Pretty much what the title says there. Is there enough of us left to attempt bringing life back into the RPs once again? I know I can pull my boyfriend into playing with us, but I mean, who among us is still here even? And if we do start it up again, what sections do we want to keep? I mean it's been a LONG time since we have played any of these in depth, I know MY tastes in games have changed since then. Do we want to scrap some things and start up some new ideas in their place?

What say you all?

Ohey! Some posts!

I'd probably be willing to go with whatever. I fear we may have lost Ryu Shikaze, though, as repeated attempts to get him to post here have met with constant failure. Even if we do eventually succeed in getting him here, his interest will likely be short-lived. A shame since he's key to multiple RPGs.

I'm all for an attempt at revival even if it means restructuring some things here. We've come back from worse and we can come back from this.

Ryu can be brought back and he has looked here... it's just a matter of sufficient poking, and for keeping him here, it's a matter of things still moving. Admittedly, the full return of the three of us as part of the admin quartet could keep him here, so here's hoping. I'll snag him once he gets back online tonight.

As for other people... Bonzai will also need sufficient poking, but he is in fact still around. Azza's sitting right here and says she's definitely still here. Paran would probably be as Paran was in the past... here, but only active in a few RPs. JC has said that he's interested in jumping back into X-Men, but he wants to wait and see if the community is fully revived before committing to anything, which is understandable. Unfortunately, it appears that Kat, Michael, Lici, and Sean won't be returning. Real life kind of bit all four of them. In the end... it looks like it's once again our core group from the days of old that's still here regardless of nudges needed... and that's actually pretty cool.

In any case, while I love every RPG we've got and have ever had, some RPGs I'd love to keep, but others, as much as I'd love to revive them, I'd be all right with letting them fade as I don't want anyone here to feel tied to something they're half-interested in. It's a team effort, after all. I know that I'd definitely like to keep X-Men... that's my biggest one even if we need to jump into another version of the current plot or something else entirely. That one's flexible enough. Also for keeping, possibly Final Fantasy so that we can finally move on from where we'd been there. Cowboy Bebop, I love it since it was the first one I got to co-mod, but I understand if that one needs to go to the retired list. Dreigania, I'm happy and willing to continue to host it, but we need other people to respond to it. The others, I love and am willing to do whichever with, so long as I get to save files of all of our writings regardless. XD

But yeah, I feel that a good balance of keeping/reviving and making new RPs might be the way to go. I know that we'll figure something out that works for everyone. That's just the kind of group we are.

Yarhar da ne.

We can do this. I can spam a few advertisements at the forum I most frequent. There's been a surge in RPing there anyways.

In all honesty, the only ones I can still see myself getting into is X-men and Bebop. And for both, I would think it best to kind of take an account of what characters we have and don't. Also what characters we NEED to have. I think I might be able to talk my boyfriend into possibly picking up a few of the key characters that might not have players anymore. I don't wanna jump BACK to some all new start.... again (how many has X had now?) So I think it best if we did it to just kind of find a new point to pick it up from in the near future of where things were kind of left off.

Sounds good to me. And I say we start small with the group here before spam advertising, although it's good to know about that. Shoot, a couple of my WERP friends might be interested in an RP or two here, but we'll see.

In any case, that's good to know, Amby... those are two I really wanted to see stay. XD As far as characters go, you're exactly right. I think a good part of what we'll need to do is work out which characters stay (obviously the ones we made and play), in the case of X-Men which characters go to pure NPC or off the list all together, and from there for both X-Men and Bebop, figure out what/who we need to add. I know that we've got the crew of the Bebop lined up perfectly, but while I can handle the bounties, we could definitely use some one shot characters per "episode". Ryu can likely help out with that. And yay for a potential new player... that could be very awesome. ^_^

As for jumping to new start points, I agree. Bebop is actually already in a really good spot to jump right into, as the crew is about to land on Venus and go after a bounty there. That arc can be a whole adventure of its own as well as a kick start to resume the RP. On X-Men, either we could modify the plan that you and I had come up with for the current arc, jump to the end of that and summarize what happened, restart it, or figure out another direction to go. I'm frankly in favor of what you said there, of finding a new point to pick it off in the near future. We'll just have to do some character juggling and we should be set.

Egads, a me!

Yeah, I'm alive, and about to hit a non-busy spot in life between my university course finishing and entering the real world.

I'm willing to keep Discworld up, but I need to restructure it a little at some point. I need the storytelling practice, but maybe there's something to be learned form this thread: We're running a pretty unique form of collaborative storytelling, where people not only tell stories together, but can also join and leave at any time.
When I plan Discworld out more fully, I'm going to see if I can take that into account somehow. The best solution we've come up with so far is somewhat forced, but then, it may be the only solution.

Also: might I suggest Google Wave for brainstorming things? We use it at P&R and it's been really helpful.

And I am now a Bachelor of Music! I may need poking a bit, but I should have the time to respond now. Let's get things moving!

Congratulations and yay! I'm back from Scotland now, so I'm definitely more ready than ever to help kickstart our re-revival of things.

I know I'd discussed this with each of the admins at some point or another over the past month or so, but the four of us need to meet up on AIM at some point and hammer out this revival, as that will be way more efficient than trying to do it solely via this thread.

So, Amby, Ryu, and Pory... when would be good for you guys to meet online?

Let's see...probably afternoon-to-early-evening Sunday would be best for me. I'll be out until probably somewhere between 1 and 2, but after that I should be here until my attention is pulled elsewhere at around 8 PM.

(Convenient that we're all in the same time zone.)

I know we're all online right now, but late night meetings won't work since any of us might have to go to bed before we finish. Shall we try for this Sunday since we didn't get the chance the last two?
