known as Mushroom Road. While navigating through its maze-like paths, he chanced upon a tunnel that led straight into the ground. He hadn't recalled ever coming across this passage before, but he supposed it was just an area of the forest he'd never seen.

As he walked just a short ways into the tunnel, he noticed the forest's usual purple haze disappear around him almost instantly. The darkness had also become deeper, for a distance not too far from the entrance. As he turned around to look toward it once more, he was inwardly surprised to find himself facing nothing more than a wall of dirt and stone.

Any ordinary person would start panicking right about now, but Jade remained calm. After all he had been through, there was very little capable of shocking him. In fact, the situation only sparked curiosity.

Turning in the other direction, he noticed the familiar, soft orange glow of fire. Drawing closer to it, he found the source to be torches mounted along the walls; following them, he soon found an exit. What he saw once he was outside surprised him a little more. The tunnel didn't lead to another part of Mushroom Road, it led him to...the side of a mountain? He walked over to a ledge by the path, attempting to get better bearings on where he ended up. Looking down, he noticed a village...but it was unfamiliar to him. He didn't recall any town set at the foot of a mountain anywhere in Auldrant. Perhaps it was newly built? No, that sort of thing would have been in the news from its conception.

Breaking his thought-filled silence was the sound of soft footsteps behind him. Turning to see who it could be, he found himself looking at a woman—or was it a monster? The form was humanoid, but there were strong animalistic features. Most notably, the fur and the fox-like head and tail. He couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't a person wearing a costume...it looked too organic to be that.

In any case, he wasn't perceiving any air of hostility from her, so he didn't feel any need to be on the defensive. He wasn't even sure if she was capable of speech; it was just a guess judging by the articles of clothing she wore over her fur. Decency was something the civilized practiced. Anyhow, there was nothing to lose in this attempt to communicate. "Why, hello there. Might you be able to tell me where I am?" he asked, with his ever-present cheerful but calm smile.

Maka Albarn - Soul Eater Evans
Location Exire > Hima || Mood Lost, Thoughtful > Worried, Hungry, Tired Hungry, Tired, Irritated > Paralyzed || Company No one directly
Mana 100% 100% || Stamina 5% 32% || Overlimit 0%

"Hey, come on! I'm hungry!" "So, what? Just because they can be witches, they're bad? Soul, our job as a meister and weapon is to protect the good from evil. Their souls are pure. If you eat them, you'll become a kishin. Besides, everyone here is afraid. I don't think they get visitors up here often. We should just stay here and rest. Once we're down, we'll find a place to eat." Soul growled, but listened to her. She was right. "What'd I give to have Blair with us. She has eight souls left, doesn't she? I could have a few and be good as new." "Hey, what about me!? I'm hungry, too! Without me, we can't get out of here! Why are you always so--Oh, wait." Maka reached into her jacket and pulled out a candy bar, smiling. "You had something to eat? When were you going to tell me?" "Back off. This is mine. I bought it with my money, and it's not even enough to fill one person." Soul grumbled and just sat against a rock, his head down. "...Fine. We'll split it. Don't eat it all in one bite, though. It's all I got." Splitting the candy bar in half, she gave Soul his and sighed. They were going to be stuck up here forever. "...Hey, is it just me or are these guys starting to get some courage?" Maka looked up to see some of the people standing at the edge of the platform with swords and spears. There were only a few, and they were still scared. "No. It's fear. They want us out of here. And, I think we better go. We'll just let ourselves fall and when we're close enough, I'll use the energy I have to use the Grigori Soul ability." Soul sighed. "I don't like running away. If these people want a fight, then they'll get one." Turning his arm into a scythe blade again, Soul got ready to fight but Maka stood in front of him. "Soul, stop it! It's obvious these people are terrified, and fighting them isn't going to help anything! I don't know why, but I feel they came up here to get away from something. It's best we just leave and let these people get back to their lives in peace." Maka glared at Soul, and he soon gave in and turned, crossing his arms. "Fine. Here. If we're going to pull this off, you'll need all the energy you can get right now. I'll just eat when we're down on solid ground." Once Maka had eaten the candy bar, Soul turned into a scythe and she looked back at the people. They were still making sure she left. Jeez, these people weren't concerned at all. But, maybe it was because they figured the Grigori Soul she talked about would help them live. "Alright. Here goes everything."

Well, the plan didn't go as bad as it could have. Sure, Maka ran out of energy before they reached the ground, but it was only a couple feet up, so no damage was sustained. "I'm exhausted....I should learn to carry my lunch with me at all times." "Maka, behind you!" The ash-blonde stood and turned quickly, just dodging an attack from a...bird. Well, it looked like a chicken, but it was large and reptilian. "What the heck is this thing? It's definitely not a kishin." "Well, it's not human. That makes this thing my dinner. Let's just kill it so I can eat it's soul before I starve to death." Maka glared down at Soul, but it wasn't like she had a choice. She had to kill it before it killed her. It has to be a quick fight. I won't be able to fight for long before all my energy is drained. If only I hadn't agreed to train with Black☆Star and Tsubaki. The chicken-lizard charged at her and Soul, and Maka blocked it's attack with Soul's handle before jumping up and cutting at it. She managed to clip it's neck, but not enough to kill it. "Where are you aiming, Maka!?" "I'm the one doing all the fighting, and I'm tired! Don't scold me about my aim right now!" Maka jumped back to dodge an attack that looked like a mini tornado before falling to her knees. "It's no good. I'm too tired and hungry to fight. Plus, my legs hurt." The chicken-lizard charged at her, but Soul transformed again and turned both his lower arms into blades before standing in front of Maka. "Back off. There's no way I'd let an animal hybrid freak touch my meister. Maka, just stay there. This won't take long." And, it didn't. Soul had more energy than Maka, so he was able to kill the thing in just a couple minutes. Once he was done, Maka stood and walked over to him. "Thanks, Soul." "Hey, that's what weapons do. Besides, this thing has one tasty-looking soul." Reaching out, Soul grabbed it and drooled. "...Wait, Soul, you shouldn't eat--" Too late. It was done. Make sweat-dropped; she felt something was wrong with that soul. "See? No harm done. You worry too much, Maka. It's just a--Uh, oh." Soul fell and groaned before Maka knelt in front of him. "...I can't feel my body." "Well, what did you expect!? You ate the soul of a creature we've never seen before!...Well, let's just get you to a town or something. I'm sure there's one nearby." And, there was. Maka had to drag Soul by his arms, but she couldn't carry him. He was too heavy in his human form, and too paralyzed to even talk right. When she reached to village, she looked around. It was...small. Really small. But, still lively. Mostly with people that were most likely travelers, since they were selling things like pelts and materials to the merchants. "...Um, excuse me! Can anyone help us? My friend is paralyzed!" And, I'm too exhausted to help him.

[[ Longer than I wanted, but I'm playing for a duo in a single post, so....Yeah. And, totally just winged it. ]]

"How did I get here?" She whispered to herself, rubbing her arms and chest as she thought about what she'd seen on the way into the village. She was obviously in a very cold climate, what with all the snow, but she wasn't sure how the people survived out here. She didn't see any herd animals or farms, which meant they either hunted wild game or needed trade goods to survive.

Yuan Ka-Fai
Guardian of the World Tree
══════════════════════════
Location: The World Tree | Company: None

Yuan's mood had been that of slight unrest ever since his last visit from Emil and the subsequent reports from his subordinates about happenings around the world. Dwarves being forced to the surface because poisonous gas had filled their homes...vast "evil" shadows of indeterminate origin covering lands... He was pretty sure why this was happening—it was all connected to the demons fighting more viciously to break free of their confinement—but was at a loss for what exactly to do about it. The Great Tree sapling was giving its all in producing mana, but it still could not generate it at a fast enough rate to strengthen the rest of Niflheim's barrier.

On top of that, time itself seemed to be skewed as of late. He could swear the current hours were that of evening, and yet the sky was still as bright as late morning. He couldn't connect how that would be related to the Niflheim ordeal.

For several days straight since that earthquake that rocked the world, Yuan never left the sapling's side. It hadn't yet shown any signs of being affected by these anomalies and he was sure it would remain okay for the most part—after all, mana is poison to demons, so approaching a pure source of it is nothing short of suicidal on their part—but he couldn't shake the feeling that something could still happen.

And perhaps his suspicions were about to prove themselves right. He could sense something drawing closer to where he was. This was cause for concern, for how could it have infiltrated the magical barrier he set up?

Kratos Aurion and Azura Cantarella
The Traitor to Heaven and the Azure Shadow
══════════════════════════
Location: Near the World Tree | Company: No one but themselves.

Outside the forest surrounding the World Tree, a light swirling with the colors of blue and orange formed into the shape of a large paper-like rip in the air. Then, with a flash and a crack like lightning and thunder, it instantly expanded into a large, circular hole.

Standing around the center of the hole was a small, blue-skinned woman who had her arms outstretched to her sides. She appeared to be wearing circular devices attached to the backs of her gloves, that were glowing the same blue and orange. Behind her was Kratos Aurion, a much taller man with auburn hair...and the scenery of Welgaia, a city of Derris-Kharlan. The man looked on at the spectacle she had conjured with an expression of subtle but genuine awe.

"Well, go ahead! Go right on through!" the woman encouraged, her voice loud and echoing as a result of standing in the interdimensional portal, "I'll have you know, it's terribly hard to hold this open for very long!" She appeared to be struggling, as if trying to keep an enormous weight from closing in on them both.

Heeding her word, the man began to walk ahead of her, though with a careful and seemingly reluctant gait, almost as if he were afraid to pass through. Perhaps he was, but it wouldn't exactly be for reasons like getting caught in the portal. Once he set both his feet upon the grass of the field, the lady that was holding it open jumped right through herself. With a whoosh and a softer crack, the portal shrank shut behind her.

Kratos swept his glance over the surroundings. "This area...is exactly where I departed from this world..." he uttered before he fixed his eyes upon the nearby forest, "That was where the Tower of Salvation once stood...and now, where the World Tree grows." His tone was that of disbelief. His mind was slowly wrapping around the fact that after such seemingly simple procedures, he was back where he came from. He was...home.

The small woman chuckled, bearing a smug, fangly grin. "So the coordinates were right on the dot, eh? What'd I tell ya? Chartreuse's tech is that good, heheh!" After a pause, her demeanor made a sudden shift to timidness. "Um...so what's our next course of action now, Sir Kratos?"

The seraph turned his gaze from the forest to give her a look of slight puzzlement. "'Our'?"

She laughed nervously, starting to fidget with her hands. "Y-yes, sorry to be so imposing! I know I could explore on my own and all, but I feel as if I wouldn't waste too much time wandering around aimlessly by traveling with someone who knows the place! B-besides, I swear I'll let you lead the way entirely with no complaints."

Keeping his stare trained on her, he took a couple of moments to think. "...Very well. It is likely you might run into some trouble while on your own simply because of your appearance. People can be quick to meet that which they fear and do not understand with hostility."

She nodded in agreement. "Indeed. My kind doesn't exist here, does it?"

"Exactly." Another quick pause, before he declared, "It's rather convenient that we've ended up here. An old friend of mine spends most of his time guarding the World Tree. I'm sure he's there even now, thus I can consult him for the information I need."

Feeling less anxious now, the lady smiled warmly and folded her arms in confidence. "Sounds like a plan. Please, lead the way, sir."

The two turned toward the forest and started to head in.

As she looked around, Aeris spotted a blonde girl standing in the shadows. Is she with Shinra? She thought to herself. The girl was wearing some sort of military-type uniform, which would give the impression that she could be. Then again, she didn't recall ever seeing uniforms that were close to the blonde girl's. Maybe she was either with Shinra or just in disguise. Either way, Aeris was lost and needed the help she could get. She decided to approach the girl. "Hello there. I don't suppose you know where we are, do you?" She asked.

Dart's eyes widen a bit when he saw the rift tore open closeby, which had the red-clad swordsman grab the hilt of his sword. He watched as a strange-looking man stepped out from it, who introduced himself to be Gilgamesh. "Gilgamesh? Sorry, I haven't heard of you before." He said. It was then Gilgamesh had summoned his sword, and apparently wanted to test out his skills as a swordsman. However, he wasn't given the chance to speak when the strange man charged at him. He had no other choice but to accept the man's challenge. I wonder how good his skills are. He thought to himself. Drawing out his sword, he ran in attempt to deliver two slashes at Gilgamesh. "Double Slash!" However, he soon heard the sound of someone crying out for help. "Hey, Gilgamesh, was it? Could we postpone this challenge? There's someone out there who needs our help." Even though it didn't sound like any of his dragoon companions, he wanted to help regardless.

Spotting a figure approach her, Tear came to a stop and was ready to draw out a knife. Even though she was unsure if this person was friend or foe, she wasn't one that would really let her guard down. Upon closer inspection, the figure turned out to be a young man wearing heavy armor. It was more than likely that he could be a native. Putting away her knife, she gazed at the male. She was about to speak when she heard a voice call out to them, which had her look over to see a young girl approach them. It turned out that the girl was lost like she was. "Unfortunately, I have gotten myself lost as well. I'm sorry." She said in a calm tone then glanced back at the armored male. "Do you happen to know where we are?"

Seras hadn't expected the woman to walk right over to her, but she tried not to show it.
"Slum district of some city called Meltokio. At least that's what the sign read." She looked Aeris up and down, "I suppose the short answer to you next question is no, I don't know where Meltokio is in relation to whatever place you're going to ask about, because I've been trying to find my way back to London for the last three days and haven't found even a hint that anywhere from my world exists here. So wherever you've come from, welcome to a whole new world." Seras hoped that this girl was understanding everything she said. Someone walked by with a mirror and she had to duck to avoid a beam of light that came off it, watching the trail of sunlight pass just over her head.

"You mean you don't know? I had assumed you were a native of this plane. Your mana is similar enough to this place." He looked at the other newcomer, then at the surrounding area.
"Plains typically have settlements, since they're the easiest places to convert to farmland." He thought aloud, turning and examining everything, before looking back to the two of them, "It would probably be for the best that we find somewhere safe to continue our discussion. I have a feeling this place harbors beasts that we would be better off not meeting."

Quote didn't seem like any sort of king as he stood silently. Now that he was standing on the ground and facing Leon directly, he seemed like a boy, and one whose face showed little emotion or reaction to the circumstances.
The robot, after glancing at Leon for a few long moments, pointed skyward, in the direction that his friends had been spiraling toward when they had parted. Perhaps Leon would have seen something that Quote had not.

Gilgamesh's swing clashed with Dart's own, sending sparks flying. "Help, you say? Surely it is an ambush! Let us go posthaste! I'll take on your whole little band!"
He jumped back and several feet into the air, seemingly to dodge a nonexistent blow and, judging by his windup, possibly attempt some sort of throwing attack. However, he had apparently not taken the time to observe his surroundings. His jump caused him to fall and tumble down the steep slope on the side of the path.
"We... shall... fight... on... the... bridge! We... shall... never... surrend-" Gilgamesh's eagerness to fight (and talk) was clearly not being diminished by his fall, but it would take some time for him to return. It was a perfect opportunity for Dart to leave and assist the person in need if he so chose.

He ran and jumped in for a tackling hug. Whether this succeeded or not, he would plow into the sand once again. "You brought donuts, right? In case you came across an innocent, starving man in the desert?" He smiled hopefully.

Zaul was just about halfway to the tavern when he noticed the cries of someone at the village entrance. Turning his head in the direction he heard her voice, he saw a girl of ash-blonde hair...who was holding by the wrists a sickly-looking, white-haired boy lying on the ground. Their clothing seemed a little strange to him—in all his travels around the world, reunited even, he hadn't seen anyone else sport a similar fashion.

Picking up speed, he dashed up to the pair, waving. "Ey!" Stopping right before them, he continued, "'Ah got a healin' spell on me, ma'am." Putting on that smile again, he gave a shrug with his hands raised before him, replying, "I'm afraid I don't understand a thing you're saying. However, I did notice you mention the word 'planet'." He put his hands in his pockets again. "Might you be able to speak a language closer to mine?"

Maka was relieved when someone ran over to them. He was...strange-looking, but it wasn't like she was one to talk. She and Soul stuck out like a lake in the middle of a desert. When the other got to them, Maka gave a smile before listening to him. A spell? This guy was a witch? But....His soul didn't indicate that at all. He could be using Soul Protect, but he just admitted to knowing a spell, so it was kind of useless to keep his soul hidden in that case. "I think he'd like being carried more than dragged. Thank you so much." A bed or something actually sounded good, but she was here for Soul, not herself. "I'm sorry we bothered you. My name's Maka, and this is my friend, Soul."

A very tall figure wearing a coat draped over his shoulders as a cape walks slowly into view of Yuan, approaching the sapling of the world tree. The figure is easily over two meters in height, with gray skin and elvish ears. From his chest portrudes a large exsphere with chains coming out of it leading to the coat, keeping it draped over him. Finally, the figure wears a strange hat on his head with a decoration on the left side that looks like small feathers attached to a red gem. The figure kneels down and looks closely at the sapling, lost in concentration to the point that he doesn't acknowledge Yuan's existence.

"Hmmmm... doesn't look like the corruption has spread to the sapling...I have to test this..."
