Aura sat down cross-legged. "Me too."
A few deadly-silent minutes later, she spoke again. "I just paint the sets and work the lighting during plays. And occasionally help sew the costumes.
"This is all so surreal..."

Karin stood to the side and said nothing her eyes wandering off in space. Something wasn't right, the clues held an answer but it was only part of the puzzle solution. Why exactly were the three captives separated? And if they were really captives, why was Elias still in the mansion? Did that mean the others were in here too? Am I sure this isn't all just make believe? Something to spice up the dinner party? She fingered the cold frame of the glasses and tugged at the cloak she had on, in doing so, Karin noticed something carved into the wall where she stood. Narrowing her eyes, Karin examined the symbols which seemed to have been done very quickly and with a pocketknife.

Keeping her ears open for the slightest unusual sound, Aura closed her eyes and meditated on the subject at hand. She had a clue more than anyone else--that Elias wasn't in any actual danger, but that the others might--of course, after seeing his condition, Aura was starting to wonder what exactly Elias meant by fine.

Trouble is coming
But someone knew,
That the raven by the window,
Ate the clue...
"Weird..." Karin muttered, "These symbols are the same code I was taught at school for emergancys... fast, and easy to decode as long as the other person knows it well enough..." Did Mr. Gilfax write this? Karin's speculations were cut short by a sudden blow to her head. Winded, but still on her feet, Karin did a reverse spin kick. The attacker was knocked into the wall, turning almost in midair, Karin slid a dagger from her belt again. She aimed for a split second, then the dagger was lodged in the masked man's throat. Karin retrieved her weapon, then turned and ran toward the place where she heard Aura and the others.

The moment she heard steps coming down the stairs, Aura opened her eyes and stood up. When she identified Karin, she sighed with relief. "Hello! We found Elias, but he's knocked out. Alex and I are guarding the others as they sleep.
"You ok? What happened?"

Alyssa followed the others, still shocked by Elias appearance. "I'm just wondering something about Elias being taken captive. Why would they leave him without guard? Why so easy for us to find? Maybe they wanted us to find him? I have no idea why, but then again I have no idea why these people are doing this." She asked everyone, hoping for others opinions.

"Someone left a rhyme on the wall in the master bedroom. I don't know if it's a clue or a warning...either way, it goes like this," Karin took a breathe before continuing.
"Trouble is coming,
But someone knew,
That the raven by the window,
Ate the clue."
She blinked at the unconcious Elias, "I think Mr. Gilfax carved it. He's the only one I know that can write in the code I found the poem in. And what's with Elias?"

"I dunno," Aura replied to both of them, sitting down again. After a moment of thought, she answered Karin's question, thinking it was easier:
"He fell unconscious. You'd have to ask Lee when he wakes up for details though."
She mused about what Alyssa said, the mental debate emerging again.
But why? Why him? He's not a criminal or anything...

Karin leaned her back against the wall and fell into a light doze.
"Ah, Karin, there you are! Father asked you to get this statue to that high window over there. He says it's for the Halloween Party." Elisa was bouncing with excitment.
"You mean the raven over there? Ok, that'll be done by 3. Mr. Gilfax wants me to help him decide what to bake for the party food first. I hate making decisions on what color goes best with which..."Karin said, shaking the hair away from her face.
"That's cause you have good taste, Karin, father won't ask you to choose so many things based on color if that weren't true. Oh! And can you hide this slip of paper in the raven's mouth? It's for a game we're playing afterwards."

((Wait, so this is the Halloween party now? O.O Nice!
Also, before I forget, I love the little touches of poetry you add smile ))
Aura was about to ask Karin something about the poem, but when she saw the other was sleeping, said nothing. So. Trouble has already come...or does it mean there's more trouble to come?
Someone knew. That would be Elias, I'm sure.
But what raven by what window? An actual bird? Or a statue? Either way there's another clue there.
Again she recalled that different parts of the house were made of different kinds of wood, and that the master bedroom had an object of every kind of wood in it. So depending on which wall, and which part of that wall, that should be the section of the house we next search for the raven and the clue.

Alex was deep in thought. She heard what was going on around her, but she didn't reply. She just thought. Something odd is going on. We must have been meant to find Elias. Otherwise why would we have? Unless he's doing this as a trick. "I think I'll walk around." She said a little dazed, getting up off the ground.
((I Like the poetry too. Reminds me of this friend I have named Angela. She says random poetry all the time.))

Something moved and Karin heard a creaking sound, her eyes shot open. It was just Alex who had gotten up, probably to stretch her legs, the mystery was making everyone jumpy. Karin stretched and checked her watch, it was 1 in the morning, she had had literally 2 hours of sleep. So her dream was the answer to part of the poem, she knew where the raven was but it was on the other side of the mansion and Karin didn't want to walk there in the night. Closing her eyes again, she tried to fall back asleep.
