Yes, I have revived the News thread. . .

I used to post everything that went on in the guild, but now I will just post relevant info.


February 1st, 2008:

The launch of our role play sections~! Even if you've never role played before, there's no time like the present to start.

There is one section for Ar Tonelico related Role Plays, and also a general role play for those who either don't feel comfortable with the characters/setting, or generally just don't want to wrap their mind around it so much, or have a larger imagination than just Sol Ciel.

The only catch is that there's some READING to do X_x I know it's long and boring, but if you already know some of it, it's OKAY to skim through.



The "Life Issues + Rants" section also recently appeared out of no where a few days ago too. Some people just want to talk about their life and problems, so here's the opportunity~! It's relevant to Ar Tonelico because Lyner tends to do it a lot for the Reyvatiels and then when Lyner doubts himself, his friends also help him realize that he's being foolish/needs to believe in himself more/trust them more and rely on them.


I hope these new features to the guild will encourage everyone to have a fun experience here besides the mass of 'random discussion' sections that there was only offering before.

That's the first scan of an upcoming PS3 RPG called Cross Edge. Its one of those multicompany crossover games featuring characters from Disgaea, Ar tonelico, Atelier Marie, Mana-Khemia 2 (even though its not out yet biggrin ), Darkstalkers, and Spectral Souls.

A fighting game evolved from the masterpiece that swept the entire country in a historic boom: Street Fighter II. Noted for its well-developed game system and high-quality production, it has to some degree affected all subsequent games of its genre.

Ar tonelico: Sekai no Owari de Utaitsudzukeru Shoujo, Bandai-Namco Games (I totally forgot BNG published this game... -- Ed.)

An RPG developed through a tag-team effort between Banpresto and Gust. It featured a unique system where the interactions of the soul between Reyvateils -- young girls capable of using song magic -- and the protagonist will influence story and battle.

Makai Senki Disgaea, Nippon Ichi Software

A simulation RPG filled to the brim with gameplay elements. Full of personality and brand new ideas such as allowing the player to adjust game blance via the in-game Congress.

Using as its stage the Neverland continent upon which most Idea Factory games take place, a grand war drama unfolds in this simulation RPG. Afterwards, multiple sequels were made.

Marie no Atelier ~Salburg no Renkinjutsushi~ is an alchemy-themed RPG. Mana-Khemia 2 ~Ochita Gakuen to Renkinjutsushi-tachi~ is the latest installment in a popular series that follows that tradition.

World Setting & Story

The young man awakens in a place he's entirely unfamiliar with -- a dream-like, unrealistic world. However, the monsters that attack him are real enough, and he hears this from a young girl who, like the protagonists, originally lived in a different world than this one: "We've been waiting for you to arrive." This "world" apparently gathers the souls of people from other worlds, and if it continues to imprison people in this manner, their homeworlds will disappear. In order to break the connection between this "world" and the other worlds and to release all the imprisoned souls, the young man sets off on his journey of adventure.

Protagonist: Kannagi Yuuto

The main character of the game. Has a straight-forward, quick-to-get-in-a-fight personality. Widely considered a problem child by those around him. Born in a renowned family of ancient martial arts practitoners and therefore skilled at jiu-jitsu, he's tired of boring, old-fashioned martial arts and has recently taken a fancy to shooting. According to him, his (shooting) ability is Olympic-class.

Heroine: Aiba Mikoto

A girl who was taken to Yuuto's home after losing both of her parents at a young age. Though she repeatedly demonstrated a sensitivity to the existence of spirits when she was young, she currently appears to be no different than any ordinary girl. Along with the disappearance of her special abilities, however, she's become prone to nightmares...

Game System Check!

Title: Release the souls imprisoned in a mysterious world!

The setting of the game is fashioned through the collection of souls from multiple disparate worlds, such as the demon world inhabited by the characters of Vampire and Makai Senki Disgaea, and the illusory world inhabited by the characters of Marie no Atelier and Ar tonelico. The goal of the game is to release various souls from imprisonment, and the storyline will advance once a certain number of souls have been freed. Release all the souls and proceed to defeat the source of all evil!

Dungeons exist in each of the worlds. Search them in order to release the souls.

A world composed of elements from various alternate worlds

Battle: Direct Action Turn Battle

You'll encounter enemies while exploring the alternate worlds, and turn-based battles will ensue in which up to 4 characters may attack with various skills. You may assign skills to the Triangle, Circle, Square, and X buttons for each of your characters. An assigned skill will be activated with a single button press in battle... spectacular ecstacy! (I'm not making that up. -- Ed.) Chain attacks will occur when skills are used in consecutive sequence, so be prepared for the deep strategy and plethora of system elements born from this approach.

After you use a skill, a chain attack will be established if you follow up with another skill usage within a certain time limit.

Activate skills consecutively and damage will increase!!

By consecutively attacking an enemy, you decrease its defense value to zero and can then deliver massive damage with a single stroke.

JN: "Those are two exciting games that we would love to work on, but we're not quite ready yet to make any announcements. Don't worry. We're not saying that these games aren't coming to the States. When the game is ready to be revealed, we will make sure to notify everyone."

JN: "Ahhh, I'm assuming you have seen X Edge from some of Japan's press releases. It's an awesome looking game with an amazing cast of characters. All of us in the office are craving to work on the game, but we aren't sure what's going on just yet. As soon as we get word from Japan about who's working on this game, we'll notify you."
