I don't think there's currently a religion that revolves around music, but you could certainly make one. If music is what brings out your spiritual side, then maybe that's the path you should take.

I think there are some religions which, though they don't worship music, do incorporate it. Music and dance and such can be highly spiritual things, so it makes sense that some faiths include songs during services and such.

To me dancing and singing in a group is one way of gathering energy, and is a form of worship.
Religion is your own, personal beliefs, and if you truly beleve in music, i guess you could have a "Bad Religion" religion... So you dont have to google it- bad religion is a band

I pretty much do worship music... Music is my life. I couldn't go one day without picking up one of my countless instruments or listening to a song.

Bowing down and worshipping it would be no problem for me lol

The closest u could get in Rastafarian but that's only because most of its members were/are Reggae Artists, but that Religion is discriminate because you have to be African or of African decedent to join it. But yea basically that's the closest you could get Religion wise but hey what's to stop you from making a new religion? AND PASTAFARISM IS A REAL RELIGION DAMN IT WORSHIP THE NODDLE!! *bows before the noddly appendage* Thats the funniest religion and I love it even if i don't believe them come on who doesn't love Pasta though?

The Idea of worshiping music itself is not that ideal but if you think about it The String Theory suggests that everything is made up of vibrating energy rings, isn't music also energy? and isn't music also a very powerful energy? haven't you ever felt affected or compelled by music? has a song ever "resonated" within you? I love music, especially "Hard-style" music because i feel like i "become part of the music"; you know? so i mean making a religion based around energy and unison of the world through sound isn't that unrealistic. 3nodding

Although you can develop a belief system around music, you cannot make a religion around music. That would be called a cult. There is a VERY fine line between religion and cult, but religion is usually a "cleaner" word.

Cult:
1
: formal religious veneration : worship
2
: a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents
3
: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents
4
: a system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator <health cults>
5
a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad
b : the object of such devotion
c : a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion

Religion:
1
a : the state of a religious <a nun in her 20th year of religion>
b (1) : the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
2
: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
3
archaic : scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness
4
: a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

The main difference between the two is the freedom of analysis (mainly, although there are plenty of other differences.)
For example, there isn't much deviance in the beliefs of the KKK, but there are hundreds of different sects of Christianity.

Well, music is more logical than the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and I love music, and music is a large part of many religions, so i can respect your views. But on that note, you tell me how global warming and pirates are connected, as those who worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster believe. (Not to mention the fact that they think the FSM created the world, when spaghetti was invented in the 9th century...)

As a devout pastafarian, (All hail his noodley appendages) I have come to spread his holey word to nonbelievers. As PROVEN by the Gospel Of The Flying Spaghetti Monster, written by the prophet, Bobbi Henderson, there is a DIRECT CORRELATION between the downfall of pirates and the rise of global warming, therefore PROVING BEYOND SHADOW OF DOUBT that global warming is a DIRECT RESULT of the world's loss of piratetry. (Actually, pastafarians don't literally believe this, but instead use it as an example of how correlation does not prove causation.Pastafarianism is more of a belief system than an actual religion.)

Sufism isn't really a religion, but some of its lineages center around music as a spiritual practice. Their practices are very rewarding experiences.

Yes, there is! A branch of Muslims known as Sufis use music as their means to connect with and worship God/Allah. I shouldn't have favourites among religion branches but of the various Muslim branches, I admire Sufis the most. And they are actually a religion, to whomever thinks they are not.

I'm a vaisnava (pronounced vaishnava) and we also use music, we refer to as kirtana and bhajana, as a means to worship God/Krishna.
