adabyron Hawk_McKrakken There are ways to put in German characters without the German keyboard, but I'll go over it later... being hounded to eat dinner at the moment. sweatdrop This site explains how to do it in Windows. If you have a Mac, you want this site. Or a simplified little list so you don't have to skitter around that page just to find one character: Ä - alt + 142 ä - alt + 132 Ö - alt + 153 ö - alt + 148 Ü - alt + 154 ü - alt + 129 ß - alt + 225 (assuming you have Windows, the Mac way just seems... ridiculous xd )

Hawk_McKrakken (assuming you have Windows, the Mac way just seems... ridiculous xd ) Yeah, pressing alt and a random set of 4 numbers that you have to memorize is way less ridiculous than the Mac way. option + u (for umlaut) -> ¨ option + u, a -> ä option + u, o -> ö Oh, actually... that makes sense.... surprised

I know a few German bands, but Rammstein is the one I know best! ^^ I've translated roughly 17 of their songs, and I must say that if the half the people who listen to Rammstein would stop listening if they knew what they were singing about. XD

Oh, actually... was that sarcasm...? surprised I apologize, then... that the 95% of computer-users who prefer Windows at least know how to memorize a given set of numbers. The last time I checked, serial memorization wasn't exactly rocket science, was it? ichbineinengel I know a few German bands, but Rammstein is the one I know best! ^^ I've translated roughly 17 of their songs, and I must say that if the half the people who listen to Rammstein would stop listening if they knew what they were singing about. XD I know what you're saying there. eek I mean... Rein Raus... good God... to think that when I first started learning German, I had no idea what it all meant. And if you've seen the music video for Mann Gegen Mann... well actually, you, being female, just might like it. xp But to me 'twas horrifying! gonk ...But I still listen to the song!

Most people who use Windows have never used anything else, so to say they prefer it is a stretch at best. I don't care if you hate Macs, but don't lie about them. Anyway, I like Hannes Wader and Nena. razz

adabyron I don't care if you hate Macs, but don't lie about them. How can that be a lie? It was an honest opinion - everything about Macs is ridiculous to me, from the damned option key to the fact that the mice only have one clicker. Chikiya I don't like Rammstein much, but I have a friend who likes them and he's always asking me to translate the songs for him Just send him to http://herzeleid.com/en/lyrics Has all the lyrics and translations. 3nodding
