Layla wears a confused look on her face. Gods, it's like I murdered a small child or something... She starts petting Xiao's hair gently with one hand, and slowly stroking her tail with the other.

12:30 PM Everyone:After you have all had your fill, you proceed to the Challenge itself. Inside the castle, you find a sign: To prepare you for the Labyrinth, you have been tasked with navigating the castle's dark halls. When you reach the center, your next task will be presented to you. The interior is indeed VERY dark. You are currently in the entrance hall of the castle. There are hallways to your left, right, and front. To your left, there is a staircase going up. To your right, there is a staircase going down. There is a suit of armor next to each stair case and a small potted plant next to each hallway. Other than this and the sign, the entrance hall is empty.

"Xiao. Maybe we should take lead on this one. Our hearing is better so we'll be able to pick up on the noise differrences between long hallways and dead ends and we can see better. Even if we have light, it's better than wandering around blindly."

"Oh, my vision's quite well adjusted for this kind of thing. Figure I should take advantage of the dark since travelling in the light is harsh on my eyes." I say, scanning the immediate area.

There is nothing of interest in the area, but that's to be expected so that you have no idea where to start. Nyx & Sand-Claw:"She does bring up a good point, Nyx," Xiao replies. Layla checks to see if she was given some kind of map making supplies in the beginner's pack. "Or we could do the smart thing and light a torch." She says simply.

I quickly cast a couple minor spells, creating a floating ball of magical light from one hand and a small flame in the other. "I could help with that as well if anyone brought torches." I say jovially.

"Layla, do your light weapons produce actual light?" Willow asked as she stared into the darkness, missing her shadow power more then usual.
