I'm sorry but Naruto's Japanese cast is horrible save a few. Especially the VA they chose for Naruto. It doesn't even sound male. It sounds like a ferret going the a meat grinder. They took the typical Shonen stereotype VA and stuck her on Naruto. At least English Naruto sounds like a gutter rat and boy going into his teenage years.

There are plenty of anime where the Japanese did a good job of casting. Naruto is not one of them. Hell, Bleach might be a crappy series but at least they casted characters properly.

Plus Crispin Freeman is Itachi and the dub is skipping on the fillers and going straight into Shippuuden/post time skip arc.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely hate Bleach since SS ended. The arrancar arc ranks up there with some of the dumbest crap ever written. You can sum up the entire plot of Bleach in one name and a suffix.

"Kurosaki-kun..." That's all it is. Bleach is horribly trashy made for the 20 year old Yaoi bait market.

Thank you. It's about damn time someone said it. Seriously, can anyone name anything even somewhat original about Bleach?

Why all the hate towards Bleach? Whats with this ""Kurosaki-kun.."" and it being made for the Yaoi bait market?

@Arvis
Are you asking for original things in Bleach becasue was Bleach an idea copied from other stuff? I really don't know so please explain.

The entire plot of Bleach is centered around Orihime going "Kurosaki-kun" or feeling bad about herself because she's in love with Ichigo. That's it. That's all there is to it. There is nothing more then that. Everything else? Just a fight so Orihime can keep going "Kurosaki-kun."

Plus, come on. We have tender looks between guys. Mad Scientist Ladyboys. The tonk covers. The full color spreads of stuff like guys standing in the water downcast, vampires, etc. etc. Kubo has pretty much written out every female not Orihime, and butchered her personality to the point where her vocabulary consists of a name and a suffix. It caters to the 20 year old girls that love Yaoi.

Everything that was once good about Bleach was killed th moment Yami and Ulqi landed in the exact same way Vegeta and Nappa landed. It was even a small guy and a big hulk landing in a crater then killing a bunch of people. People call Naruto DBZ with Ninjas, but the real DBZ rip is Bleach. Unexplained power ups, shitty monologues about heart, nothing but fight fight fight, etc. etc.

Bleach deserves all the hate it gets for being horrible. Like... Black Cat anime horrible.

I wanna find something I've wanted all along....

Ouch, getting hot in here. I myself don't see what's so wrong about Bleach. Yeah yeah, yaoi magnet. But what anime isn't? Pretty much every anime with main characters(Both good and evil) is going to get yaoi. You can't escape fangirls(or guys in some cases).

I actually like Bleach more than Naruto, but "Kurosaki-kun" does get annoying. Just like "Believe it!" does. Another thing which is stupid about the plot is the whole "key to the king of soul society" thing. Seriously, a literal giant key? For a place with actual computers and technology, when it comes to something important like that, they use something as primitive as a key...this isn't like tons of houses in one area where it is very unlikely you'll find a house the key you found fits in. This is a place where one could easily duplicate a key like Aizen is trying to do.

Another thing that confuses me is the whole when you die you go to Soul Society...then you can die again? -.-' Why? They don't even explain religious reasons or anything with that. Though Blues is right, I'm kind of confused about the whole plot now focusing on Orihime thing. But overall I've found it more entertaining than Naruto. Maybe it's me but I like how the story is going along and they actually focus on other characters in points of the story.

Also, Bleach may not be all that original, but most things derive and get ideas from older things. You can only be so original. One word to say about that, BoBoBo.

When you get right down to it, from the aspect of purely writing. Naruto and One Piece are better series then just about anything running in Jump today. Though Eyeshield has some pretty damn good writing.

Everything is explained in Naruto, or will be. Character motivation is there. Character flaws are there. Character development is subtle and built over the passing of tiem. There is downtime, proper use of world building, political structure, etc. It's a tight story and the actual sub plot and main plot is vastly underrated as is the Full Metal Alchemist manga.

I'm not sure, but perhaps it's because of the off the wall manga (such as Tekkonkinkreet and Monster) that I read that I appreciate the under side of Naruto's writing that often times gets put into stereotypes by "fans" that technically don't apply at all. I mean, Sakura hasn't been useless since the Wave arc but people still call her such, for example.

Canis... Naruto doesn't say believe it post Chuunin arc. They wrote it out the same way that Naruto begins to talk about his dreams less and less versus the Japanese version keeping dattebayo all the way though. Hell, it's humorous that Naruto gets lumped in for "kids" when the over all themes really wouldn't be suited for kids if it were a game.

I mean hell, when was the last time someone died in a kid show that was crying out that he wasn't ready but it ultimately ended up futile? Or the topical nature of the Rain village being stuck between other countries wars and the orphans crafted by war. Revenge hasn't been painted pretty. Itachi could very well be following a story akin to Infernal Affairs considering everything that has come up.

It's never pulled any punches and lessened anything for the sake of being happy.

Bleach has had peoples arms ripped off then Orihime god mode kicks in and suddenly everyone is all better.

Compare Iruka's dialogue during the funeral of Sandaime to Kaien's speech about heart. I'll give you a hint, Kaien's speech sugar coats death versus Iruka flat out saying people die, they leave behind people, etc. etc. Technically Pain's philosophy behind growth through Pain is correct. Pain causes a person to grow up. Be it the death of a family member, a broken limb, a lost love, or something else. A person changes after experiencing pain. Where he's wrong is that he wants to apply his ideal to the many.

He's a gray villain. Not wrong, but acting in a manner that is. A situation where the end does not justify the means.

Orochimaru? He wasn't technically evil. He was gray. He had proper motivation. He follows the old spiel that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Being a top tier shinobi affected him. He did bad things, doesn't mean his main goal was evil.

Tousen was an example of a decent villain in Bleach. He had motivation, he wasn't wrong in his feeling, however his philosophy can't justify his actions. Then he was written in as a Aizen roadie.

Canis, there is also a difference between yaoi fangirls yaoi-fying everything and things marketed for them. Bleach is being marketed to them. Big difference.

There is a reason Naruto is so popular, and why a good deal of the fan base are made up of adults.

Was never putting down Naruto, I was just saying that I like Bleach better. Don't get me wrong, I love Naruto, great story. And you're right, it is very well written. I just have the bias of the Ninja to the Katana's thing.

I'm pretty much a fanboy in that sense but Katana's give me a huge bias which is a stupid reason I know, but the way the fights are just kind of entertain me more.

Like I said, not trying to demean Naruto in anyway, I haven't watched the dubbed series in a long while so I didn't know about the whole gradual stop thing. But one problem with that is Dattebayo doesn't translate to "Believe it", or anything for that matter. It's not even a word. But I guess that doesn't make it any less childish.

Anyway, one thing I do agree with completely is the whole Orihime jumping in to save the day thing. Her power is pretty much impossible even with being fiction. Naruto at least is the most logical(besides Death Note) given it does the whole Ninjutsu thing. It actually explains structures and limits of the systems. Bleach is just kind of like "Say these words and s**t happens". Orihimes powers could at least be explained. The whole reverses time thing just kind of agitates me because time can only move forward and not backward.

As for the Yaoi thing, I don't see any of it going on in Bleach. I think you're exaggerating it too much, but oh well.

I also never denied the justification for Naruto's popularity. Again, just saying I like bleach more than Naruto, though I tend to be in the minority, so that's not surprising.

Alright guys, save it for the Anime/Manga sub-forum! Seriously though, I can appreciate Naruto because it's story has a better structure. But to me, neither of them are worth mentioning to anyone. They can both burn in hell. Most of Bleach, and some of Naruto could be thought up by anyone with a pen, paper, and a mind full of Dragon Ball.

Ok I understand why you don't like it now and I sorta of agree but still prefer Bleach.

What was wrong with the Black cat anime it wasn't that great but I don't see what was so horrible about a short 23 episodes
What do you think if the Black Cat manga?

EDIT:
@Crimson Sorry we don't have anything else to discuss until another pix posted sweatdrop maybe I'll make an anime/manga thread at the crew hangout

Funny since Kishimoto was inspired by Akira and not Dragonball.

OH YEAH!!!
Seriously though, that is a nice set-up. Bonus points if you're really not a dude.

By the way, Papiking, there isn't a single original word written anywhere in the Bleach manga. It is the worst example of plot-borrowing and cliche-driven character arcs since Inuyasha.
