Vayne's room is draped in a dull, gray array of patterns and subtle violet undertones. As opposed to most of the crew quarters, Vayne's room sits between the male and female wing, across from his vice-commander Alice's personal quarters. It contains a king-sized bed a large personal washroom, several closets, a personal mini-fridge and microwave, multiple cloaks and katars, and an emergency alarm button in case of an intruder. Hidden cameras patrol the room and sound the alarm at the sight of anyone but Vayne or Alice unless a key code is entered at least 15 seconds prior.

Vayne fell onto his bed without disrobing or acknowledging Pharilis. He near-instantly went to sleep, too tired to think of the Madness remedy or locking the door. Pharilis, however, manifested himself and tucked Vayne in before nodding off as well.

TELLAI NOCTURNUS RELIX

Water. . . . . .Arctic Heart. . . . . .Air

User Image"Etsu'u, tem nakt set bu'ur. . ." The words slid off of the small Elf-kin's lips and tongue like water over rocks. Her form appearing from a water portal in the floor just outside of Vayne's door. She poked her head up from the floorboards opened by the portal. Gazing around, she noticed every key detail around herself, scanning the place to be sure that no one would interfere with her work.

Accepting that none were around, Tellai pulled herself from the portal, water sliding off her aqua blue flesh, the pores of her skin filled with water, freezing the pores open with the water inside. She stepped completely free of the portal, ice covering the ring and the floorboards returning to their previous location. Tellai slipped into Vayne's room, silent as still water in a pond. She stood right beside his bed, staring at him in confusion. What was it that she saw in that cell? What did she feel?

She wasn't sure, but she was damn sure that she would find out. She held her hand out towards Vayne, a chilling gust of arctic air snapping at his rear, like a tiny whip of icy air. Enough to startle him into awakening.

Vayne's eyes shot open with the speed of a panicked beast as his hand shot towards Tellai's neck. Upon realizing who it was that awoke him, Vayne realized he had forgotten to set the alarm system and laid back down, focusing his attention on the would-be intruder. "Tellai...you know better than to wake me so suddenly. What do you need?" Vayne's shadow peeked slightly out of the bed, glaring at Tellai with tired, child-like eyes.

TELLAI NOCTURNUS RELIX

Water. . . . . .Arctic Heart. . . . . .Air

User Image"Something is different about you, master. Something dark." Tellai moved her hand to her neck, a small burn mark had been made upon her flesh from the heat of the man's hand. Whether he knew it or not, he was burning up, his skin felt like coals fresh from a fire to her frosty skin. The water in her pores evaporating rapidly to even out the temperature. It hurt, but she was used to pain.

Her eyes peered at the shadow, moving in the corner. She contemplated it's origin, only to come up empty. She removed her hand from her neck, the water and ice returning to heal the wounded region of her body. It was a natural trait of her tribe, water was used to heal their wounds, as long as it was cold water without salt or other sediments and impurities. She found herself staring at the shadowy creature while speaking to Vayne, as if the creature itself was Vayne.

She drew her eyes back up to meet the gaze of her master.
"When I am around you now, I feel unsafe. As if something else is within you, turning you on yourself. It makes me feel very. . . uneasy. . . master." Shifting her footing away from the bedside, Tellai found herself now drawn to the bed, she held herself back. Her oldest habits returning to haunt her from her times of being a forced slave to the whim of whoever she was attending.

She managed to simply sit herself down beside him on the bed. Her arctic aura moving her threads of crystalline hair about her back and shoulders. She wanted to know more, but if need be, she would fight to get her answers.

"Pharilis is...how should I put it..." Vayne began to explain the presence within his body without fully understanding it himself, before being interrupted by the subject of the topic at hand. Pharilis began to emerge from the shadow and sat on the bed next to Tellai with a knee raised, manifesting himself as a young man wielding a large scythe and sporting large wings. "Before you say anything, I know my form's changed. I can manifest myself in many different forms, depending on how much energy my host has...and after that good night's sleep, I feel brand spankin' new! But that's beside the point."

Pharilis went on to explain who and what he was at the core. "You could say I'm an entity of pure, untainted darkness. I'm not Madness personified, I'm not some badass supervillain, and I'm not some ancient harbinger of the world's destruction. I've been called all of these by my previous hosts, and frankly, not all of them were suitable for me. I survive by coexisting with the darkness in people's hearts...darkness my friend Vayne here has suppressed plenty of over the years. Yes, I undoubtedly possess great power, but I don't just go around killing people because I feel like it. However..."

Vayne nearly winced at what Pharilis was about to say, entirely aware of the fact. "There is still Madness inside Vayne. Not enough to begin spreading by itself, but undeniably there. I can hear the voice, and so can he. As far as I know, there's no way to remove it entirely...that remedy killed the excess Madness, but the seed of it was planted artificially. It's like a weed...and unless you pull out the root, it'll just keep coming back."

Vayne looked at the bed with eyes full of guilt and frustration. How far had he come, how much had his friends progressed with a cure, only to discover it futile unless they erased the source?
