*In an English Accent* I don't like change! xp Anyone else realizing they're becoming better roleplayers and giving their characters more depth?

*raises hand* Ever since I've started roleplaying which was more than a year, I was scared by my growth. *runs away from sudden growth*

In what ways I had grown?

I usually use Textese or text talk when I started RPing, and when I look at my past posts, I felt horrible and I was always aghast at myself. And I also did characters that either had no flaw, or a character that is an orphan. v.v Feels awful.

But then only recently I realized that it was scary on how I'd grown so fast in terms of RPing. Really freaking scary. I began doing multi-paragraph posts and almost perfect grammar and spelling, and put the correct punctuations in the right places. ((That is, if my roleplaying partner is worth RPing with.)) And I also began teaching other new RPers on the things that they had to do and not what to do. And, I also have this insatiable itch to correct another person's grammar/spelling when they get it wrong. =.=

I text talked in the beginning as well. Horrifying now that I think about it...I had character flaws down pretty well, but they usually had their parents die or I just didn't give any background info at all, which is really lame and boring now that I think about it.

You have more patience than I, I would not be able to teach new roleplayers...just makes me freak out. I've tried a few times, in the simplest ways, and they're still confused, so I end up shaking my computer and screaming at it, asking them how they can be that thick. I ALWAYS want to correct grammar and spelling. If it's really bad and I catch it here, I usually do fix it. sweatdrop

I've grown so much since I began. I think it's most evident in the depth of the characters I tend to create these days. I don't go good guys or bad guys so much as I do characters that generally try their best to do right by the standards they've been raised to recognize, which has given me awesome opportunities to mess with sympathetic antagonists. I've also learned to make my characters way more realistic, flawed and lovable, which means I get more deeply attached, even though I've jettisoned the mary-sue thing I had goin' on ten years ago.

Yes, I started RPing ten years ago.

DON'T JUDGE ME. gonk

I've grown quite a bit since I first stated RPing back in... well, I joind Gaia in 2004, but I was doing chat room RPs for a few years before that so... wow, I'm probably near, if not past, nine years of RPing. *dual face-palm*

That up that also serves to show how I RP'd back then. I was lucky enough that when I joined my first semi-lit RP to have someone guide me step-by-step in the transition, changing one post from non-lit to semi-lit. The characters I like to make my characters evil, or to be horribly nerdy, chaotically neutral, but less in a power-hungry sort of way and more in a 'violence is a perfectly acceptable way to end an argument' sort of way. My character also tend to be rather flawed in their way of thinking (if you missed it in the last sentence), and in a somewhat fragile mental state. Not to say I don't like doing other characters,

Although it still takes me an eternity to make a profile or post, and I'm not quite up to multi-paragraph posts (or so I keep telling myself).

A long long time ago on a gaia account long forgotten my RP skills were so horrible I didn't last a month on gaia. So I quit.after a while I rejoined gaia under another username and began learning. My favorite Character to date was part of a roleplay that I found extremely fun but it died fairly quickly. I technically prefer the clumsy character myself and she was just that. A headstrong girl who was still unable to control her powers.

Nowadays I am so picky about certain things involved in Roleplays that it is hard for me to find one that I like.
