So many voices, one would probably go insane from listening to them all. Kaylen did not though. She had gotten used to the constant buzzing of thoughts in her mind, thoughts that weren't her own. She liked hearing all of those thoughts though. She enjoyed knowing that she was able to get inside peoples minds and find out how they really were. She was able to know their deepest secrets, and darkest thoughts. Sometimes she could use them to her advantage as well. That wasn't something she normally did though. Lately she had developed her power further. She was able to manipulate thoughts now. If needed she could make people see something that she wanted them to. Or, make them think how she wanted them to think. It was difficult and sometimes failed but she was getting better with it.
Right now she was walking, looking for a house. It was not an ordinary house though. It was a house where people who were different went to live in peace and secrecy. She was simply looking for the house so she could see if it was as good as that foolish man had told her. She would never be able to completely stay at the house though. She doubted that they would even let her anyway. You see, she just so happened to work the very man that wanted all of the people who were abnormal dead, including her. He didn't know that she was special though and she planned to keep it that way. She was getting closer and closer to enemy and learning more and more each day. That was the reason she even accepted the job offer, was so she could get close to Alyce and take him down when the time was right.
While walking there were people that looked at her. She didn't notice them though only their thoughts she payed attention to. She did stick out in a crowd though it was not because she was odd or anything. It was because she was considered pretty good looking, though she would disagree with that. That was why she never bothered returning the glances she was getting. She already could hear what the people were thinking so why look? Besides she was looking for more interesting thoughts. Thoughts that would tell her where she needed to go. Soon enough as she was passing a house she got those thoughts. Her pace slowed until she had stopped and her head turned to look at the house. Her face held an unreadable expression but her dark gray eyes were intense. She was felt curiosity build in her as she looked at the home. Inside she had come across a few thoughts of people who were not average. She had found the home she was looking for. Now she just had to figure out what she would do now.

For a moment his smile matched her's, a sense of malice flooding the room for a second before fading away into emptiness. He waited a moment before taking a seat across from Wulfe, reclining into the chair so as to seem relaxed and nonchalant. "A boarding house? No, that wouldn't be necessary. I am quite... proficient when it comes to caring for myself. Ah, how to put this...." He looked perplexed for a moment before snapping his fingers, grinning smugly to himself. "Well then, I suppose I should begin at the beginning. As you may or may not be aware, there is unrest in the streets. People are being prejudiced against unfairly, and no one is willing to stand up for these unfortunate individuals. That is where I come in."
He couldn't help but smile at her as he paused for dramatic effect. She knew as well as he did why he was here. He could sense it. But he continued subtly, well, not so much subtly as vaguely really. "I am... well, I am not yet prejudiced against, but let's say I have a passing interest in these people's plight. My goal is to find these people before the.... others, so that I might offer my assistance to them. However, finding them has proven to be rather difficult, and to add to this conundrum I do not know what sort of assistance I am even capable of providing such people." His smile weakened slightly as he thought to himself, for a split second letting his guard down before hiding himself behind a smile once more. The truth of the matter was that he didn't have a great deal of confidence in his abilities when it came to dealing with crucial situations. For the billionth time he wished he had been given a more impressive power, like telekinesis or elemental manipulation.
But now was not the time for such thoughts. "To be blunt, I have come here on a hunch, that I might be able to further my cause here. However, if I am mistaken than I shall leave you immediately and bother you no more." He fell silent at this. Anyone with half a functioning brain should be able to understand what he had meant, but in the off chance that this place was a trap or bugged in some way it was vague enough for him to get off the hook. But really, he didn't much care if the place was a trap or not. He was tired of hiding, of living in a constant state of fear. If this didn't work out then he didn't know what he would do. Something to worry about if it came up he supposed.

Sky's watching... Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo. "Shadows... why is there so many...?" - John thought as he proceeded on through the alleys and sideways, trying not to look other people in the eyes. His sight was getting worse lately, sometimes turning completely black for a couple whiles before returning to normal. He was afraid. Afraid that beyond that corner there might be someone just waiting to hold him and take him away somewhere. That fear made him stand out in the crowd... not only that, however. There weren't many people to wear a wide brimmed hat and a long coat, not carry a mask and scarf around his face and neck... all in a dark or black tone. It drew some glances towards him... it made him feel uneasy to hear people whisper something behind his back or laugh. "Where is that house?... how far yet?..." - his thoughts made him lose proper coordination at times, making him run into random people what increased his already high anxiety.
In the distance, a single shape before an old building. It was unclear to him who it was... hopefully no one sent to find him. Oddly enough, there was little to fear in this neighbourhood... not as many government pawns standing all around. Was this a sign? A sign that he was close? "Hopefully..." - he thought as he stepped on the road slowly, then quickly turned back noticing an approaching vehicle. Shouldn't it be for the noise it made, he'd be laying there already... unconscious... or worse. More stares... more questions "Are you all right?" - he heard in the back of his head. Ringing annoyingly as he raised his hands up and tried to recover a straight standing posture.
- "Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about me..." - he said quickly and silently, making it hard to make up different words for those standing around. He did not mind though... he had other goals... other things worrying him.
Moving on more cautiously, shaking off of the heavy daze he got himself into, he tipped the hat slightly over his eyes and made sure the mask covered his face properly. With his hair blown around his head, he slowly approached the building, keeping an eye on the mysterious shape standing before it. "Are they... really... I wonder..." - parts of sentences appeared in his mind for a while, then vanished. He wouldn't come too close... just enough to be able to see what the other is doing. Knowing little more than the gender and roughly the looks of the character standing ahead, he wouldn't want to risk a courageous approach just yet. He wasn't sure if he'd be welcomed inside even... everyone around looks human... except for him... Namárië

Leo watched him a while longer. It was true, in some aspect games were predictable enough that one didn't have to worry about what language they were in. He smiled as he watched the charachter on the screen move around, it was rather delightful. He looked breifly at the metal sphere in his hand. It began moving again, not melting, it seemed to shape itself like a living thing. It turned into a small figure, similar to the charachter in the game. He knew better then to distract Zap though, or the little charachter in the game would wind up dead and that would be no fun for Zap, nor for Leo who was watching a bit as well.
Leo let the charachter in his hand move around a bit, mimicing the movements of the one in the game. He heard Wulfe and the guest's footsteps upstairs, they were moving away from the front door. He was still curious about the guest. Mostly he was wondering what his power could be, then of course, he could be a regular guest and not have powers...

The man spoke as if he were a kindred spirit, but so had others. This was the trickiest part of seeing new people--it would be much easier if Storm could just read the minds of her boarders. Then again...
"Close your eyes," the woman said suddenly, getting an idea. What she was about to do was something she'd only attempted once before, and that time it had worked out. Tucking a strand of chocolate hair behind a pierced ear, Storm stood from her sitting position and walked slowly around the sofa to stand behind her guest. Her bare feet made no sound against the hardwood floor, but with each step, the beads in her hair clicked and rattled together, and the sound of her skirt brushing against the material of the sofa's upholstery was clearly audible. She smiled a shaky smile, slightly nervous about what she was about to do, but she was committed. As quietly as possible, she began stripping in preparation for the shift.
First, her hands and feet changed, the bones in her ankles stretching and the joints multiplying as white fur sprouted from her pale skin and her nails turned to claws, massive and sharp. Her vision changed as her eyes became more catlike, and her vision sharpened when her ears grew outward and upward, sprouting fur like her paws had. Small crunching sounds were audible as the bones in her abdomen shifted and her ribs changed direction with the addition of new vertebrae. Her newly sensitive hearing picked it up well before Retsu could, and she said in a rough voice, "Don't look," afraid that if he saw her mid transformation, they would have to hunt him down.
Parts of her body stayed the same through the shift, most specifically the functions that allowed her to speak, but to most appearances, Storm had transformed into a rather large male bengal tiger. Shifting into the most potentially dangerous form she knew did carry its risks, but only if the person she was showing managed to call the officials before she had a chance to rip them apart. A danger of being transformed like this was that she would lose the human part of her mind. Her body didn't like being mixed from such completely different species, and because of that, one part tried to dominate, usually the part that she most resembled internally. Right now, she was struggling to keep her ability to speak, but when she was younger and more inexperienced with her powers, it had been a struggle just to keep her mental capabilities intact. Storm vaguely remembered a week in medical school that she had spent as a cat before remembering that she was, in fact, human.
With a very human sigh, her mind completely calm, Storm walked back around the sofa the way she had come. This time, she didn't make a sound as her predator's paws padded silently across the floor, her long tail swishing through the air. She stopped beside the man, afraid to put her weight on the sofa, and said, "Okay." Her voice was rough and held a hint of a growl, but there was nothing she could do to change that. Her muscles tensed as she prepared to pounce. "Tell me, Retsu," she continued, "what do you have that you can bring to help rectify the plight of the oppressed people that you speak of."
If this wasn't confirming his suspicions, Storm wasn't sure what would. Hopefully she wouldn't have to attack the man--another boarder would do wonders to stir up the atmosphere in this place...not to mention another soldier would help to swell their proverbial ranks. She watched his reaction with the sharp eyes of a tiger.

Retsu did as he was told, closing his eyes as the woman moved behind him, his body barely tensing as he let go of his defenses. This was dangerous. There was a chance that this meant that she had decided to get rid of him, and that he was letting himself be killed. But he maintained his calm, though he felt his curiosity getting the better of him as he heard Wulfe stripping behind him. He almost wanted to make a joke about the inappropriateness of the situation, but managed to restrain himself. As she began to change however, it wasn't the sounds of her transformation that got to him. It was her inner emotional spectrum.
He would suddenly take in a sharp breath as his entire body tensed, a wave of unfamiliar emotions washing over him. He had thought he had experienced everything, but this was something completely different. All of the emotions and feelings were so much more... distinct, for lack of a better word. There was a sense of incredible fierceness behind it all now, just barely restrained. Letting out his breath shakily, he could only say a single word. "Incredible...."
He fell silent again as she moved to his side. He couldn't hear her moving, but he could sense the focal point of her inner workings shifting position, and while he couldn't place her exact location, he could tell that she had moved off to his side. At her question he hesitated for a moment, almost overwhelmed by this new presence, so familiar, yet unlike anything he had ever felt. Smiling softly, he decided now was the best time to confess to his... heritage.
"I am what is known and hated by the people as a Greater. I am an empath, capable of reading and controlling both my own and other people's emotions." He smiled softly to himself as he turned towards her, though he didn't open his eyes. "As for what I can do to help, I honestly don't know. I just know that I can no longer do nothing." As if to confirm his statement he focused his powers and sent the strongest wave of happy and positive emotions he could muster to Wulfe, letting them flood into her emotional spectrum like a wave. Heh, he had done it now. His life was now in this complete stranger's hands. He was probably going to die now, but he didn't really care that much. At least he had tried, right?

With the flood of emotion that was mangled by her partly animal mind, Storm couldn't stop the happy laugh that emerged from her odd lips. It came out as more of a huffing growl, but she felt the happy, and she couldn't deny that it was sudden and potent, backing up the man's claim. She also found humor in his determination to keep his eyes closed, something that she normally would have admired him for, and through her laugh, she said, "You can open your eyes, Retsu."
Storm was smiling a genuinely happy smile as she sat back on her haunches, no longer feeling the need to pounce on the man. If it would have been appropriate, she would have shifted back, but it was far too soon for that eventual accidental glimpse of her nudeness to occur--it happened at some point with every one she lived with. "Well, you've convinced me," she said after a moment, "and you've come to the right place to find others like you. I must tell you that your empathic abilities are impressive, and could be very useful when we approach Alyce directly. The best I can do is serve as a spy." This last bit she added wryly, feeling the effects of the emotional burst drain away, but it left her happy for another reason, for having found another like her.
"Thank you," she said somberly, "for coming to see me."

With her permission, Retsu opened his eyes once more... and wondered if he had fallen asleep. He must be dreaming, for there to be such a massive tiger in the room. They weren't exactly common after all. But as the tiger spoke to him with Wulfe's voice, he began to understand. Her power was to be able to manipulate her physical form somehow, in this case changing into a massive cat. Grinning weakly, he was glad that she had accepted his answer. He didn't know how he would've defended himself against such a creature, especially not with his eyes closed. However, his next comment was not on her form, which was impressive, but on what she had said.
"When we approach Alyce?" he asked curiously, finding that he was having a difficult time judging her reactions or emotional state when she was in this form. Part of him wondered if she had been joking. He had thought about approaching Alyce himself and attempting to emotion jammer him, his most powerful technique of emotional control. However, he had written it off as an impossibility, as even if he was able to paralyze the dictator, he would never get the chance to finish the job. Surely such a mission was suicide.
But he nodded slowly and smiled to her, giving the tiger a slight bow as he sat there. "There is no need to thank me. I haven't done anything deserving of praise..." His smile shifted to a grin as his internal workings flared up for a moment, feeling himself come alive as his anger flooded him. "Yet." Now was his chance. He would prove himself by assisting these people, and he would turn the current order on its head. He would enjoy the eventual encounter with Alyce. A chance for either revenge or redemption, he was almost shaking with anticipation...

Sky's watching... Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo. Getting slightly tired of waiting, John moved onwards, ignoring the character standing nearby the building - which was his goal, almost completely. Closing in on the doors of the old structure, he glanced round, wondering if he should try and enter casually or hold some sort of cautiousness in case of the security they might have here. Also, whoever was inside might not enjoy him ramming inside without any warning or sneaking in without a sound.
After a short while of thinking about his current situation, he decided knocking on the door would be the best, most neutral choice. The attention it might draw... well, there's always the "run" option - he thought. Rising his hand slightly, glancing once more towards the girl standing not so far away, he knocked thrice on the door, hoping to get the attention of someone that would be inside. All his hopes were with him not being mistaken about the purpose of this building and that he wouldn't mistakenly enter a house he did not intend to enter. Stepping back afterwards, throwing another glance towards that girl standing nearby, he waited, testing his patience... or whatever was left of it.
"What will I say?... what can I say?" - he thought as he observed the handle of the door and listened carefully if there were any steps or voices coming from the other side. "I'm normal?... n-no... I cannot say that. I... need help? Shelter?... Yes... that's it... shelter..." - he smiled in content and awaited for a response... any response from those inside... hopefully not hostility though... Storm had her mouth open, ready to respond to Retsu's words when the knocking sounded on the door. The words changed in her mouth, "It-Again?" Her head turned to look back at the door and she stood up to turn around, her tail flipping sharply into the sofa. "Oh, this is going to be awkward," she said to Retsu, realizing that she would have to be herself to answer the door. But at that moment, she wasn't wearing anything...
"Zap! Leo!" Her voice came out amplified, echoing through the rooms leading down to the basement, "I need a favor...now!"

Groaning at Storm's call, Zap paused his game, and went down four spots in the menu. The 'save' feature that he had found after a number of attempts and restarts. Once the save bar had filled, he powered off the system and, grabbing Leo, went up the stairs. There he found a red-headed man and a bengal tiger. "What can we do Storm?" he asked of the tiger, not really paying much attention to their new guest. [Sorry if my posts seem short. I'll try and make them bigger as we go on]

Her large head swiveling to look at the boys, Storm growled at them. Shouldn't it be obvious she was in a pickle? "Could one of you answer the door and the other lead Retsu here to one of the empty rooms? I need to change back before I talk to this person so that I don't have to kill them, okay?" She let a hint of annoyance enter her voice, though it wasn't really directed at the boys--more at herself. Then, she turned to the man in white and said, "I'm sorry, Retsu, today seems to be a busy day. I don't mean to cut you short...we can talk at dinner when everyone gets together."
Then, padding silently behind the sofa where her discarded clothing lay in a pile, Storm gathered the pile of cloth in her mouth, painfully changing her teeth to blunt them so that she wouldn't puncture her clothes. Once that was done, she ran to the nearest closet, her ears perked to catch the sounds coming from the front door. A paw awkwardly closed the door. Changing was a process that couldn't be rushed though, lest it become painful, so she was patient as she morphed back into the body she'd been born with. Changing clothes, however, didn't take much time, and Storm simply tossed them on, making sure that everything was facing the right direction, and smoothing her hair before exiting the broom closet. A barefoot human Storm wasn't nearly as silent as a barefoot tiger Storm, but as she ran to the front door, she didn't make much sound beyond the clicking of the beads in her hair and the thumping of her bony heels on the hardwood. "I'm coming!" She called in warning to whoever was waiting.

Watching silently as Storm padded off to the closet to change, Zap turned to Leo. "Would you mind showing our guest to a room Leo?" Not waiting for a response, he walked calmly to the front door. Opening it, he found a man dressed nearly entirely in black. The thing Zap found oddest was the large hat. Who wore hats these days? The wrap on the man's face didn't concern him much though, that was his own business. "May I help you?" he asked in even tones. He didn't much care for conversations either way, and was relieved to hear Storm come running up , now back to normal. "She can help you better than I" were his final words to the black-clothed stranger as Zap turned and headed back towards the basement, leaving things to Storm.

Sky's watching... Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo. John blinked nervously as he heard the voice from behind the door, and stepped back immediately after it got to him. Soon afterwards, someone opened them and eventually asked a question... one he did not expect to hear actually... one he was not prepared to answer.
- "I... uhh... I am... I need..." - he tried to speak with somewhat trouble, still feeling quite dizzy and tired for some abnormal reason. It annoyed him that he always had to face difficulties when actually getting to confront someone... rarely when he planned the situation out in mind. Yet... why was he surprised.
Stuffing his hands in the pockets of his coat he glanced towards the person who opened the door for him, but did not dare to enter. Hearing as he mentioned someone else coming this way to see him, John got even more nervous and anxious about this whole event. He turned his head slightly to check on that other person who stood nearby the house before focusing at those who remained indoors.
- "I'm... looking for... shelter..." - he muttered eventually, not sure if they heard him say that.

Leo looked up when he heard Storm call him and Zap. He stuffed the tin video-game charachter in his pocket, deciding to show it, and likely give it as a sort of present, to Zap later on. He saw Storm in her tiger form, though the talking creature didn't really frighten him anymore. He had managed to get used to strange things in the house, afterall everyone caused them from time to time.
Leo liked the home because those sort of things were okay, he didn't have to worry about accidentaly melting doorknobs in front of people because they wouldn't look at him badly over it here. He smiled at Zap, pleased with the job division, "No problem."
"I guess that means we get to be room neighbors!" He looked to Retsu silver-grey eyes sparkling, smiling even more than before, afterall they were now going to be housemates. Leo was usually quite shy but he easily regarded anyone living in the same home as some sort of family, "C'mon, this way Mister...Um." He hadn't gotten his name before, even though he let him into the home. "What can I call you?" He looked up at him. The man was taller and Leo couldn't help but be reminded of his older brothers. He hadn't seen them in ages, but they were both bigger and stronger than him back when they were children.
