Kamiki Ha, I like those both, though the second one is probably rooted in a bit more 'truth.'
I'll have to get with Luna to develop an Origin story for the Hatetalons (for the Hatetalons sake). They would most likely believe to the be original and stronger ones, of course, with the Flock being the weakling populists smile
Both stories are very creative Mind. =D
I agree with Kamiki on the second one being my choice, simply because it's more in depth.
We could make an opposing Origin story, that kind of tells their side of the story. Each story different in it's own way.
As for a possible war, I would want it to be chivalrous when it comes to numbers. Ooc, I would want the Hatetalons to have as big of a herd as The Flock. Truth is, they don't have the numbers that the Flock does.
The Hatetalons would need to find requirements or the aid of another herd before there was any kind of battle between the two. There could be a big build up leading to the war, in which both parties have ample time to prepare.

@mewsings: The Flock doesnt really allow for outside lifemates or 'fraternizing' with outsiders in such a way (if a mare comes home pregnant willingly from a stallion and it's figured out to be an outsider, if she was a willing partner she'd be frowned upon and seen as 'unclean' by a good chunk of the old-school flock.. Doubly so if they're outsiders that became members of the flock because it shows how 'damaged' the outside has made them). If she kept it a secret she might get away with it for a while, but being someone who joined the flock rather than being born in it, her wandering off so often would raise suspicion of her being a spy and she'd eventually be followed and caught in the act and, from what I know of the current queen, be given a choice: Either capture the stallion and remain in the flock, or leave and forbidden to return, being considered a traitor... Which could be a fun plot and allow you a nice long period of time before a plot of her being caught in the act is used. And it'd take a niiiice long time with lots of RP to actually reach that point
@Crimsoncutie: Haha well, if she 'loses' too many of them she'd lose her ability to venture out of the nesting grounds or artisan guild with any of them (Since both are heavily guarded areas) so that'd only work a while or if its only a random but small amount a year, and not every single stallion. I'm not sure how the scream works, but it DOES sound like something a hippogryph might be able to do if they get close enough to a person and train their voices. You'll have to ask Uta though to doubly make sure. Would likely be a sort of loud, sustained, high-pitch whistle.
@lunadriel: Haha well like I said both of them are legends of the flock, though The second one is likely the most commonly told by priestesses while the first is more like a little fairy tale. They likely also use ,Hatetalons, skinwalkers, Humans, and.. Well "Outsiders, ESPECIALLY stallions" As bad guys in all their stories. The hatetalons though are their most loathed since they're the most like them XD
And as I mentioned in the PM you sent me, there are ways the hatetalons can bulk up artificially, and still be dangerous in smaller numbers. If you haven't read it yet, I also mentioned some ways that may help draw people INTO the Hatetalon flock. biggrin Though some Mythos would CERTAINLY help flesh them out a bit.

Approved! Haha maybe I should make a form specifically for Flockborn stallions.
Tamiko_kitten You see these shackles, baby, I'm your slave. Name: Tamiko_kitten Soquili's name & cert: Larken Reason for joining: I've always loved the flock and wanted to join but I've never really had a soqulil that fit the bill. I just think the whole herd dynamic and roleplay potential is super interesting and I'd love to be involved with it! How did he end up being captured?: Given his looks I was hoping to have him be flockborn. Will you be escaping later? If yes, how?: nope, the flock is his home! AIM?: don't have one Do you acknowledge that you understand the Flock's practices?: Yes!

Hey sister, go sister, soul sister, flow sister~ Name: Lhuysii Soquili's name & cert: Lhuysii ((I'm a little eager - This is her uncert; I haven't gotten her cert yet, but I'd be happy to repost when I do? Reason for joining: Ah, well, I've been wanting a harpy in the flock for a while. I was lucky enough to win this beauty from the recent paid raffle, and she, well, really fits in with the harpies. Not only does she have the same physical features of the original harpies, but I think the feel I have for her fits more in line with the flock rather than the hatetalons IC reason for joining: I would ideally like to ICly have had Lhuysii born in the flock. Desired rank and reason: Keeper of the Sacred Lore I'm posting the personality I view her having, and how she would fit in with the role if you see it
Personality: Lhuysii is a young, whimsical, friendly mare born in the flock. She is rarely seen without a whimsical smile on her face. She sometimes across as distant or distracted, with her head is usually in the clouds. Some mistake her for being a little slow or touched, but Lhuysii is actually bright, just with different priorities and manners than most. Her strengths fall more to the creative side, and she rarely is in any kind of a hurry. She can get lost in thought, and sometimes when it seems like she isn't listening - she actually is giving quite a bit of thought and imagination to the words she's hearing, even if she doesn't respond immediately to direct questions. She is pleasant, sweet, and courteous to her sisters and even usually to the stallions (Although she certainly doesn't question the "natural order" of things in the flock and the stallions' role to serve the mares.
Lhuysii's role in the flock is a Keeper of the Sacred Lore ((IF this is all right smile ))- a simple priestess. She loves conveying the stories and customs of their beliefs to foals, and helping assist in the set up for the seasonal festivals. She is artistic and loves color, but integrates it more into festivals and teaching rather than necessarily having much in the way of talent or creating anythign practical.
AIM?: I have one - PM me if you want it - I just feel weird posting it publically X3. Do you acknowledge that you understand the Flock's practices?: Yes
