Entering the arena Vivi was surprised to See Discord. “I haven’t seen you in awhile.” She said looking at an old opponent. “I haven’t seen you in awhile.” Discord said looking back at Vivi. "Shall we?" Vivi’s tail perked up as her grin got slightly wider. “I’m ready.”

Lifting one of his hands up towards Vivi’s direction energy began forming in the shape of a chattering skull. Releasing the energy it flew towards Vivi who easily flipped over it. Taking more energy Discord formed another chattering skull and sent it flying towards her. Seeing the skull Vivi pushed herself off the ground easily flipping over it. “I thought you wanted to fight?” Vivi said as she landed, throwing some cards at him. “I am.” Discord replied as he moved his feet trying the dodge the cards. Not feeling himself, as he only dodged a couple, he felt a few cards slice him along his face and more slice him along his arm.

Recovering from the slices Discord was sent falling backwards as Vivi’s fist slammed into his face. Moving a foot to catch himself he swung a fist back at Vivi hitting her on the chest. Moving her foot Vivi took a few steps back from the blow Discord swung another fist. Moving back into a crab walk Vivi dodged Discord’s fist.

While pushing herself upwards onto a handstand Vivi wrapped her tail around one of Discord’s legs as she swung her feet at him. Moving his free leg Discord took a step back as he dodged the feet. Feeling his other leg suddenly caught he began felling towards the ground. Hitting the ground sand flew everywhere around him as Vivi grabbed a knife from her card. Throwing the knife Vivi started dragging Discord into her card. Moving an arm upwards over his head he felt the knife cut into his arm as he was dragged into Vivi’s card. Minutes later he exited, in parts.

"Well, here goes nothing."

Time just seemed to pass so quickly, had it truly been well over a year since she had last stepped foot into this worn arena? It just hardly seemed real. So much had changed, but yet this arena was still the same, albeit quieter. As the necromancer stepped further into the arena, listening to the sand crunch beneath her feet, old memories felt like new. The roar of the crowd seemed to echo through the empty arena, phantoms of what once was. In her mind, she saw the old regulars as they had once been.

She had been so sickly at first. Weak. Forced to rely on her pets and her magic, rather than her own merits. Now, she was stronger. No longer did she allow her pets to be risked in combat, and magic was a last resort. She had her switchblade now, and it usually served as enough. Still, it had been silent these past few months, even in the frantic life of a necromancer, and one needed to keep their skills sharp. Perhaps someone would be here. There usually was.

"Hello?" She called out, glancing around the arena. There was no response. Was the place truly abandoned? It seemed so. She couldn't help but sigh. It seemed like she'd have to do without a fight. Turning around, disappointed, Rhea started to make her way out of the arena, only for a heavy weight to hit her from behind, tackling her to the ground.

"You should watch your back," Vivi grinned, jumping back. "Never know who's hiding in the stands or atop the columns, waiting to strike." Her tail waved in the air as she waited for the necromancer to rise. "I've been waiting a while for a good fight."

"You could have spoken up when I said something." Rhea managed as she struggled to her feet, grimacing as she retrieved her switchblade.

"But then I wouldn't have had the element of surprise."

"Point taken." Well, the necromancer had wanted a fight, and she was getting one, even if it hadn't started as she had expected. Not hesitating, she launched herself at Vivi, swinging the switchblade in a wide arc. Lithe as always, Vivi flipped back, managing to escape with the bade barely grazing her leg. Before she even landed on her feet, she flung her trademark cards at Rhea. The necromancer, while quick, was not quick enough to dodge. Raising her arms, she did what she could to protect her face and neck, the cards embedding themselves in her arm.

"Damn." Rhea pulled one of the cards out with a grunt, moving into a sprint to dodge another barrage of cards. Determined not to end up the card equivalent of a pincushion, Rhea lunged at Vivi, intending to go for the throat, only for Vivi to jump effortlessly over the necromancer, her tail wrapping around the other's arm and jerking it painfully. Yelping as her shoulder was forcefully dislocated, Rhea dropped her switchblade.

Now unarmed, the necromancer did her best to resist whimpering in pain as she slowly circled Vivi, determined not to let her see her pain. She couldn't give in yet, she still had more fight. She paused for a moment, to gather her thoughts, which would cost her. Ever the opportunist, Vivi took this time to throw a final card, which embedded itself in the necromantrix's throat.

This victory was Vivi's.
