Eladrian avoided looking at him, sipping his wine as his anger grew slowly. "She was marked for death, it my orders that I should kill every member of the ruling class if the oppertuntiy presents itself. But. I was glad when you refused, and instad asked me to take you with me." he snapped. Putting the cup down.
here Amun breathed a sigh of relief and crossed his fingers that they would now drop this subject.
"You do not have to come with me Ialu. but sooner or later, propably sooner, the authorities will capture you again and question you about the Shana-ete's death. You will die Ialu...."

Ialu blinked, then set his eyes back on Eladrian's, unfaltering. He wanted the truth. Without breaking his gaze, he picked up Eladrian's goblet and took a long sip of wine. Passing it back to Eladrian, he said softly, "I didn't say a word about not coming with you." He licked his lips, "It would be idiotic not to. Only her advisor and two guards even knew you were purchased, and I took care of her advisor. You think those guards will defend me? They hate me. I'm the prime suspect. Let me go and they won't even give me the luxury of questioning. I'll be killed on spot."
He paused and picked up Eladrian's turkey leg, taking a bite. It was delicious, almost enough so to make his composure slip. He closed his eyes as he chewed, swallowing quickly to bite out, "Just so I know, the whole 'purity' thing with unicorns is based on sex, right? Because she obviously doesn't care about petty things like murder."

Eladrian stood up, 'how dare this servant question me? one part of him wanted to yell out in indignation. His green eyes smoldering in silent anger he slowly walked out, his head high and his back stiff.
Amun sighed into his cup. "You should learn to tame your tongue Ialu, your Lord will not be so generous next time." the merchant lend forwards. "You interest me, Would you object if I make an offer to Eladrian?" Another sigh. " I suppose he wouldn't Eldren-men can be so stubborn with their possessions. Anyways, I would like to know more about you, Who where your parents? Comparing you from others and now Lord Eladrian, It's clear that one of them wasn't a southerner."

Eladrian felt the hot sand under his feet, the night was cooling down, sending a shiver thought him. The elf looked over his shoulder at the circle of fires then turned back to look up at the stars, they where in slightly different potions then back home. He sighed. He missed home, the smell of the grass the trees, the welcoming wind.
The elf's back itched, he arched back groaning at he felt the wind caress his bared back. Silver hair whipping to one side revealing just for a moment strange marks on the skin, like birthmarks just below his shoulder blades.
'The thermals in the dessert are vast. I bet even the most weakest of fliers would not have trouble climbing to the heavens on such a day... even my mentor would...
He paused, digging his bare feet into the warm sand. His mentor would not be pleased with him. Getting homesick, making blunders....and losing all of his men on the boiling sea. The young Lord winced, imaging the man's expression of disapproval when ...if he ever got back.
'Why didn't I just leave him behind?" he asked himself out loud. "It's not like I need the extra baggage...." He grappled with his current problem. "Perhaps I should let Amun take him in...teach him to ride camels, he could always use another driver..."
The sound of the elf's voice brought Maya. The horse creature never strayed too far from her master. She nuzzled his shoulder and nickered softly.
"Maya.....How long has it been? It's nearly time to breed you soon huh?" Eladrian raised his hands and rubbed her face. "My betrothed told me that I too can lose my purity when you are finally breed, then our bound would be completed." he let himself smile.
Yes that was another reason that he volunteered for this mission, The High-Lord's son had taken off with the his most prized stallion, a massive black charger those breeding was said to include Numarian horses. A breed that was said to be the horses that pulled the Sun-God's Chariot across the sky.
"Ahh, Maya...I'm such a fool." He pressed his face into her milk-white mane. wanting comfort from a familiar creature.

Ialu tensed when Eladrian stood up, bracing himself to be hit, knowing Eladrian could kill him if he wished. But the elf walked out. Ialu stared at the tent flap, feeling almost more indignant that the elf didn't rise to the bait. Maybe this was what all nobles and royals were like: selfish, self-righteous pricks. He had masters like Eladrian before, the kind that tried to convince themselves they were doing a favor for Ialu, that their slave was better off with them. And, whether he meant to or not, Eladrian had created that situation with Ialu. Glossing over, unable to listen, he erupted suddenly at Amun, "Can you believe them?! All of them, he's just like all of them! I was an idiot to think he was anything more than another master. Then he has the gall to tell me I'm impure! Like it's my fault! He doesn't care. He thinks of me as his act of kindness for the day. Should I get down on my knees and kiss his feet?" Ialu kept it up, but his voice began to choke and his eyes became glossy with tears, "I was born just like him! I was pure once! You think it was my decision to get into this trade? My mother said my skin was whiter than alabaster, just like my father's. It wasn't until I was in the slave trade that I began to notice my skin getting dark, tainted. It's convenient for him to judge, huh? I bet he was pampered as a child. Mommy and daddy gave him everything he wanted and he never knew of any danger or injustice. And when he's done with me, which he will be when he finds this little runaway elf, he'll drop me off in the nearest Egyptian village, completely convinced he did the right thing." Ialu panted, tears running down his face, "If he wants to bed me, then he can have me." He coughed, nearly sobbing, shaking his head as he stood up, staring at the tent flap and waiting for Eladrian to come back. he couldn't give the elf the pleasure of chasing after him.

Amun sighed. "I cannot say what he is thinking, Ialu, didn't he say that you may brake your contract with him any time you wish? How would you like to stay with me?" The bearded trader smiled kindly down at the former slave, however there was strange glint behind his eyes. Amun had sold a slave before, and it had brought him twice as much profit then the caravan's weres combined. The desire was strong in him to see if he could do it again.
"Think about it, I will await your answer in the morning."

It was getting very cold now. Eladrian shivered and pulled away from the mare, It was getting very late, Amun would want to set out early. and they would be...
No...What made him think.... The elf looked towards the caravan, his mind made up.

When he slipped into the tent, it was dark, they had turned off the lamps and gone to sleep. Eladrian remembered the set up and stalked towards his cot. There beside it on another cot was the sill form of Ialu, He reached out a hand to wake him. to apologize then hesitated and sighed. He walked around it and slipped into the warm blankets laying down, his back to the former slave.
His pride forbade him to say anything, but a much stronger voice, his sense of fairness and chivalry urged him to speak up. After tossing and turning for a few moments, Eladrian turned in the covers to Ialu.
"Ialu...." He whispered, sure that the other was close enough to hear just his voice. "....I am sorry."

Ialu had remained ambiguous towards Amun. He knew the trader was just humoring him. Everyone wanted something, and Amun could make quite the profit off of him. Ialu reigned in his tongue for the rest of the night, having been too embarrassed to change in case Amun saw him.
He had gone to bed early, trying to escape from conversation, and it had taken far too long to fall asleep, though he pretended sleep just as easily to stave off questions. Having only been dozing when Eladrian walked in, he stirred, realized who it was, and feigned sleep again.
But hen Eladrian spoke, Ialu was too surprised to keep up the ruse. He turned to face Eladrian, eyes open and staring at him. He opened his mouth to speak, but then silenced himself, realizing he didn't know what to say. He swallowed hard, then whispered back, "Me too... You've saved my life, I had no right to blow up over something so small..."

"It is....no small matter." Eladrian whispered. "To call a Knight of my age 'pure' is something of an embarrassment in my race. I should have exercised better judgment and reined in my pride."
The elf lend closer to better let his words be heard. "It is not necessary for you to stay with me. but I would like you to...not only for your protection but for....company." He felt himself blushing in the darkness. "You remind me of my mentor, his words could sometimes sting me deeply as well...In fact, It was his stories of the south that enamored me if traveling here one day, he would often tell me how different it was here, the desert, the stars and the wind."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 26, 2010 4:22 pm

Ialu watched Eladrian's face, confusion setting in on his own. He didn't know much about how normal Egyptians felt towards purity, but having always been looked down upon, he suspected that they elevated purity, and that impurity was cause for shame. He whispered, "I'm jealous of you." He smiled sadly, "You might wish to shed your purity, but I've been sneered at most of my life for what I do, and I-..." He sighed, "I've never really enjoyed it. It's like a chore. But you-... You're optimistic and hopeful and you'll enjoy every second of it when you bed a woman. I don't think I'll ever enjoy it, not like that..." He sighed, realizing he had rambled on. He paused, then whispered, "Is this land the way you pictured it? I hope it hasn't disappointed you..."

Eladrian listened politely, his cheeks coloring slighlty.
"I won't say that I'm dissappointed, my first impression of your land was limited to me...but from I have seen of the market place in that city...I would have loved to explore it more."
The elf's green eyes where glittering. "And the food, it's unlike anything they make up north, so spicy!"
"Would you please keep it down?" Amun complained, then truned over and resumed his rumbling snores.
Eladrian leand in even closer whispering lowly so that he won't distrub his host again. "Tell me, does an paraidise of flowers exist fearther south? My mentor offten mentioned to me that I should see the hanging gardens of the city of Odesa...He said that the men and women there have skin the color of the darkest night."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 26, 2010 7:54 pm

Ialu blushed in the darkness, whispering quietly and leaning in a bit more, "I have not done any travelling on my own, but I have been there with some of my mistresses. It is the most beautiful land to touch the Nile... The people, the Nubians... My mother was one. Her skin was almost as black as onyx. She was so beautiful. She always braided her hair, but kept my hair in accordance with the children of Kemet..."
He trailed off, remembering. He met Eladrian's eyes once again, his whisper barely audible, "I, uh... I lied. I don't think it will heal on its own, Eladrian... Please know I wouldn't ask this if there was any other way, but I don't know what else to do, and the pain just gets worse..." His eyes had a look of desperation gleaming in the darkness.

Eladrian stared at him in the darkness. He shook his head. "Aright, I'll heal it." he sat up and reached for his pack, he quickly found what he was looking for and placed his mouth right by Ialu's ear. to whisper. "Do you want it taken out? It will heal better if it is..."

Ialu began bracing himself, his heart pounding. He knew this would be painful, and embarrassing, and the thought of it made his adrenaline run. He shivered and nodded, eyes wide with near-terror. He whispered, "Y-yes... It's a complete ring... The magic has made it tighten..." He knew the metal cutters would be dangerously close to hurting him, but he also knew that nothing short of high magic would make that ring loosen. He slid his hands beneath the blanket, undoing his shenti, whispering, "A lantern? P-please? Um... Can we do this here or should we go outside?"

"We should do it outside, behind the tents. Go, I'll bring the cutter and a lamp..."

A few moments later, Eladrian was on his knees behind the tents, looking at the crotch of his new friend. "Uhm...L-Lift it please..." He began, meaning the scant covering Ialu wore.
The lamp just gave enough illumination to see by, the elf bit his lower lip nervously. He knew what he had to do, and what effect that the cream would have on his patient, but there wasn't anything for it. Would this count as gaining some experience? he wondered. Then focused on what he had to do, he would cut the ring off at two points, and while he rubbed the cream in...(he tried not to think too much on that)...he would work it lose and pull it free.

*Later*

Feeling the finger lingering on his lips and the thrill that shot through him, Ialu lifted his eyes to Eladrian. The act was so gentle, so tender that Ialu felt his heart pound in his chest. He met those green eyes in the soft lantern light and smiled, nodding, "Thank you, Eladrian..." He stood, rewrapping his shenti without difficulty. He felt something he hadn't felt before.
This was freedom. He looked to Eladrian, suddenly pulling him into a tight hug. He didn't have words to express his gratitude, not the amount of it, and he had thanks Eladrian enough. So he let the contact speak for him.
When he finally pulled away, the soft blush was on his cheeks again, "Goodnight." He left Eladrian to extinguish the lantern as he took shakey steps back to the tent's opening.

Joy bubbled up under his skin. There was no words for him to describe it, it was simply joy, and relief. He smiled as he watched him go back into the tent.

The next morning found them both dressed in head to toe clothing of light airy fabric.
Eladrian wore an ivory colored clothing that had a hood and cowl so that he could hide his face. An elaborately embroidered sash at his waist was the only color. Amun had explained to him that it was customary for Lords to wear such clothing when traveling. If the lord hid his face and let his servernt speak for him it would not be suspect.
Eladrian grinned, looking at the camel he had brought, the tent was small. But he wanted to pack light, Amun even included some firestones and a pot and a pan for food.
"Ialu! come on out, Surely you won't drown in all that fabric?" he teased.
