Zachariah stirred slightly, feeling movement in the body he'd attached himself to, and then hearing a chiming laugh to accompany a sweet morning greeting. The demon mumbled something about ten more minutes, before his bright red eyes flit open, sleepily gazing at the soft shoulder that glistened lightly from his own drool. He lazily rubbed at the liquid, wiping it away, before resting his cheek gently on the skin again. "Mmm... I don't want to get up today." He muttered, closing his eyes and gently squeezing Alruna's waist. It was odd, but he felt peaceful as he laid there, as if her presence simply made him feel... calm. He'd never felt this way before, even forgot for a moment that his conscience would once trouble him deeply so he could barely lay still. And yet, ever since he'd been with the succubus, things didn't feel just as stressful. It was a good thing, perhaps simply because he was with a kin in species, instead of wearing a sheep's hide in the midst of a flock.

After several moments of silence, Zachariah on the brink of simply falling back asleep, the demon finally let go of his succubus companion, sitting up and yawning, stretching out his back with a few cracks. He forced himself to be more alert, so that he would not be drowsy later on in the day. "I'm sorry about drooling on you." He said after a moment, smirking faintly over at Alruna, running a hand through his hair for his bangs had gotten in the way of his sight. It was the first time he actually drooled in his sleep, though he could imagine it was because he usually slept on his back, over in the farms. Though it didn't matter much, she could always just take a bath if it really bothered her; it didn't seem like it did.

Alruna couldn't help but smile as Zachariah groaned about not wanting to wake up. Unusual for the demon, considering he had always tried to wake up before her. He wiped his drool off and let go, giving the succubus a bit of a turn off. She wanted him to stay, keep his lovely embrace. The dream still fluttered in her mind....through the demon's insanity, and romance...and melted into reality in a sense. He apologized for his drooling, something that Alruna actually found quite cute about the demon. She smiled, approaching Zachariah that had been waking up. She placed her hands onto his back, helping the demon crack his back. Alruna furrowed her eyebrows when she saw that his pants were still on, forgetting that the two decided to stop the other night. The succubus asked with a seductive tone, "Why are these still on? I swore I took them off..." She traced her finger down his back, leading to the top of his pants. Alruna removed them, throwing them across the room. Her lips met the top of his shoulder, leading up to his neck, and eventually turning his face to hers.

Zachariah tensed up slightly upon feeling Alruna's soft hands on his back, being surprised by the action. Without giving him the chance to calm down, she whispered seductively in his ear, removing his pants and tossing them as if they were sinful for covering his bare skin. By now, his cheeks were already heated, but poor man, the succubus wanted to keep teasing him. Her soft kisses came slowly up his shoulder and neck, until finally her eyes met his... those soft blue, lustful eyes... The demon was tempted, his instincts were surely being tested, and he couldn't help but give in to the desire. So, without much other thought, the man wound his arms about Alruna's waist, pulling her warm body against his. Leaning closer, closer, and then kissing her with such passion, it would seem her mouth was more precious to him than air.

After what seemed like several minutes, the demon finally took it upon himself to set things into motion, letting his hands start to roam down from her waist. They found themselves at her warm, bare legs, and began to run slowly up and underneath the hem of her kimono. It was then that he pulled away from the woman's lips, breathing heavily, the sound harsh from his growing lust. "Oh, I'm not stopping this time." He whispered, leaning closer and gently kissing her neck, while starting to tug at her panties, pulling them slowly down her legs... If she protested, he would simply use force-- she had been far too teasing for the demon to endure it. Now was the time to act upon his instincts, more for a selfish pleasure than for the succubus that taunted him.

Jack Hail

The little water show was enough to earn a few coins for food, room, and new items. Jack poured his well earned money in a pouch on the right side of his waist. As he left the fountain area, he made a mental list of things he needed to buy. He walked towards the market place and browsed through many shops. Most of the things he needed were found in general stores such as new clothes and boots. He liked to spend time looking at the variety of weapons sold at weapon shops. As the day was growing longer, Jack spotted a small bookstore nestled between utility store and an alchemy shop. Jack loved reading books and decided to visit the place.

He opened the doors and the place was very cozy. Jack walked past the counter and looked around. There were at least a dozen shelves that carried a maximum of twenty books each. A corner of the store was decorated with wicker furniture so people can sit down and relax. Jack was consumed in his search to find a good book to read and paid no attention to all the other people shopping around. He found a book called "Native Creatures of the Kingdom" and decided to buy it. He walked up to the counter and waited for the owner to check him. "I would like to buy this book please." said Jack. The old man charged him and Jack left the store happy to have a new book.

As their eyes locked, Alruna couldn't help herself but to give the demon a smile. The two demons meant to be, sharing eternity....that is until she would have to return to hell once again. The succubus would not dare to bring up such a horrible life to him. She decided to be happy, and pretend all was well. His arms around her waist sent her into a series of delight-fulness and lust. Each kiss of hers filled with compassion, and almost delicate. Alruna felt his hands move to her legs and run up under her kimono. A naughty demon he was, for he then removed her panties and whispered some words that appeared odd to the demon. "This...time?" The succubus questioned, trying to pull apart reality from what she had dreamed. Her state of mind had almost been frozen in what seemed to be back when the two demon were married, consumed with happiness. She pulled away, holding her head. "I'm...sorry..I've had a dream...well more of a flash back..." Her hand met the demon's soft cheek, locking a distant gaze. The succubus felt bad for leading him on since her dream confused her. She gave him a soft kiss on the lips and slipped the panties out of the demon's hand. "Perhaps another time...when it is more valued. I should probably tell you why I have refused you so much but I'm not sure if it is something you are willing to hear."

Zachariah sighed a bit, reluctantly allowing her to pull away. He took a moment to try and clear his lust-clouded mind, closing his eyes and breathing slowly. He listened to Alruna's unsure words, and then felt her hand on his cheek. The demon opened his eyes, looking into hers ruefully, his lips lifeless when she pressed hers to them. "It's alright, I'm sorry for being like that. It isn't the right time." He let her have her panties, before getting off the bed and grabbing his pants. As he started to get dressed, he spoke indifferently. "I'd like to know why you keep rejecting me but, it's your choice whether or not you tell me." With his pants on, and his dagger sheathed, the demon turned to Alruna, waiting for an answer.

Alruna gave him a hesitant look, opened her mouth but closed it so she could think of the best way of explaining. "H-have you ever felt like you are missing pieces and when you find them...you don't know what to do with them?" The succubus let out a sigh, "I have all of these emotions that I have that I can't control and I'm worried that you won't ever love me the same way you did back then..." She turned away from him, wrapping her arms around her delicate waist. She felt her head hang a bit lower than usual. "It's not your fault or anything...it's complicated seeing you in this state when I know I can't change what happened." Alruna turned towards him again, not looking into his face. "Besides...sex with a succubus is very...binding you could say. I drain life force and if I don't end up killing who I drain...it turns into a mess. The man will always think about me even if he has no desires. Sort of a torture thing I guess..and I wouldn't dare to do it with you now."

Zachariah listened without interrupting the succubus, his indifference slowly becoming sorrow. "I'm sorry that you're going through this and I wish I could help but, honestly, I can't say I know how you feel. I haven't loved someone in this... this version of myself yet." He sighed a bit, walking over to the wall and leaning against it, watching Alruna. "I suppose that's an understandable reason not to do anything yet, but, I am a demon. Does it really work the same way with my-- our kind?" He was simply curious, considering how he had the Devil himself stuck in his head for the past two decades.

Alruna took a minute to ponder. Had their previous relationship been based on her powers? No, Zachariah could've easily told her he had no desires..but yet it made her wonder. She watched as the man leaned against the wall, sighing at what news she had told him. All of that emotion of grief...and what was the center of it? Her. Ever since she came into his life, Zachariah had been lost, confused, and curious. She hated herself for telling him, but she couldn't lie to his face, not when they were married... She took a minute to straighten herself up. "I'm not sure...I mean if you wanted we could always see." She said with more of a sarcastic tone. "It doesn't matter anyways, I wouldn't sleep with you if it didn't mean anything to me..."

Zachariah felt slightly offended by her choice of words, which made it sound like he wasn't good enough for her, but if judged by his stoic expression it wouldn't be obvious. He simply let out another soft sigh. "Well, I'll respect your decision, since it's also for my sake." He then stepped away from the wall, walking over to grab his pack of things and sift through it. Finding the small sack of fruits and bread, he grabbed an apple and a slice of whole wheat, before offering Alruna some. "If you don't want any I'll go buy you something from the marketplace." He said, before biting into his apple. Sure, the demon was still curious about the whole succubus-demon ordeal, but now wasn't the time to wonder. It was better to change the topic altogether.

Alruna's arm dropped from her waist, readjusting into a more comfortable position. She felt relieved that Zach didn't care about the choices she made, so long as they didn't affect him. Sounded more selfish then the Zachariah she knew back then but as long as he stayed content, she had no worries. She watched as he grabbed food out of their travel bag, offering it to her. She shook her head, "I'm alright, I could use a bit of fresh air though if you wanted to go out into the town."

Zachariah shrugged, as if saying why not, before putting away the pouch of fruits and turning towards the door. He finished his apple and tossed the core into a nearby waste bin, then glanced at his succubus companion. "Well, get yourself freshened up. I'll be waiting out in the hallway." He'd opened the door as he spoke, and was quick to depart the room and allow Alruna a moment or two to comb out her hair or redress.

As he stood outside, leaning against the wall across from the room, he allowed his mind to wander. It hadn't been too long since he last fed on any darkness, though he still craved for its energy. Perhaps all of this excitement was the cause. It was then that a familiar circumstance occurred, starting with the inevitable red glow of his irises. 'Hahaha, such a stupid child, you are. She's making you more powerful, can't you feel it? You've already learned to morph, you've become more lustful-- And all of this power comes at a price. You need to feed, child, feed on more darkness.' Zachariah listened to the ever so infuriating voice with a clenched jaw, as he closed his eyes and attempted to block it out. Sure the information was useful, was true, but now wasn't the time he wanted to restart the torture of a stupid conflict with the subconscious entity. He wanted peace. He wanted to be free. And yet it seemed he was damned. 'Damned? You don't realize that you're anything bu--'

Zachariah couldn't take it much longer. He shrieked and threw his fist into the nearby wall, causing the voice to cut off and his eyes to stop glowing. For the first time he had overcome the demonic voice... and for the first time he had experienced such uncontrollable anger. He used to be so calm, and collected. What was happening to him? What was this rage, this passion that was brewing in his heart?
