Nichts gescheht... nichts.

Nichts.. "nothing?" I think that's how one says nothing...

Niemand sagt irgendetwas.

I suppose it is, but even with all I have to do (work and college) I still find time to do things. confused Maybe I'm just better at managing my time than others.

Hah! I know what you mean. I have a job, I'm about to start a second one, and I'll be starting my junior year in high school. I have to work enough to pay for gas and insurance for my car, a $3000 trip to Germany next summer, and money for Nekocon. XP That's a lot of work, but I still find time to have fun with friends (when it works for both of us...like last night... Yay girls! XD) and I spend time on gaia, still. I suppose some people really ARE better at time management.

I once wrote Ich verpasse dich as my msn status when I actually meant Ich vermisse dich sweatdrop
My German friend corrected me, if not I wouldn't know I'm embarassing myself lol
I would love to learn German because I think it sounds military-ish, and I like that domokun

That's a strange reason for learning German.

Here's what I know...

Wie heißt ihr? (What are your names?)
Ich heißt ____. (My name is ____.)
Wie alt bißt ihr? (What is your age?) (I may have spelled some of that wrong...)
Guten morgen. (Good morning.)
Guten abend. (Good evening.)
Guten tag. (Good day.)
Herzlich willkommen. (Welcome)
Welcher name, bitte? (What name, please?)

I forgot the age answer... sweatdrop

And, well, I'm learning German at school, and I feel it'd be nice if I got some outside help -- so if anyone wants to help me learn German, feel free to post saying so. ^_^

EDIT: *just got the German keyboard translation stuffy stuff* Z key is now Y key, and the Y key is now the Z key... CONFUSING!

I like how the language sounds stern when spoken. sweatdrop

I know what you mean. But along with its stern sound, it can also have a very gentle sound when spoken in the right tone... and by the right people. mrgreen

There are ways to put in German characters without the German keyboard, but I'll go over it later... being hounded to eat dinner at the moment. sweatdrop

This site explains how to do it in Windows. If you have a Mac, you want this site.

Yeah, I was going to say, when you hear two German people have a proper conversation, it doesn't really sound stern at all. It just sounds like someone in English talking, using different words. If that makes sense. sweatdrop

Also, with the Umlauts, there's a simpler way to put them in if you're useing Word, and that is 'Ctrl + Shift + :' and if you want a capital, then press the letter you want without releasing the buttons. If you don't want lower case, you have to release the 'Crtl + Shift + :' buttons first.
