About the Pride
The name Mizani'Ulimwengu means balanced world.
This pride is based off the Jedi and Sith in the Star Wars universe.
Innocent_Hybrid and R4gn0r0k IV started this pride. We have been working on it for a little over a year now.
Anyone is welcomed in the pride, good and evil characters a like. Evil characters are expected to go to the Sith. If they wander onto Jedi lands with ill intentions they will not be welcomed.
Any species, any orientation is welcomed.

The Tale of the Jedi

There is no Emotion, There is Peace
There is no Ignorance, There is Knowledge
There is no Passion, There is Serenity
There is no Chaos, There is Harmony
There is no Death, There is the Force

The Jedi pride began with a simple desire: Help keep the world in balance.

It started with a Master and two Padawans. The Master cared for his Padawans more than anything, but he knew that it was a dangerous thing to love and that love had often times drove creatures to jealousy and hate. He taught his Padawans this among other things.

Once his Padawans were ready he announced that they had become Knights and could find Padawans of their own to take care of.

One young Knight ventured far, looking for a Padawan of his own. Instead he found a lovely lioness who he madly fell in love with. He knew that if he were to bring her back to the pride his old Master would be upset and kick him out. The young Knight decided the best thing to do was have a secret romance with her. He made her his Padawan and hoped that no one would realize their relationship.

The other young Knight was careful and picked a Padawan that she believed had great potential. Her Padawan could see the future and became the first seer in the pride.

As time went on, the pride grew, and kept growing. The Knight who was having the secret romance, had gotten the lioness pregnant. It became obvious to the other members that he was the father.

The Jedi Master did not kick them out, instead he praised them on their love. He gave them a warning to be careful though and not allow their emotions to control them. The Knight believed that the Master forgave him because of how close they were, this made him arrogant.

In time the Jedi Master left them, becoming 'One with the Force'. Before passing he announced that his old Padawan learner, the female, was to become the next Master. His other old Padawan could not believe it. It enraged him to think that he wasn't the old Master's favorite.

He decided to take his mate and leave the pride, never to return again. With his mate he created another group called the Sith. They would become the enemy of the Jedi.

Current Times:

After the passing of Grand Master Youci, the council placed Verex into position as the new Jedi Grand Master. Taking his place on the council was none other then his former Padawan, A'lan. Though Verex has been known to a small bit cold towards the world, he has been a great leader for the Jedi.

He was instrumental in negotiating a peace treaty with the newly returning Sith. The terms were fairly simple; As long as the Sith made so signs of hostilities towards the Jedi and stayed on the other side of the labyrinths, they would be allowed to stay near the Sacred Grounds. The Sith Lord Majanga also would be allowed to make a pilgrimage there once a year while under escort.

Pride Rules


Mating:
1. Must apply to be on mating list. NO breeding if your SoA is not on the list.
2. Your SoA get one partner and one only. For some reason your SoA can't not reproduce and they want cubs they can either adopt cubs or get another member to be the surrogate mother (or a male to donate his DNA?) This is the only time a 'fling' is allowed in pride (unless in contains nice juice plots. If this is the case please pm the mules.)

General Rules
1. A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for aggression or personal gain.
2. Jedi respect each other, and all other life forms.
3. Jedi must put the needs of the community above the needs of individuals.
4. A Jedi must protect the weak and defenseless from evil.
5. Jedi must not have wants; self-reliance must be shown.
6. A Jedi will not take revenge.
7. The Jedi do not believe in killing their prisoners.


Outsiders
The Jedi allow outsiders to enter their land and share their food. The guest is to understand that they can not interfere with the jedi's way of life and they are expected to respect the jedi way. The guest is not expected to live just like a jedi, however there are rules that they must abide by.
1. No violence of any kind is tolerated.
2. Harming/vandalizing the land is a big no no.
3. Treat others with respect while you are in the land.

If the guest is endangered the jedi will do anything in their power to protect the guest as long as they find the guest innocent. They will even go as far as taking them back to their pride, keeping them protected the entire way.

The Sith
Ranks
Sith Lord- The Ruler of the pride. Can be any gender and species. Usually the most powerful, cunning member of the pride.
Apprentice- These are Sith that the Sith Lord has recruited into his pride.

There can only be one Sith Lord at a time. He/She is the one who the others have to obey while living together in the pride. If there is an apprentice who is tired of the Sith Lord's regein than he/she may challenge him/her to a duel. The loser of the duel must leave the pride, if not killed. They are never welcomed back to the pride unless they slay a jedi and bring the jedi's body back to the pride.

Rules/Teaching/Beliefs:
1. No Life Mates
2. Outsiders must be watched
3. Outsiders and Apprentice must ask permission before leaving the pride.
4. If a jedi comes to sith lands then they are not aloud to leave.

Back Story

Aki and his mate/apprentice Penda left the Jedi in search of a different way to use the Force. During their travels Aki was filled with emotions, something he hadn't felt since he was a young cub. He felt betrayal toward the his deceased master, hatred for the one who replaced him as Master and of course passion toward the mate who had bared him cubs (all of whom were left at the Jedi pride)

He made his way over the mountains to a nice secluded area near the Jedi pride. He and his mate decided to make this their temporary home until they decided what to do with their lives.

Every night Aki would have visions of the future seeing Jedi fighting against others filled with hatred just like him. Instead of being taught peace these Force-wielding creatures relied on chaos. Soon Aki would realize it was his destiny to create these others. He would call them the Sith.

He started with his own mate. He twisted her mind, filled her with loathing and jealousy. He convinced her that the Jedi were their enemy and they would need to recruit others with similar ideals.

He searched for others who had darkness in their hearts and persuaded them to join him. He had every intention of destroying the Jedi with the Sith army he was building up. Once he had enough Sith he took them over the mountains and attacked the Jedi. To his surprise the Jedi prevaled and drove back the Sith. The strong managed to escape Jedi capture. Penda wasn't so lucky.

Aki tried to build up another army, to avenge Penda, but he was aged and could not battle anymore. In the end he took his own life, leaving the Sith to figure out who would rule. Fights broke out and there was many deaths within the Sith. They began killing their own kind. Once order was established the Sith decided to move their pride away from the Jedi to insure their secrets were safe.

A couple generations later they witnessed a great plague that lowered their numbers. It was then the 'Rule of Two' was established. The Sith Lord decided there would only be two Siths at a time. One Master and one apprentice.

Current Times:
Majanga, the current Lord of the Sith returned back to the Jedi Pride in search of a place to establish a place to teach his ways. His apprentice Drox, had ran away and joined the Jedi. He is currently looking for a new apprentice.

He made peace with the Jedi, however. But only if they agreed to let him stay on the other side of the mountains in peace so he and his kin could be near the Sacred Grounds. The Sacred Grounds are revered by both sides as hallowed ground and not to be trifled with.

The current Jedi Grand Master, Verex, agreed to the peace treaty, on the condition that only Majanga was allowed to take the pilgrimage and was to have an escort while in their lands.

Beliefs

The Jedi and Sith do not worship any gods. Instead the Jedi and Sith put their faith in a different power, sometimes called The Way, but more commonly known as the force. They believe that the Force is what creates everything and everyone. The Force is a powerful thing that they believe can give them strength. If one were to master the ways of the Force their instincts, health, intelligence and other aspects improved.

Ever creature has a the Force living in them. When a creature dies, it is said to become one with the Force. Every creature was put on the lands for a reason, and the Force will guide its users on a certain path.

The Sith have claimed time after time that the dark side of the Force is more powerful than the light side. There is no evidence to this. Some Force users believe that the Force has no real side, that it is unified and that there is no real dark side and light side. Others believe that the Force flows through it members as the Living Force. This belief believes that the user is attuned to the users around them and can use the Force.

Lands








1. The Great Jedi Temple: The place of resting and eating. Guest are welcomed to stay here.
2. The Watch Towers: Guardians stay on these towers and watch for intruders into the pride. If a rogue wanders onto the land they will help the rogue out as long as they have no ill intentions.
3. The Lake: The lake is one of the places the Jedi find relaxing.
4. The Caves: The caves is what separates the Jedi from the Sith. The caves are nearly impossible to go through. Few Jedi know the path through.
5. The River: The great river that runs through the pride is the main source of water and provides fish for the pride.
6. Meditation Pond: The Meditation Pond is located next to the Great Jedi Temple and the Pillar of Self-Disapline. It is the place where one can become closer to the Force, while still connected to the outside world.
7. Burial Grounds: The Burial Grounds is where most Jedi are laid to rest once their bodies pass away. It is also a place where Jedi go to talk to those who have become one with the Force and to get guidance from the Jedi of the past.
8. The Sith Grounds: The Sith grounds is where the Sith live. They do not come onto the jedi lands. Unlike the Jedi lands the Sith grounds are filled with death, with little living nature around them.
9. Pillar of Force: The first pillar is the pillar of Force. In this temple the Jedi train in the ways of the Force. The healers, seers and some guardians can be found training here.
10. Pillar of Self-Disapline:The second pillar is the pillar of Self-Discipline. This is where Jedi come to get away from the temptations of the world. Here there are many different rooms where they can meditate and become closer to the Force. All Jedi come here to train.
11. Pillar of Knowledge: The third pillar is the pillar of Knowledge. This temple is where Jedi come in to learn the ways of the past and learn different techniques. Lore Keepers, Teachers and Peacekeepers can be found training here.

Ranks:

Younglings:

This stage is for any members who are joining. They must stay in this stage until they pass the trial. They are taught in groups by a Jedi Master. They learn the basics of all the different ranks. They are never allowed outside the pride lands. Once a Youngling is ready to become a Padawan they are put through the Younglings trial.

When a character joins the pride they are placed in one of the clans by a seer. The clans sleep together, eat together and train together. Occasionally two or three clans will group up for lessons depending on the member count.

Youngling Clans When a Youngling joins they are placed in a clan by the Jedi Council. The clans are based on the familiars.

Ratels Clan: Brave and courageous
Maned Wolf Clan: Loyal and true of heart
Waterbuck Clan: Perceived tenacity
Snake Clan: Deep insight
Serval Clan: Proclivity for stealth
Klipspringers Clan: Agility and swiftness of foot


Youngling Trials: The trials that a Youngling must face at least one of these to become a padawan.
(IC trials)
1. Understand and memorized the Jedi code.
2. Test of self-discipline
3. Either a small task they must complete or to see the dark side and conquer it.
(OOC Rps)
1. Have a rp where the Youngling mentions the Jedi code.
2. Either the same or different rp where the Youngling shows that they have self-discipline.
3. Final rp is either a mission or an encounter with the dark side (Could be a character trying to persuade them to disobey the Jedi way, it could be an inner battle, or something else pm the mule if you have any questions)

Padawan
Once a Youngling becomes a Padawan they are picked by a Jedi Master, Knight, or Council Member to be trained. The Master teaches the Padawan everything he/she thinks is necessary. Unlike the Youngling stage, Padawans do most of their training in the jungle outside of the temple. The accompany their Master on their missions and help any way they can. Occasionally the Master will deem the mission too hard for the Padawan and request the Padawan stay at the temple.

To become a Jedi Knight, the Padawan will have to go through trials, just like they had to when they were Younglings; except this time it will be more difficult and there is a chance they will get hurt. You must choose three Trials to take, one of which MUST be spirit to obtain the crystal for your Knight specialization.

The Five Trials are: Skill, Courage, Spirit, Flesh, and Insight.
The Padawan must show the Jedi Council that they have passed at least 3 of the Trials in order to become a knight.

Trial of Skills: In the Trial of Skill the Padawan must show a skill they have mastered to the Council
Trial of Courage: In the Trial of Courage the Padawan must face their greatest fear.
Trial of Spirit: In the Trial of Spirit the Padawan must go on a quest to find the gem that represents the rank they want when they become a Jedi Knight. They must travel into Rogue lands to find the crystal and they will not receive any help from any other Jedi. They can however get help from the outsiders.
Trial of Flesh: In the Trial of Flesh the Padawan must face great physical harm, hardship or loss.
Trial of Insight: In the Trial of Insight the Padawan goes into a room filled with darkness and must meditiate. They must stay in the room for at least two days. They are supposed to think about themselves and the darkness within.


Jedi Knight

A Jedi Knight has many different roles in the pride. The role depends on what the Knight decides to focus on. A Knight is able to have one Padawan if they choose, but they must receive permission from the Council first.

Youngling Teachers: These members teach the Younglings the ways of the pride. They must protect the Younglings as well.

Peacekeepers/Jedi Diplomat : They are the ones who decide the outcome in arguments. They are also the ones sent to other lands as ambassadors.

Healer: They look after the sick and weak until they get better.

Lore Keeper The ones who keep track of the ancient text. It is their duty to protect and learn it. If a major event happens in the pride they are the ones who keep track of it. They also record seer visions.

Seer: They have visions of the past, future and present. They are highly valuable to the Jedi and the visions provide insight to their course of action. They often take on a secondary specialization to pass the time.

Guardian: They stand watch at the borders of the pride. They welcome visitors and take them to the Council. If the pride is attacked they are the first to go into battle. Their main job is to protect the pride.

Jedi Master:

The Council decides when a Knight can become a Master. It usually happens when Knights have proven themselves worthy. (OOC: They need at least 5 rps in pride to apply)

The Jedi Masters can have more than one Padawan but no more than three. Like Knights, they must get approval from the Council when picking their Padawan(s).

Those who hold the rank of Jedi Master can specialize as in the Knight stage above mentioned.

Masters are free to do what they want and do not have to ask the Council every time they want to go out on a mission.

Jedi Council Members: There are only five members of the Council (6 if you count the Jedi Grand Master) at one time. A Council member is chosen by the other acting members of the Council.

Their main duty is to make sure the pride is running smoothly as well as to make important decisions inside the pride.

They can have a Padawan (or two) though they must be able to balance it with their Council duties. Like before they can specialize in a certain rank if they choose to.

Jedi Grand Master:
The Jedi Grand Master is the most respected member in the pride. He or she is the head of the Council. Her/His voice is strongly heard in all Council affairs. His/Her vote counts as two in the Council, unless the Council meeting is about the Grand Master.

The Grand Master is chosen from the pride by the Council. They pick the one who they believe will be most just and fair and who would make a good leader.

Unless the Padawan numbers are high, the Grand Master hardly ever takes on a Padawan.

Ward: The Ward rank is given to those members who wish to live on the Jedi lands but do not want to become a jedi, or are not fit to being a jedi. They are welcome to stay on the Jedi land as long as the help bring in food and do not disturb the Jedi way of life.

Jedi Grand Master: ((1/1)) In the likely hood that the Grand Master seat is vacant, the Council will get together and pick one from their ranks to fill the honor. Basically there will be an OOC conversation between everyone with an SOA on the Council to see if anyone would want to fill the seat.

Please be aware that this position is expected to be very active in the Pride!

Council Member: ((4/5)) If there are positions available on the Council and you are interested in joining, please PM the Mule. Have the subject be 'I Wish to Ask for the Honor' and give a thought out, descriptive, reasoning as to the motivations on joining and why you think your SOA would be good for the Council. Snails also asks that you link to three examples of previous finished RPs. They do not have to be from the SOA joining, but from any SOA you own and wish to use as an example!

Please be serious about joining. We want you to be fairly-to-very active in the Pride!
