Hi, I'm Alda, you can call me ljosberinn, or ljos for short :] I'm a huuuuge language fanatic!
As for now, I'm fluent in English and Icelandic (native), alright in German, Italian, Scandinavian (mostly know Danish and Icelandic but could probably make myself understood) and French, have learned some basics in Latin and took the first course in Japanese last semester, want to continue that. (Can't really 'chat' in Japanese though sweatdrop ) I also took a beginner's course in Icelandic sign language, that's really interesting. Would love to learn some more of that as well.
I'd love to learn all the languages there are! But, uh, since that's a bit unrealistic for a goal, I'll start by expanding my knowledge of the ones I do know already. The ones I want to take up next include: Spanish/Portuguese, Polish (or some other Slavic language), one of the less-known languages of Britain (Gaelic or Welsh or something), Hindu, Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphs and Swedish.
Other interests include literature, photography, symbology, all kinds of arts, people, sociology, philosophy, mythology and religions.
It'd be awesome if someone took the time and started chatting in any of the languages I'm decent in, I love to practice and even though you're not fluent, we can at least help each other out, right? 4laugh

I'm taking a Introduction to Beginner's German Part II (second semester of a year-long course) in college. I study Japanese off and on as a hobby, basically teaching myself with books and, when I can find them, audio clips. Anime helps a little too, but only with colloquial speech and some of the writing, like on signs.
I took four straight years (two of them Honors) of Spanish in high school, but I never really learned much vocabulary, especially verbs, so I never really got close to being fluent. I can still read it most of the time, but I can rarely manage to say something intelligent off the top of my head.
I'm also working on a constructed language (for those that don't know, that's an artificial/made-up language) called Anzer Pex. (PM me or something if you're interested).
