Somebody mentioned 80's horror films, which are also an interest of mine.
My favorite series has to be A Nightmare on Elm Street. I always found that one to be hardest to dismiss when I got creeped out, because Freddy always existed in the dream world, so it was the hardest to convince yourself that it wasn't real, and even if it was it couldn't get you, because a dream demon can do whatever it wants.

I liked the first Nightmare on Elm Street, but haven't seen the rest. I'm a big fan of Hellraiser~<3
Very nice. I never actually got around to Hellraiser. I might have to check it out.

I love Freddy Krueger, but I have to say my favorite Hollywood serial killer has always been Hannibal Lector. He is such a charming, genius little psychopath, you can't help but to like him. I was actually rooting for him throughout all of the movies, especially after seeing Hannibal Rising. He also gave birth to my favorite movie quote- "I ate his livah with some faaavah beans, and a nice chianti."
