Alvaro laughed, taking his time to eat. "You get to pick all but one song. I like holding you close and swaying gently, sometimes." he said, knowing majority of the songs would be upbeat. Perhaps he could get some of the staff to join in and dance. Like a small mini party. But he would just like to dance with Lewis, so depending on how he meeting went depended on how many people he'd invite.

Annabelle and Martha clambered onto Leonard's lap, looking at Baby Yuki happily. "Why is he fat?" Annabelle asked, poking his cheeks.

"You're fat too. It's baby fat." Martha said, softly touching his hair in case she might hurt him. "Ah, his head is soft right here." and gently ran her finger over it again. "Is he broken?"

Elliot and Emily had fallen back asleep on the bed.

Lewis nodded, "Deal," he sat back and thought about what was coming. "maybe we should take some throwing knifes, just in case." he was pretty good with those, he liked practising too. "not like they search us or anything." he crossed his arms and frowned, "i'll be rough. i've been better lately, but i'm still not all there." he sighed, looking serious for once, and rubbed the bridge of his nose, "i'll try to keep it together, ok? i'll try."

Leo nodded, "babies need to be fat because it keeps them warm and safe. besides, he doesn't do much right now so he have no way to stay skinny." Martha noticed his soft spot and Leo shook his head, "no, all babies have that. their bones haven't hardened up yet, so you have to be careful with them." he looked over at the bed and shook his head a little, "i don't know why, that's just the way things are. in Falia we have a legend that it's the spot where your spirit entered your body. so long as the spot is soft, you are still connected to the spiritual world, but once it hardens, the connection becomes weaker and finally is cut off. it's not good for the living to linger with the spirits, after all."

"No throwing knives. This is a meeting not a battle." Alvaro warned, "It's polite to go in without weapons to prove we trust them." And finished his breakfast, standing, "I know you'll do just fine. You can only speak if spoken too if you don't want to join the conversation." he kissed his head. "Now let's take a quick bath and go get ready."

"It keeps them warm? Was I a fat baby?" she asked, continuing to stroke his little fat cheek with a smile.

"So, he was dead and came back as a baby?" Martha asked, looking at Yuki. She stared a moment before feeling on top of her own head, realizing it was "I bet you were cool before you died and came back as a baby."

Lewis got up and slipped his hand into Al's, "fine. i'll do that, just be there as a spectator until i'm needed." he put his head on Al's shoulder and walked with him to the bath. "i'll just focus on the dance, then. it'll be better that way." they got to the bath and he stripped down before stepping in, sighing happily as hot water rushed up to his chin, "god i love baths. remember when i refused to leave the bath and stayed in for three days straight?"

Leo thought about how to answer, "sort of. if you believe in reincarnation, he could have been someone completely different. reincarnation is when you believe that you have several lives and when you die, your spirit is reborn into a different body. it's a belief widely held in Falia." he wasn't sure if they would have heard of it before

"it'd be safer. They'll be harassing me about letting Elliot take the throne when I am still alive and well. Most kings keep it until death, but the air is changing and I thought it best." he slipped into the water and laughed softly. "I remember very well. I do remember that." he chuckled, "It's inhuman to do that."

"Reincarnation?" Martha asked, listening to the answer. "Huh. I thought when you died you just turned in to trees."

"I wonder if I was a princess in my past life too!" Annabelle exclaimed, looking at baby Yuki, "I bet you were a prince too."

"I must've been a boy." Martha huffed.

Lewis laughed, "it wasn't like i was going to drown if i slipped under the water while asleep." he got the washcloth and started to clean himself, "that was fun, though. spent all day surrounded by warm." he kept smiling as he washed himself, but it slowly began to fade, "i think the tradition of becoming the ruler after the previous one dies is bad. it comes from people too stubborn to let go of the control, but if they step down and train the younger one then it makes it transfer over so much easier, you know?"

Leo nodded, "they could all be true. i could have been a fish and Elliot a cat. we have no way of knowing our past lives, though some people are able to remember them. however those are only the most spiritual of peoples who are intuned with the world around them."

"Technically speaking you would have drowned, you simply wouldn't have died." he said softly, washing himself as well, listening to Lewis. "How I inherited the throne was bad enough, an I was growing tired of being king. I did what I needed to do in that position of power." he nodded, "It's easier to transfer positions when one steps down to give to the other. And he knows enough already, having to put up with work I procrastinated on."

"I'll believe brother was a cat. he sleeps all day." The girl looked at her sleeping brother, getting off of Leo's lap and shaking him. "Get up! You slept all day on Mid-Week!"

"And then he was up all night." Martha chuckled, looking at Yuki. "Your Dad was playing kickball in the ballroom and playing the piano and broke a vase."

Lewis nodded, "seriously, that poor boy's been doing your job for years!" he glared a little at Al, but he knew it was his fault as well. Al had been busy taking care of him, so his kingly duties got put on the back burner. he finished washing and got out of the tub to dry off, "when is the meeting? we should be there when the nobles show up so they can't plan behind our backs."

Leo lifted an eyebrow, "he did what now? i didn't know of this. seems my husband had a busy night." he smiled a little. Elliot had, indeed, had a busy night, but not in the way the girls thought.

"Well, you could say I've been training him!" Alvaro exclaimed, rinsing himself off and getting out to dry. In a sense, later on it became true, but the early years were hard for Lewis, it had been a bad relapse those few years. "The meeting is just before lunch, because nothing makes men more aggressive and bad at making decisions than hunger, so we'll have to eat before then."

"he did!" Martha exclaimed, "It was so weird! He literally slept all day in bed and then come nighttime he was awake and going through the hallways and having fun by himself! he's never done that before."

"broth-errr!" Annabelle whined, shaking him harder.

"Let me sleep." he grumbled.

"Everyone else is awake!"

"Shh I'm sleeping."

"Elliot!"

Lewis nodded, but a little smile crossed his lips, "he played chess with me the other day," he confessed softly. "it was fun, we-we are talking now. i think i still annoy him more often than not, but at least he doesn't hate me anymore..." he hugged himself, "i kind of don't know what to do anymore. i think-i just am glad we can spend time together again. i missed it."

Leo frowned, "last night?" but that was impossible, Elliot had been with him all night. "are you sure it was elliot? maybe one of the guards was patrolling?" it could have also just been her dream. he looked at Anna and shook his head a bit, "let him sleep, dear. he was keeping me company all night so he's tired." he looked back at Martha, "that's why i know it wasn't him going around yesterday."

"Not last night." Martha said, "A few nights ago! He was bouncing off the walls! But why is he tired all you guys do is jump on the bed. That's what Mr. Kashi says you do."

"Mr. Kashi was jumping on the bed too." Annabelle sighed, moving to sit in the desk chair. "And he always says to knock. but we didn't since you were gone for so long."

"So we jumped on the bed too and then fell asleep." Martha finished. "Nix jumped the highest because she's so tiny."

"Did he?" Alvaro asked, raising his eyebrows and smiling at the man, "I don't think you annoy him that much if he's playing chess with you. Perhaps come summer we can all swim in the lake as a family." Alvaro looked ahead, wrapping an arm around the man, "Yes, he's too old for hugs and cuddles but I'm sure if he can withstand your presence for a chess game, he wants to spend time with you. Perhaps books can be a topic of conversation if you both are alone together again."

Lewis nodded, "that would work! what kind of books does he like?" he'd ask the librarians, they would know. maybe he'd check out every book that Elliot had read in the past year and read them. that should give them something to talk about, right? "we should get dressed. i wonder how Leo and Elliot are doing. bet your son isn't even awake yet." he chuckled as he walked through the door into their room. "it's nice, Al. i'm going to have to figure out something nice for Leo, it's because of him that Elliot's trying. i don't know if it was Leo's encouragement or him seeing-well," he gave a weak smile, "him knowing about what i was before that is doing it, but both can be attributed to his darling husband." Lewis started to go through his clothing, finding his best 'battle clothing' as he called them. Black pants, a crisp white shirt and black coat on top. perfect.

Leo laughed, "she did, did she?" he looked at where Nix was pouting, but she didn't look at him, "she can beat the boys at climbing and running so i'm not surprised. Nix is quite athletic, though she's skinny as a twig."

"Am not!" Nix protested, walking over and plopping herself at Leo's feet. "You're skinny too and my faie side is stronger than yours so i'm twice as skinny! doesn't mean i'm weak."

Leo nodded, "indeed, that is where you get we get our strength." he looked at the girls in his lap, "the human side has it's good points as well. we are far less sensitive than most faies."

"The past few months he's been incredibly busy, so I wouldn't know recent books." Alvaro said, pondering, "I think the last one he read was a mystery? One of those fake books that are becoming really popular. You know, with the fake settings and fake people? They're becoming really popular here in the mountains and plains." And continued to think, entering the bedroom and nodding, "Leo was definitely a good choice. We simply chose a, well, at the time a bentien, I did not imagine our choice would change the fate of half the world." he chuckled, finding clothes to change in to. "We should really find a way to thank Leonard." His clothes, while still royal, were definitely toned down in power. It was as though he was saying "I'm no longer the king but I can listen" because he certainly didn't want to make any decisions.

"Never said you were weak." Martha said before looking up at Leo. "I did lots of research! Because I'm going to join the brotherhood of knights! Apparently humans are like water! Well, it's like, um." she tried to think a moment. "We're not good at magic but we can get very strong at it, and sometimes we can be very weak but really really smart. We're like, Um... well-rounded?" was that the word.

"It's called a Brotherhood for a reason." Annabelle pointed out, "If you're going to join as a girl then It'll have to be called a Siblinghood!"

"Then so be it!" Martha said before a large tummy growl hit her ears. "That wasn't me." she said quickly.

"Not me." Annabelle quickly said, looking around.

On the bed white ears had lowered and almost pressed flat against his skull.

Lewis nodded, "i'm glad, i'm so glad. the elders lead us to him, i know it. everything that's happened since then, all of it, it had to have been in the Elders' plans." he walked to Al and kissed his cheek, "even you picking me up off the road that day. it was all part of their plan."

Leo nodded, "well rounded, that's a good way to put it. humans have so much potential, they really are amazing." he looked at the bed, knowing where the sound had come from, and couldn't help but laugh at elliot's reaction. "guess it's time to get out of bed, love. you're body demands food."

Al smiled, fixing his cuffs as he was kissed. "The elders work in mysterious ways, using ley lines to communicate. Perhaps we should go give an offering to the elder here in Nalaenir as thanks. I'm sure he would appreciate it very much."

"But it's so warm and comfortable." he sighed, turning his head finally. "It's cold outside of the bankets."

"Maybe if you wore a shirt." Annabelle pointed out.
