More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Annie sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. The two were a headache and Alexavier was right about Shane consuming him being dangerous. "I'd kill you before that could happen if that came to be an issue," Annie muttered. In the back of her mind she added, and I will kill you if I get half a chance.

Forcing a smile, her Barbie smile as she liked to call it, she stepped forward towards Alexavier and extended a hand, "Thank-you. We have a deal, then. I'm Annabella Soulsmith. It only seems fair that you know my name since we all will be traveling together for some time."

Her smile becoming more genuine, she added, "And don't worry about Shane: I can keep him distracted."

Larry's face became sullen and confused. He turned his heard over and down toward his sister.

She looked up at him and said, "It's all good. She's also sorry about yesterday."

Larry smiled and nodded. He turned his head back toward Trinity and gave her a big slow thumbs up. "Good."

Heather looked between Theonis and Trinity, but more at Trinity. Her dewlap fell a bit instinctively. "So...I guess we should let you guys get back to breakfast."

Trinity waved to them, "Alright enjoy her stay.". She paused distracted by Theonis' hair ,"Nice hair" she laughed a little and smiled. She played with his hair a little. Looking into his eyes.

Shane could hardly believe what he was seeing as Cassandra just strut away from him and through another wall. He retracted the biomass he had burrowing a hole in the ground and stood up.

He cautiously stepped into the store to find the patrons surrounding Annie and a strange boy with a similar bio-signature to Cassandra. Upon closer inspection he saw that Annie was extending a hand to the boy.

"What is this? Annie...what did you do?"

Larry lumbered back to his seat to finish his stack of food, but Heather hung back for just a second to watch how Theonis and Trinity acted around each other.

She was disappointed, certainly, but at the same time she wasn't surprised. She found it difficult to find people with the same preferences as her, and also to be able to overlook her glaring mutation.

Her dewlap retracted, and then she followed Larry back to their seats.

There were no dreams, there was no darkness, no light. There was no feeling, no numbness, no sound, no silence. Nothingness was the only thing around. A void was the only thing to perceive, if it could even be perceived. No sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, nothing even for the deepest, darkest, earliest recesses of the mind to grasp. Not even any memories to revisit, not even the memory of memories. Not even thought was possible, or the thought of thoughts. there was nothing, not even time in this void.

Suddenly, a light. Dim at first, but growing. Gently, constantly, growing. Muscles twitch, eyelids open. Gentle light, artificial light, gently buzzing, setting off a sense few others have. Maybe no others have.

Memories return. Were they ever gone? The answer can't be remembered. Who else has been through what he has? Scars make themselves felt now, etched over every limb. Each with a story. No doubt more will join them, but when?

Warmth, and a familiar smell. His jacket lay across his chest, placed there by someone he couldn't recall. His boots were gone, on the floor next to the couch. He was on a couch. In a room. His room. It was underground.

He blinked, raising a hand to his head with what felt like tremendous effort. He groaned with a throat full of sand and gravel, and tried to sit up as conscious thought returned to him. He'd had another blackout. They'd been happening more frequently lately, or, at least he thought. He couldn't remember, just as he could never remember what he was doing just before. He could remember where he was; some underground facility, safe, named something Norse. Valhalla.

He swung his legs off of the couch, resting his arms on his knees as he stared at the floor. Why was he here? What had brought him back? He'd left so many years ago, for some reason long forgotten, and now he'd returned, like some pointless prodigal son. Was he even wanted? Was he taking up a room they could give to someone else?

He needed a drink. Water, tea, soda, anything to wet his desert-dry throat. He must have been out for a while. He stood on legs that were suddenly wobbly, with a head that was so light it should have helped him stay upright. He nearly collapsed before catching himself, and stumbled over to the kitchen. He steadied himself on the counter, finding his balance again. He opened a cabinet and reached for a glass, but his fingers still weren't awake, and the plastic cup went bouncing to the floor. He watched it for a moment before turning back to grasp another one, this time managing to hold it long enough to fill it with water and bring it to his lips.

Once his thirst was quenched and his head was clearer, he turned to look about the apartment he'd been given. Nothing looked as though it had been moved, but it was hard to tell, as his backpack on the bed was his only possession decorating the place. It was as thought some unseen, unknown person, or persons, had brought him back to this place, and simply left.


(Sorry for the sort of rambling and existential post. I get inspired when I find (or redeiscover) good music, and I stumbled upon Godspeed You Black Emperor again. This is what happens when you give me twenty-minute long ambient tracks. )

"I talked to the head," said Annie with a smile as she turned at Shane's questions. "The car might be a little cramped, though. They both are coming with us."

She walked towards Shane and grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled herself onto her tiptoes and kissed him on the lips. Pausing her lips not even an inch from his she said, "You should know that brute strength doesn't always accomplish one's goals. Don't worry about it. Just give them some space and they won't bother you. I promise- or at least he promised. You trust me, right? I know your goals, I will make sure you accomplish them."

Kissing him one more time she pulled away and whispered, "I wouldn't hurt you." That is I wouldn't hurt you if I don't have to, Annie added darkly in her head. Would Annie betray Shane to save herself? Perhaps. In fact, she knew the answer to even be probably. Sure she loved Shane but she had to consider protecting herself long enough for Christian to be old enough to raise himself safely. She didn't trust anyone else with Christian, even sending him to her father would be dangerous since they knew her father's identity. And, Valhalla? Gidget or Trinity didn't strike her as women with the maternal instinct to raise a child.

"Catch you two later." Theonis said with a smile and gave them a nod.

"Uh yeah.." he removed the rubber band from his hair to let it fall down. It was already ruffled by Larry so letting a sloppy ponytail like that stay in wouldn't look so good."You too."

"My eyes are still the same right? Still golden no?"

Trinity smiled as he let his hair down. "Yes they're still golden, just as they were when we first met." she said with a hint of a laugh. She let go of his his hair. Then decided to pickup breakfast, she picked up some oatmeal, added some raisins and craisins. She then picked up some cranberry juice and pointed out to Theonis the empty table where she would be sitting.

"Good, would hate to have em change just after I am used to them." Theonis replied as they walked toward the empty table.

"I wonder how long my hair is going to be tomorrow since it already grew a bit last night,Guess all I can do is wait and find out. But I am sure I would have plenty distraction at night.Unless you of course decide to stay at your own place." Theonis said casually, teasing her a bit.

"Alexavier Aiden." He replied as he shook her hand. "And I am Cassandra Aiden. No..she is. This really is confusing at times..." Alexavier muttered a bit at the end.

When Annie kissed Shane, Alexavier spoke up." Ah I see what you mean."

Cassandra however seemed to be getting jealous as she walked right over to Alexavier and kissed him deeply. He responded by doing the same. When she pulled away she reacted as if he forcefully kissed her. Strangely enough Alexavier apologized as if he did do that.

Trinity's cheeks pinked a little then she smoothed her hair out a little by combing her fingers thought her hair. She held the end of her hair at the back of her neck then looked up then looked away at first. "I had been considering, if it's okay with you, that perhaps we should ... I dunno... live together?" well she popped the question she really hope it wasn't too soon but... being able to sleep without the light bed was really nice and it was really nice to spend some quality time with Theonis. Everything they been through so far seemed to smooth out. Even so, she felt it was best to ask what his thoughts the idea was.

He would let her think he could be swayed by such things for now, but no amount of Annie's affection would keep him from his mission.

He looked over Annie's shoulder at the other two. "If you threaten my sister or Annie's son in any way I will end you."

He diected that at Alex with a hint of ravenous hunger in his eyes.

"Why would I do such a thing? We're not monsters Shane." Alexavier replied casually."We can control our impulses. Can you? Oh speaking of which...you must be hungry." With that he send one of his shields to Shane and let him stand in front of him." Thought you could use a snack."

When Shane spoke to Alexavier Cassandra instinctively got between them.

"Well. I...I suppose we could." Theonis was caught off guard."It IS rather fast wouldn't you say? But..."Theonis took a small pause. Afterall it WAS a big step" I would....like that" He replied with a genuine smile. He then chuckled slightly."That being said if we keep up this speed we will end up married within a couple of weeks."

Shane couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was Annie so unsure of being able to kill him that she had to make a deal with two people more unstable than he is? His approaching protest was cur short by her kiss. As much as he enjoyed it he was equally as offended by it. He would let her think he could be swayed by such things for now, but no amount of Annie's affection would keep him from his mission.

He looked over Annie's shoulder at the other two. "If you threaten my sister or Annie's son in any way I will end you."

He diected that at Alex with a hint of ravenous hunger in his eyes.

Annie turned at Alexavier's offer. Her brown eyes narrowed, at his offer of a 'snack' for Shane. What was he thinking? "That is not funny," she commented dryly waving her hand at one of the individuals from his human mob shield. Annie pinched the bridge of her nose before letting go, she glanced at Shane, "If they are a threat to my son or Gidget, you will have to get in line. I will kill them, first."

She stepped away from Shane, turning into a liquid form, snaking past Cassandra and reappearing in front of Alexavier. She placed a hand on his shoulder and whispered into his ear, "Know this: the reason I made this deal is to protect as many people as possible. I am not someone you want as an enemy. I will kill both halves of you. Don't test my patience."
