Rainpaw
i could tell we were close to the oak and with stormclaw a mouse tail ahead i pulled up taking him by surprise and sprinted ahead getting to the oak a second before he did
Stormclaw
as Rainpaw pulled ahead of me in a burst of speed i decided i should do the same and got to the tree a second after her we circled back and i laughed as Rainpaw almost slipped on leaves letting me pull to her side
i could feel we were already back to camp and we both surged ahead almost running over firefang again along with willowstar and the others. we skidded to a halt spraying dust over the fresh kill pile and collapsed laughing

as we sat there laughing i reviewed the race and between fits of giggles i managed to spurt out
i think it was a tie before i went back to laughing

Willowstar giggled and bumped into her mate playfully "Yes it is >" hse meowed nad licked his ear "You cant be mad they are just over. excited dont you remember become an apprentice then a warrior?" she asked

Moonkit
Moonkit happily. "That's great!" He mewed. "But don't forget, the rest of us are going to be apprentices in less than a moon. And I'm pretty sure I'll be a warrior not long after that since Willowstar's going to see my awesome warrior skills." He joked. Icekit mrrowed in laughter. "Well I'M pretty sure Nightkit and I are going to whoop ya like freshkill during battle training." She purred and batted at him playfully. Moonkit tackled her to the groud until she squealed for mercy. He sat back up and licked his chest fur. "So,"
he mewed. "Who's going to be your mentor Nightkit?" Moonkit asked and looked at some of the warriors around camp.

She she cat emerged from her den and approached willowstar, "Willowstar, i wish to make my journey to moonpool tonight." she mewed to her leader "i wanted to let you know."

Whitekit
Whitekit perked her ears. The Moonpool! If she went. . .she could ask Starclan for reassurance of her ambitions! Whitekit didn't hesitate and rushed to Willowstar's den, passing Moonkit, Icekit, and Nightkit. Icekit looked as she was about to say something. "No time to talk! See you later!" Whitekit promised and hurried on light paws to Willowstar's den. "Dawnfrost." Whitekit mewed, out of breath as she saw the medicine cat. "I. . .uh. . .heard you were going to the Moonpool. And I was wondering if you could take me along." she mewed quickly. Her clanmates weren't aware of her sensitive hearing. "Please?" She added and gave Willowstar and Dawnfrost her best pleading look. "I'm sure Tigerflower won't mind."
Icekit
Icekit looked on as Whitekit ran by without telling them where she was going. "Geez," she mewed. "You'd think she was trying to fly at that speed." she purred at the thought of her denmate gliding through the air.

The she cat was starlted by whitekits sudden entrance. and listened to her reason for barging in. "Whitekit you are only a kit and kits are not supposed to leave camp, you know that" she looked admiringly at the young warrior. "but the last say isn't mine." she gazed over at the clan leader waiting for her decision.

Whitekit looked at Willowstar. "Please? Even if I'm still a kit, I'd have Dawnfrost with me. And plus, I'm only a moon away from being an apprentice." She looked pleadingly at her leader. She had to go to the Moonpool. She just HAD to talk to her Starclan! And besides, it would be great experience when she became leader. She thought to herself. Whitekit mentally scolded herself. Not when. She told herself. If.

after we regained our breath i climbed to my paws and pricked my ears toward willowstar's dawnfrost's and whitekit's conversation.
hmm it sounds like whitekit wants to go to the moonpool with dawnfrost i mewed
i then saw stormclaw look at the sun which was slowly moving past sunhigh and then look at the barren freshkill pile.
should we hunt he mewed
i mean since we've got our breath back and caused enough trouble we could at least help the clan
sure i replied
and we padded back out of the camp making sure not to trtead too close to firefang on our way out

how about a challenge? i mewed
sure she answered
one with the most freshkill before dark wins
your on i meowed back
and we were off
pelting through the forest in different directions intent on the sights and sounds of prey

Willowstar looked at Firefang then at Dawnfrost "Whitekit you know you arent suppose to...but If Dawnfrost agrees i guess it would be fine one a condition Do not go and tell the other kits ar apprentices...okay?" she said firmly

Firefang flicked Willowstar's flank with his tail lightly. "You're as soft on kits as I am, and yes, I do remember becoming an apprentice and warrior. Who doesn't?" he mrrowed lovingly to his mate.

Nightkit overheard the exchange between Dawnfrost and Whitekit and also Willowstar's reply. 'I was out of camp more than once. I've even hunted already.' the she-kit thought a she looked up admirely at Willowstar. 'She is a great leader. Maybe I'll get to be deputy if I work hard enough. Serving as her deputy would be an honor. I don't want to be leader though. It's not me. I couldn't handle being leader.'

The brown speckled cat looked at Whitekit of course i'll take you i would never refuse a kit who is interested in the mystery of starclan. she looked at the sky it was a little after sunhigh. She looked at her leader again we will leave shortly after i make some last minute adjustments.

Whitekit nodded. "I promise I won't tell!" she purred. "Thank you!" she mewed. "I'll wait for Dawnfrost by her den." She meowed politely and padded out of the leaders den. Whitekit purred to herself. I'm finally going to meet Starclan! She thought excitedly.
