African Bush Elephant
The African Elephant is the largest living terrestrial animal, normally reaching 6 to 7.3 metres (19.7 to 24.0 ft) in length and 3.5 to 4 metres (11.5 to 13.1 ft) in height at the head, and weighing between 6,000 to 9,000 kg (13,000 to 20,000 lb). African Bush Elephants are herbivorous. Their diet varies according to their habitat; elephants living in forests, partial deserts, and grasslands all eat different proportions of herbs and tree or shrubbery leaves. The African Bush Elephant is an intelligent animal. Experiments with reasoning and learning show that they are one of the smartest mammals together with their Asian cousins.This is mostly due to their large brain.
Herds are made up of related females and their young, directed by the eldest female, called the matriarch. Infrequently, an adult male goes with them, but those usually leave the pack when reaching adolescence to form bachelor herds with other elephants of the same age. Later they lead a solitary life, approaching the female herds only during the mating season.The matriarch is the one who decides the route and shows to each other member of the herd all the water sources she knows, which the rest will memorize in the future. The relations among the members of the herd are very tight; when a female gives birth to a baby the rest go to acknowledge it touching her with the trunk; and when an old elephant dies the rest of the herd will stay by the corpse for a while. The famous elephant graveyards are a myth, but it is true that these animals can recognize a carcass of its species when they find one during their trips, and even if it is a stranger, they form around it and sometimes they even touch its forehead with their trunk.
African Brush Elephants go through 22 months of gestation (the longest among mammals), the female gives birth to a single 90 cm high calf which weighs more than 100 kg. The baby feeds on the mothers milk until the age of 5, but also eats solid food from as early as 6 months old. Just a few days after birth, the calf can follow the herd by foot.
Pygmy Hog
Pygmy hog (Porcula salvania) is an endangered species of small wild pig, previously spread across India, Nepal, and Bhutan but now only found in Assam. The current world population is about 150 individuals or fewer. Recent conservation measures have improved the prospects of survival in the wild of this critically endangered species.
They are about 55 to 71 cm long and stand at 20-30 cm (7.9-11.8 in.) with a tail of 2.5 cm (1 in.). They weigh 6.6-11.8 kg (14.5-26 lbs). Their skin is dark brownish black and the fur is dark. Piglets are born grayish-pink becoming brown with yellow stripes along the body length. The head is sharply tapered and they have a slight crest of hair on the forehead and on the back of the neck. Adult males have the upper canines visible on the sides of the mouth. They live for about 8 years.
The pygmy hog feeds on roots, tubers and other vegetable matter; also insects and other invertebrates.
The pygmy hog is apparently non-territorial. It lives in small family groups usually including about 4 - 5 individuals, up to 20, comprised of one or more adult females and accompanying juveniles. Adult males are usually solitary, but they may join estrous sows during the rut and associate loosely at other times of the year with the basic family groups.

Informative Blurb: Ime is ...
Ime ... well ...
Ime is fairly normal looking by Lab standards. He's quite short, and a bit stocky, but other than that he seems to be built like a normal human. His ears are oversized, but not to the point that the lab assistants were betting expected them to be. It appears as though the several opposing elements of his DNA combination canceled each other out, to an extent. The only real noticeably unusual feature he has about him is the pair of tusks beginning to grow out of his mouth; they are, true to form, extensions of what would have been teeth. They appear to grow slightly higher than the rest of his teeth, however, so he is capable of speaking with only a slight lisp, and he has no problem closing his mouth or eating.
The really note worthy feature about Ime is that he's very surly. The lab has unanimously decided that combining two very territorial animals into a male form may not be the best decision, as this new tekimi has a very short temper. He's highly protective of his own belongings, and he's also showing signs of being highly stubborn. Of course, being independent isn't a bad thing - but attempting to gore lab assistants with your face is.
... not that we know anything about that.
Flaws:
===== Surly: Ime is surly, which means that on a good day he is gruff, ill tempered and gloomy. He stomps about the place with a habitual frown, which doesn’t do much for his personal image. It’s his default mood, and he grumps about the place with a slouch and a pout, just to show off his lovely tusks and to warn others off speaking to him.
===== Jealous: He is secretly a little jealous of those tekimi with the more attractive features like Brom’s muscles, or Cuider’s lovely hair, but he keeps all that to himself. He jealously guards his belongings and his friends, (which, at the moment is his fweet and only his fweet, but he’d quite like it to stay that way thank you very much). He is jealous of beauty and intelligence as he feels that he lacks both himself, but if you asked him he would deny that he has a self-esteem problem. Really, he just doesn’t like show-offs. Yeah, that’s it.
Ime jealously guards his secrets as well. He has things to hide just like any other tekimi.
===== Territorial: Perhaps it is this secrecy that makes Ime so protective of his belongings and his room, but the lab assistants will be quick to tell anyone who asks otherwise. Perhaps it was not the best idea to put the DNA of two species that are known to have particularly territorial males in the body of a male as while those tusks are not sharp, they aren’t blunt either.
Perhaps later in life these territorial urges will translate into protecting other people rather than just his fweet and his belongings, but for the moment, Ime doesn’t particularly like the other tekimi.
===== Stubborn: Very stubborn, it is not a good idea to get into an argument with this tekimi. Ime does not like to admit that he is wrong, and will argue a point into the ground long after he had decided that he is completely out of line, and he should have shut up twenty minutes ago. This can become frustrating, both to other tekimi and Ime himself as that more rational part of him tells the territorial male part to ‘shut up, shut up, shut up!’
===== Short-Tempered: Ime has a very short fuse, and a rather large temper – when very, very angry; he may attempt to gore people with those tusks of his. This manoeuvre is rather tricky to pull off, as unlike the pygmy hog or the elephant, his human DNA makes it so that his tusks are more like teeth than weapons – this does not stop him from trying though. He is very happy to tell you exactly what is wrong with you, your sister, your mother and your shoes when he is pressed, which is a rather drastic change since he tries to be quiet all the time. Let’s just say that when you piss Ime off, most of his morals go out the window.
Virtues:
===== Gentle: When he wants to be Ime can be gentle – although, this will never be where anyone can watch him. He loves his fweet, Darkstar (Or Star in private) and would do anything for the little creature, but admitting that might ruin his reputation. He is more likely to ignore the little thing in public then spoil it rotten in private. So far, nothing but Star can bring out this gentle side in Ime. Truly, he just doesn’t care about the other Tekimi personally enough, and social interaction is hard. Fweets are easy to understand.
===== Confident: If you could say one thing about Ime, it is that he is confident. He is confident that he is right (particularly when arguing), he is confident in his decisions and he is confident in himself. Ime knows that he is Ime, and he is not afraid to show it – however unfortunate that may be for the lab assistants when he gets in a temper.
===== Private: Ime is not likely to get up in everyone’s business, and likes to keep his business to himself. Of course, it is usually because he doesn’t particularly care about whatever the other tekimi are doing, but all the same, he likes to keep himself to himself. He has things to do, and they don’t involve anyone else. At all. So go away. Yes, you. Go away. Seriously.
===== Quiet: Ime doesn’t like to say much if he can help it. If he isn’t bothered, he won’t make noise or get in other people’s way. This isn’t due to any shyness, and has everything to do with the fact that he JUST WANTS TO BE LEFT ALONE! He is a firm believer of the ‘do to others what you would like done to you’, so he aspires to leave others alone. Unfortunately, this philosophy falls through as soon as he is bothered, but he doesn’t look too carefully at his shortcomings so this isn’t a problem. This may also have something to do with the slight lisp that he speaks with, as the less he talks the less he can hear it.
===== Single-Minded: When Ime sets his mind do something, he darn well does it (eventually). He pursues his goals with vigour, and tries to let nothing get in his way. This doesn’t always work (Depending on the goal) as the other tekimi, the lab assistants and occasionally inanimate objects get in his way. When the occasion arises that he is unable to complete his goal, he resorts to plan B (A.K.A being surly, short tempered and stubborn). This means that Ime is often unable to see other ways to approach a problem, but the fact of the matter is, sometimes he just doesn’t want to see the problem another way.
General Attitude: Ime comes across as a genuinely grumpy guy and not at all a nice person. He would admit to you (if you asked him about it) that he isn’t, and he doesn’t particularly care about what you think. He likes living in the labs just fine, (particularly since it’s all he knows) but the other tekimi sometimes get on his nerves. And by sometimes, we mean usually. In fact it is a common thing for Ime to be angry at someone, or at least slightly hostile towards someone. Sometimes, people secretly wonder if he keeps people to be hostile towards as a backup for the rare occasions when someone doesn’t aggravate him.
Interests: Ime is interested in himself, his fweets and his personal privacy. He goes to great lengths to ensure that he is alone, and in fact the thought of others encroaching on his territory takes up most of his waking life. He has ideas about what he would like to do, but finding the right space to do them in is a particular problem for Ime. Something is always in the way.
Likes: Ime would be the first to tell you that he doesn’t ‘like’ anything. Then, he would most likely mutter something that may or may not be insulting, then slouch away. Whilst this is somewhat true, Ime does not like most things, but he does like fweets.
Ime likes to work out, an activity that was suggested to him by one of the lab assistants to him as a strategy to work out all his excess aggression. There is some speculation at this time as to whether or not this works.
He also likes his belongings and his room very, very much, and therefore NOBODY SHOULD TOUCH THEM and everybody should STAY AWAY.
Ime likes beautiful things, but to look at rather than to have. Part of him is scared that he will ruin them, part of him is angry that he does not have them, and thus he is more likely to destroy them at some point
Dislikes: If anybody asked Ime what he doesn’t like, Ime would most likely reply something to the effect of ‘EVERYTHING!’ then he would probably mutter something that may or may not be insulting, and slouch away.
Ime does not like people who show off, and he does not like people who TOUCH HIS STUFF, SO STAY OUT OF HIS ROOM.
He will tell you that he does not care about fweets, even though this is a bald faced lie.
He does not like happy people, or being happy, especially in the mornings. Anyone who is up and cheerful before midday needs a thump in the noggin and some anti-happy pills or something. Jeez, can’t a guy be left alone for once? Good morning to yourself. Mutter mutter.
Despite what he will tell you, Ime doesn’t like being left alone for long stretches of time, but nor does he like the company of people for long stretches of time. People might think he is contrary, but he would like a nice balance thank you very much. Also, people are stupid.
