Do you think if the computer screen is starting to look like it has two pages like a book that it's time to... go do something else?

What do you mean? Like two windows are open?

Haha, you're not wearing a background, I didn't recognise you!

And no, I mean like I was seeing a giant crease down the centre of the screen. confused

You look great! I love the sand-coloured vests on the groomsmen. Did you say before it was beach-themed or am I just reading that from the colour?

Thank you.
They were also a little metallic. Sand and gold. It was on the beach at sunset. The reception was both winter and beach themed.

People always say I clean up well. Heh, it is bordering on both a compliment and offense – you're hideous the rest of the time, but put you through the wringer and in a state most unnatural to you, and you're presentable. Hehe.
They were pretty happy. I think Ross was happier than Kayh though, she's been moody, serious, and recalcitrant since the reception. Heh.

As I'm not really familiar with how you look day to day I was hoping you'd just take it as meaning "you look nice and cool - you happen to be all dressed up." It's just a saying. It's not meant to be "you look so much better than normal." I certainly did not mean it as the latter and frankly, I'm a bit hurt that you would assume I meant it that way. I know you have trouble accepting compliments but please don't use that as an excuse to tell me what is going on in my own head.

*sigh* so I take back my earlier statement and change it to simply. You look great!

I did not mean it that way, hence the "heh" and "hehe," please do not take offense. I was just poking at our language/sayings, not the compliment. Forgive my clumsy handling of it.

Okie dokie smile Maybe I'm a little sensitive to that kind of thing because right now my kids keep taking offense when one of them gets a compliment. They assume that if you say something good about one of them you mean the opposite for the other one. It's silly but frustrating.

Sorry, I genuinely was just poking at the language and I appreciate the compliment. That tuxedo made me feel very obese, so it is nice to know I actually looked good. whee

Well, Cam has established that she was simply invoking a common turn of phrase and meant that you look nice in formal wear. (Although you have to be careful, I mean she can be soooo harsh, right? rofl ) I agree with you though, it does sort of have a negative implication.

What's way worse though, is when people say, "Wow, have you lost weight? You look amazing?" So basically, what they're saying is that I was a) fat before and/or b) unattractive before but it's okay now because losing weight = gaining beauty. :

So I try to avoid that phrase, and things like it, and just simply say that a person looks great.

That's kind of funny but I imagine it can be annoying too. My sister, who's 11, is going through something similar right now where she takes pretty much everything personally. With all the criticism she gets at school and from the bitchy fellow-sixth graders, I don't blame her for getting defensive.
