Chii blushed lightly, looking away shyly out to the window to gaze at the grassy outdoors as they kept moving along.
"Y-You don't need to keep complimenting me, Master... I-I'm just a normal, common girl."
She said softly, honestly starting to feel really weird he was still being disgustingly nice to her. It just didn't feel like him... at all. Besides that fact, she was a very modest girl. Even though people always commented on her looks, she didn't honestly feel like she was that attractive. All that kind of stuff just went over her head. What did beauty even matter, anyway? Inner beauty was far more important, and all she truly cared about in that regard. But everyone in Demitrious' world only seemed to care about the way she looked on the outside. Hopefully her kind ideals and her ideas would outshine the way they kept looking at her.
Besides, Demitrious could have any girl in the world he wanted anyway. Why would he waste time on a mousy girl like me. The expensive clothes are way prettier than I am. Maybe that's what it is... I can admit that all the clothes he has for me make even me feel pretty... I've never had such nice things to wear before.
She ended up dozing off slightly as they stayed in the carriage for eight straight hours, leaning her face up against his shoulder. Chii wasn't used to travelling like this at all, it felt too weird sitting around doing literally nothing. She was used to working twenty-four-seven.
Upon reaching their destination, the bunny girl excitedly looked at the flowers. This place looked like a magical fairy garden! There was so many types of flowers here that she had never even seen or heard of half of them. She had to look at and smell each and every one! Eventually all of the floral aroma got to her, causing her to let out a high pitched, soft sneeze. Her bunny tail wiggled happily behind her as she carefully started making a list of flowers that looked like a collected theme...
Eventually she reached the roses, and her eyes became glued onto the prettiest of the bunch. There were only a few, single blue roses. Transfixed on them, she carefully leaned down to smell them. Her blue eyes sparkled back at them, attracted to the roses that matched them in hue.
"L-Look, Master-! I... I had no idea roses could even be this color... It's amazing! Aren't they gorgeous?" Chii was so distracted by how beautiful and rare these roses were, she had forgotten for a split second why they were even here. The usagi gently touched one of them, admiring the softness of the petals.
"O-Ouch!" She squeaked out as a thorn accidentally pricked her finger. Chii stood back up, holding up her finger as a small droplet of blood started to bloom on the tip of it. People weren't kidding about that phase of a rose having sharp thorns...

"Careful now, you don't want to hurt yoursel-"
He smelled the blood scent that permeated through the air after she pricked herself. He may not have been a vampire, but the blood still smelt good to him. Good thing too since he would have pounced all over the poor thing by now.
"Remember why we are here. After we choose the flowers for the Gala we can take a bouquet of flowers of your choosing home."
He pat her back and took her finger that she pricked. He looked both ways before sticking it into his mouth and sucks the blood.
"There, it's not bleeding as much."

"A-Aa..."
Chii blushed harshly as he lifted her finger and sucked the tip of it, to get rid of the blood. Umn... Umn... what was he doing that for-!? Someone might see and that would just be... weird-! She looked away timidly, trying not to blush worse.
"Th-Thank... you..." She said softly, hiding her arms and hands behind her back, still looking away and pretending to be focused on flowers again. "I-I think a mix of these four would look the best... but... I-I don't know what your preferences are..." The chimera picked up the four she had in mind and held them up to show Demitrious how they would look together.
"Wh-What do you think, Master?"

He pretended to look at the flowers that she chose.
"Those look good You have a good eye for flowers. I see a pretty flower already aside from the ones that you chose."
He pointed to Chii's nose and poked it.
"You are a beautiful blooming flower."
He kissed her forehead and pat her head.
"You are doing great, Chii."

She couldn't help but smile. Chii told herself that she would only be setting herself up for failure if she had faith in this new behavior from Demitrious. But it had lasted so long that she got suckered into it anyway. It had nearly been two weeks now, since he started being nice to her. Someone like Zuni would have seen right through his coy act... but she herself was naive, and wanted to believe in the best of people. It was how she had kept forgiving her parents over and over through out her entire life of them treating her like complete and utter garbage. She always told herself things to convince herself to love them despite their abusive flaws. And so naturally, the same thing applied here. She had faith Demitrious really had changed. No one would keep an act up this long, right?
The cluelessly cute girl sat at the windowsill, looking outside down at the garden from the prince's room. Chii sang softly to herself after a while, moving on to sweeping the room instead of sitting mindlessly thinking to herself.
I still feel the same way... even if I was suddenly a free woman... I have no where to go but the streets... I know I can't protect myself, either... I can't even tell when people are tricking me... I would just end up back with mom and dad... and they would just treat me like a slave anyway. Here, I'm a slave... but I have it really good compared to any of the others do... Chii bit her lip slightly, feeling a pang of guilt that she had it so well compared to all of the other servants here. I don't like being treated better than everyone else... but I'm very grateful that I don't have to live like that, either... like the way my parents treated me... I don't want to go back to that life ever again...
Her neko tail swished behind her as she continued to sweep the floor up. It doesn't make any sense... I'm treated far better here than I ever was treated as a free person... I have a better life as a slave than I ever did free as a bird. She sighed softly... She knew she was screwed out in the real world. She was too naive. She had no way to defend herself. No one would protect her out there. It was a free for all out on the streets... She didn't know how to stick up for herself either. Chii was aware that she was stupid and naive, but she also couldn't seem to figure out how to NOT be that way. Like Zuni... Zuni always seemed to know what was going on, and had no problem putting her foot down and demanding some respect. Of course it never worked out for Zuni, either... but Chii was stuck being dumb and couldn't tell what people's true intentions were.
I'm treated well here... I get food when ever I want... I have a roof over my head... I have really nice clothes... I can't take all of that for granted... Being back on the street working myself into the ground just for scraps, and feeding my parent's addictions will just end up with me back as a slave-wife. To someone I don't know. Someone who could be worse than Demitrious... and if he is really changed, I could be really happy, here, too... I never thought of him the way he sees me... but maybe I could learn to... with time... He doesn't seem to be evil like I thought at first..... And people seem to actually like having me around here...
It's official, then... I want to stay here. There isn't any other choice. I'm grateful for what I have, I want to keep it...
Chii exhaled, moving on to cleaning up the kitchenette area. It was a bit overwhelming this much had changed in such a short time... Demitrious wasn't even the same person anymore... and she couldn't help but wonder...
What changed him?
It couldn't have been... me... could it...?

After having spent time with Chii planning the Gala, the day before the Gala has arrived. The prince was supervising all the servants working on putting everything up and making sure it met his expectations on how well it should look.
“You did it Chii, this is the fruits of your labor and planning. This shall be a splendid dance that you perfected. This is your crowning achievement. You did well. Let’s hope it is a success, my love.”
He took her hand and gave it a kiss.
“You are more beautiful than the flowers on this vine, and all the flowers in this castle combined.”

The neko smiled warmly as Zuni and Ketki made their way into the royal closet. She was glad that some of the slaves got to go as guests, so long as their masters or mistresses also attended and kept tabs on them. It was going to be really nice, and hopefully the girls could enjoy themselves for a little while. God knew they needed it, having Josef for an owner.
"H-Hello Ketki, Zuni." She was also glad that Demitrious allowed Josef to borrow a dress for each of them. Chii didn't know a lot about fashion or how to be girly, but it would be really fun to figure it out with them. She had never really had one friend before, let alone two.
"Help yourself!" She started fanning through several dresses out of the hundreds in the closet. Gosh who needed this many pieces of clothing... She knew Zuni would need help, so she pulled some off the rack to show Ketki.
"What do you think of this one, for Zu-chan?" Chii asked, and showed a couple of other dresses. "Or maybe this?"
She pulled out a gold one, a dark blue one, and lastly a blush pink one. Her cat tail wiggled behind her excitedly, wondering what kind of dress they would want. There was more dresses here than she had seen in her entire life, and they were all top quality. Chii wasn't exactly a girly girl, but it was impossible to not feel gorgeous in clothes like these!
"Just give me the ugliest, most unattractice dress possible. Make sure it covers a lot of skin please." The blind bat requested, still blindfolded and unable to tell which dress would look the most terrible. She did NOT want to go to this thing, let alone look 'pretty'. The idea of wearing a sparkling ballgown and walking out in a dance floor made her want to vomit.

Nothing bad had really happened lately, so that was good. Well, nothing out of the ordinary besides being around Josef, it was nice having a break. Ketki had decided she would AT LEAST try to enjoy herself, even if these weren't the circumstances she wanted to be in. Ketki simply stared at all the dresses, had all of these even been worn before? Probably not, there might've been hundreds just hung up, waiting to be used.
Ketki looked at all the dresses Chii had shown her for Zuni, they were all very pretty. Chii seemed super excited, and really happy. It was nice to see her like this. Ketki really liked the pink dress for Zuni, but Zuni might murder her if they made her wear a pink, floofy dress. The dark blue ones were very pretty to, so maybe she could take part of Zuni's request and choose one of them that covered most of her skin?
" The pink one is very beautiful, but I don't think Zuni'll approve. " Ketki smiled, looking over at Zuni. " I think the first blue one and the third dark blue one would be pretty, and meet most of her standards. "
Ketki was actually wondering if any of the dresses here would fit her, probably not with her scrawny little body. Most of the dresses here seemed to be made for women, not girls. Ketki would probably just stay on the sidelines anyways, she had no clue how to dance at all, and didn't exactly want to.... Not with all the creeps that might hang around...
Ketki wanted to take this time and maybe bond with Chii a bit more, it sounded silly, but she almost viewed Chii as a mother, and Zuni too. Even if it was pretty childish, they were kinda all she had. She'd drop dead if she ever thought of Josef as a father figure of some sort...
" Zuni? I know you don't want to look pretty, but is there some color you think would at least please you a bit? " She asked, looking around at more dresses.
" Oh, and Chii, what dress are you planning on wearing? "

As the girls were conversing, he decided to enter the closet too, since there was changing rooms deeper within this walk in closet, he viewed it wouldn’t be an issue if he came in.
“Oh hello~ lovely ladies.”
He walked up to Chii and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“Are you guys excited for the Gala tomorrow? It’s supposed to be one of the best ever. I also have a HUGE announcement to make at the Gala too.”
The prince took Chii’s free hand after she set the dress down or gave it to Zuni and gave it a kiss.
“I’m excited for this as I could possibly be! I need this to work for it will be my dear Chii’s finest achievement within the Royal house...”
Demitrious walked over to the black dress that Chii pulled out.
“Ah, I think this one would be the best for Zu-chan. Don’t you agree Chii? Ketki?”

  "I would be pleased if it was ugly as sin." She said, "Like baby-puke green. Something dreadful." She of course knew she wasn't about to get what she wanted, but it was still worth trying.
Zuni's ear twitched slightly, hearing Demitrious come in and kiss Chii twice. Waaait... what exactly had happened the last two weeks? He was being all... touchy feely. And nice sounding. And FAKE sounding.
"Pft." She snorted softly, crossing her arms. "Nice change in attitude, Demi-chan. Finally pull the stick out of your a**?"
Chii blushed lightly, her tail wiggling excitedly as she pecked his cheek in return. "Y-Yeah, something dark like the blue, or that black one... That's more Zu-chan's style." The neko was completely oblivious to Zuni's commentary, as she moved to some other dresses.
"U-Umn... I actually don't know what I'm wearing, Master said he was going to pick it... Have you decided yet?" Chii looked over to Demitrious, unsure, before looking back to the purple haired cat. "And I have permission to tailor one of these dresses to fit you, Ke-chan!" She smiled softly, pulling out a few more dresses. "See one you fancy?"

Okay, Demitrious was acting...... Weird... Was he acting... kind..? She was seriously confused, was it fake? Did he hit his head too hard when he fell from that tower? Must be...
" Aw, come one Zuni, don't be like that.. " Ketki whined slightly. She just wanted this to be the one night they could actually enjoy themselves. Ketki's face lit up. She could tailor one to fit her? She started looking around at the dresses in the racks, studying each one. This was great!! She pulled out various dresses, and seemed completely lost in deciding what one she wanted.
" I really like this one! Or this one!! Or possibly this other one? "
She now had a stack of dresses, and stared at it, before smiling awkwardly. " I'll start putting these back now... " She smiled, and started hanging them back up one by one. She either wanted one of those three, but there were so many other pretty dresses she wanted to wear. Oh what she'd give to just play dress up in here for one day...

He walked over to Ketki and pat her head.
"Is this your first time in a Gala! That's so amazing for a girl your age! You are doing VERY well setting up for the Gala. All the adults will think you are Adorable! There will be tons of sweets for a little girl like you! So much candy. We also have a play area for all the children slaves you can play with. It will be just like you were in school! Where you guys can count to three and sing your ABC's. Oh wait did they teach that in school? I don't know."
His voice full of mocking, as if he was talking to a baby.
"Who's a big girl? You are! You're a big girl!"
He very lightly, playfully tugged on her cheek.

The corner of Ketki's mouth twitched. She'd been wearing rags all her life, there was NO WAY IN HELL she would go back to wearing those. She stepped back away from him, she hated when he touched her cheeks.. AT ALL...
She bit her tongue, before she smiled up at him. Could she be the next person to push him off a tower ledge?
" Yes, I'm very grateful for this opportunity, all the pretty dresses, all the sweets.. I bet most of the kids don't even know how to count or their ABC's, I'd be very grateful to teach them something decent besides cruel masters and being abused. " She smiled.
" Maybe I'd enjoy the gala more if you would stop treating me like a seven year old, but you just love to be cruel to me, right? "
God, did he have to ruin everything...? Her one chance to possibly have some fun, all to be squashed by this idiot.. this game was getting old, and quite frankly, very annoying. Maybe she should just start expecting th worst out of things so she wont be disappointed..
Well, at least she got sweets out of it at least...

She giggled lightly as Ketki started to fangirl over all of the dresses. It looked like her and Chii felt the exact same way: like a kid in a candy store!
Chii blinked as Demitrious started to relentlessly tease Ketki. Uhmn.... wait... really? Some of the old Demitrious crawled back out to play... it was kind of weird to see him act like a brat suddenly, after he had been so great the last three weeks. He really disliked the neko that much-?
"U-Umn, Master... we... we want to make a really good impression on the nobles... so shouldn't we make sure Ketki looks her absolute best? You already said we could alter one for her..."
A chill ran down her spine as the purple haired girl started to sass Demitrious back. OH GOD PLEASE NOT LIKE THAT DAY IN THE CARRIAGE AGAIN! The chimera squeaked loudly, scurrying in between the two of them to make sure neither one tried to bite or strike each other.
"U-Umn Master pl-please show me my dress so we can decide on the other two, a-and get the alterations done? W-We really don't have much time to prepare! And we have to impress them... e-even the other servants that are going need to look... respectable? Pl-Please?"

The Prince's eye twitched as Ketki sassed him back.
"Why you..."

"We are not cruel. We just have disagreements with how other slaves should be raised. And yes, I was merely teasing Ketki by showing her this dress. It was a friendly joke."
He let out a VERY FORCED SMILE.
"Here is your dress Chii. It just came in today. "
He pulled out the dress from an overly decorated box.
