In the near future, the year 2132, virtual reality has not only been attained, but has become mainstream. Following the release of mainstream virtual reality equipment to the public, video game companies’ profits have continually risen to ever-more impossible heights. But what took the cake was when the profits of Triton Enterprises skyrocketed beyond the competition’s upon their release of the first video game to not simply give the player a view of what their character sees, provided through a helmet, and nerve impulses through a unique suit, but to actually put the player in the game. Triton Enterprises had developed a device that, in all likelihood, was ripped off from The Matrix. However, instead of using it to harvest human bodies for energy, Triton used it to build the first video game in which the player could really be in the game. In fact, they made it into the first MMORPG to use this technology. The technology was unknown to the public prior to the unveiling of the game it was designed for. And as such, Triton named the technology after this game: The Labyrinth. The Labyrinth was a game with a medieval setting that let users build a new body and persona for its world. Within the world itself, the point of the game was to prove who was best among the players. Scattered around the world were a number of special areas where the player must traverse a series of increasingly difficult trials in order to get to the center of the area: the Challenge. Each of these special areas held a different Challenge arena, and therefore, a different game. The winner of the game would be told where to find the next Challenge in the series. Once a player had won all of the Challenges, they would be told how to enter the most prestigious area of all: the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth was at the center of the overworld map, and it was far more difficult than any of the Challenges. Here, the map changed based on the hopes, desires, memories, and most of all, the imagination of every player who was within the Labyrinth itself. Thus, every time a new player entered, it would change for those already inside. Once inside the Labyrinth, players had to reach the central arena. There, they would fight for the glory of claiming victory over the game. Once they were victorious, they would be given a unique item, proving their victory. From there, the central story was over, and the world was theirs to explore. Recently, a number of players discovered one fatal flaw in the system: the NPCs have become self-aware. The NPCs act as normal humans, and look like the average player. However, several of the NPC guilds of the world have turned on the players. These guilds, evil and/or corrupt within the storyline, maintained the mentality of their programming: attack those who oppose them, kill any who have something worth killing for, or kill for fun. The other guilds, both pro-player NPC guilds and player-made guilds, are there as the players’ support. Until they fall. The NPC civil wars that the players encountered in the story are real now: the battles don’t ask players to join; they are recruited by force. The evil NPCs are killing players and other NPCs. However, instead of being removed from the world or respawning, the players really die, and the dead NPCs never come back. This has caused a panic at Triton Enterprises, as they must remove all players from the game. However, the leader of the most power NPC guild, the Red Army, has figured out how to shut off the exit protocol. Ten have perished thus far. The world is in civil war: players vs. NPCs. The game has changed. The rules: forgotten. The programming: nonexistent. The goal: live. You are brand new players who had just gotten into the world when the exit protocol was shut off. You have been trapped within the world, but you don’t know it. You must live. You must defeat the Red Army. You must take back the Labyrinth, the Red Army’s stronghold. Can you handle this burden?

The Reality Clause Just to be sure that you all understand this: you must play realistically. Thus, if you think your char needs a piece of equipment, you must have put it on the original char sheet. If it is not there, then it is not in your inventory. If you want a power, it must be on your original char sheet. If it is not on there, then you don't know it. You may find items by looting corpses, trying to pickpocket someone, or buying it. You may only obtain new powers when I say you do. Thus, if you want to carry a potion supply, but didn't put it on your char sheet, then you have to obtain it; you can't just poof it into your inventory. If you want to be able to sniff out magic, you have to request that as a power upgrade. However, this example is impossible and will not be granted. Now please, when you make an action, you must attempt it. You cannot say, "I smell the corpses," unless I have stated that you smell them. You cannot assume that there is a pot nearby; you must look around for an object to bash the guy over the head with, and I will tell you what is available for the action. It is my job as the GM to describe the setting, NPCs, and events to you. You as the players may interact only with what is defined by me. You may not define anything other than the personality and attempted actions of your character. But that means that their inventory is set in stone until something occurs that causes you to interact with its contents. To summarize: you attempt, I say succeed/fail; your items are pre-defined; the world is defined by me, and you cannot add any details to it. This is the Realism Clause. This is a game within a game, yes; but that inner game, Triton Enterprises' The Labyrinth, is now your chars' reality. There are no Item Spawners, no Respawn Counter, no Skill Bar, no HP, no Mana. This is real. You can't cheat the game. There are no connection issues, no lag; there is only reality. Thus, you can't possess the infamous a** of Holding; you possess that which you are defined as having. You are not this world's God; I am. You are mortal people, who are living a second life, from which you are likely unable to ever leave. I hope this is clear and not challenged. Thank you all.

Character Sheet Please note: This data is for the character when in the game world. In the RP's real world, you are human and can only be male or female. Thus, the name is the player's screen name, sex can be different from the player's real sex, etc. You don't have to consider the real player, just who/what they are in the game. Please send this as the skeleton (with the BBCode "code" and "/code" tags) so that I can just paste it directly into the Accepted Characters post once the char is accepted.
Also, please note that everyone will start with weak armor for their "profession type" (i.e., weak armor for assassins and scholars/mages, medium for adventurers, or strong for soldiers). Your weapons are also base-level.
Finally, NPCs will scale in power so that they do not slaughter you effortlessly. Please do not assume that NPCs will slaughter you just because you have weak armor/weapons. Thank you.[code][b][color=blue]N[/color][/b][i][color=green]ame[/color][/i]: (Name must be an actual name, not some of the names that show on MMOs [i.e., Ghimser Erwel is acceptable, but “X I Hate You X” is not].) [b][color=blue]S[/color][/b][i][color=green]ex[/color][/i]: (I expect male and female, but I don't disallow things like hermaphrodite or genderless.) [b][color=blue]R[/color][/b][i][color=green]ace[/color][/i]: (This means human, elf, anthro [and what animal thereof], dwarf -mimi's [humans with animal ears and tails added on; and, again, the animal thereof], gnome, -taur (mixtures of anthro and feral animals, like a centaur), etc. You may choose ANY fantasy race except for alien/extraterrestrial. Please note that if you are human, you cannot have animalistic qualities. Also, you may use mythical creatures [anthro, mimi, or taur]. No feral animals, please [i.e., the char must be human-shaped, with the exception of -taurs]. As a final note: the races will be reviewed by me, and the abilities that members of the requested races all possess will be determined by me. You may make requests/suggestions, but there is no guarantee that they will be implemented.) [b][color=blue]A[/color][/b][i][color=green]ppearance[/color][/i]: (This is quite literally how you look. Markings, piercings, clothes, etc. And, unnatural hair and eye colors are allowed. Eyes may glow, if you wish.) [b][color=blue]A[/color][/b][i][color=green]ge[/color][/i]: (15-40) [b][color=blue]B[/color][/b][i][color=green]ack[/color][/i] [b][color=blue]S[/color][/b][i][color=green]tory[/color][/i]: (This is of course your char's past [a story of what the video game char did before the story, NOT the player's story]. This is optional. You may request to discuss a "Secret Origin" with me that the other players will not be aware of.) [b][color=blue]P[/color][/b][i][color=green]ersonality[/color][/i]: (This is how your char acts. Please, I would like as few characters that can be described as “emo” or “tragically depressed” as possible. One or two is good.) [b][color=blue]Q[/color][/b][i][color=green]uirks[/color][/i]: (This is anything that is out of the ordinary, such as being ambidextrous or an addiction. Quirks can be good or bad.) [b][color=blue]S[/color][/b][i][color=green]pecialties[/color][/i]/[b][color=blue]S[/color][/b][i][color=green]kills[/color][/i]: (This is your fighting style. Magic [and what kind], melee, ranged combat, etc. This is, as stated above, subject to review. You may request a mixture of magical and non-magical skills, but it will be subject to further review.)

Accepted Characters
Rikku Wood Name: Willow Reaper Sex: Female Race: Human Appearance: Willow decided to base her character off of her own appearance, therefore she has long straight raven black hair which falls to her waist, she is wearing what appears to be a Japanese school-girl uniform only with a longer skirt and has added several small 'gothic' accessories to it. Her skin is a pale almost white colour which seems to enhance the colour of her bright red eyes. She is slightly slim and small chested and stood at roughly Six feet tall, but she couldn’t care less about her size. She appears to be nineteen years old. Age: 21 Back Story: Unlike other humans, Willow was not born of a mother and father, no. She was created from an unclean soul by death himself. However, upon creating her, the unclean soul released its power nearly destroying the world of the dead. Fearing for the safety of his beloved souls, Death discarded her on earth in a human body and sealed the power within. Many years have passed since that day, and now, at the age of twenty one, that power has began to unseal, granting her acces to the 'Reaper arts' but they come at a heavy cost. Willow had grown up as part of a traveling circus with her "father" after being abandoned by her "mother," it was a peaceful if busy life, but she had always wanted something just a little more exciting. This feeling grew inside her, so much so that it soon became her dream to go out and explore the world on her own. So, five years after sneaking away, she joined a group of young adventurers for a while, learning the art of combat and self-protection among other skills. However, on their last journey, a large boulder had blocked them off from each other and they agreed to meet up at the exit. The bodies of her companions washed up on the shore of a nearby beach several days later. Now, in another attempt at adventuring, she readies her equipment, and sets off once more. Personality: Again, She decided to base this off of herself. When alone, or with people she dislikes/doesn’t trust, she is quiet, cold, and is often seen reading a book. However when in the opposite situation, her personality does a backflip, she becomes happy, kind-hearted and fun to be around, she also has a tendency to be unusually hyper and random at times. Has an addiction to cool hats. Quirks: She is a contortionist Specialties/ Skills: Hand-to-Hand Combat, however she prefers to use her legs (Think Sanji from one piece). She can also use a battle-scythe, however she doesn't like doing so. Her Reaper Arts include: Reaper art - Missing memories [Allows her to read the memories of the deceased] Reaper art - Soul protector [if there is a dead bodie within her line of sight, she can create a..force field... if you like, but it is not inpenetrable, and when it is struck it can cause her harm, usualy used to protect others not herself] Reaper art - Morbid signals [if someone is dead/bleeding/dying, she can sense the direction they are in] Reaper Art - Chameleon Dawn [Allows the user to meld with the shadows as long as the avoid light, moving into the light of having light break the shadows, the art is released, must have calm mind and almost full concentration to perform, cannot be used in combat.] *Gained from strong emotional moment off-screen on page 185 Of course using any of these will weaken her, tire her and take concentration, if any of these things are too low, the art is canceled out and she may take a moment to 'come back' in a sense. STATS: HP: 19 STR: 14 DEX: 14 CON: 12 INT: 14 WIS: 15 CHA: 13+2 EXP: 420Starting Armor: Uniform described in Appearance. 0 DR. CURRENT Armor: Leather armor. 2 DR. Racial Stat Bonuses/ Disadvantages: Reaper (+2 to all magic), Other Info: None
Glitch494 Name: Claw Griffonreaper Sex: female Race:Wemic (Lion-taur for those of you that don't know D&D, and other fantasy rpg games.) Appearance: She has golden fur, and a bulky build. She towers over normal men and looks to be as strong as an ox. She wears a suit of scale armor that covers her entire body with clockwork enhancements that reduce the armor’s encumbrance. In the chest plate is a small dial that winds up providing power to the actuators of the suit. Her helmet covers her face completely, and has a slit in the shape of a ‘v’ to provide her sight. It also has two spaces on both sides of her humanoid torso that hold extra clips of bolts for the crossbow mounted on the suit’s right arm. The cross bow is adorned with many different gears and has a slot on the top to fit a large clip of bolts that lets her fire continuously without reloading after every shot. Each clip is a box containing ten bolts that are fed by a spring mechanism that ensures the chance of jamming is reduced greatly. The crossbow itself is fired via a lever that can be retracted back into the arm to allow her to use her hand freely. She also has a rack on the lion part of her torso that holds a spear. Age: 27 Back Story: Claw Griffionreaper was born into a tribal wemic society, destined to be trained as a huntswoman for her clan. At the age of ten in spring time during the changing of colors festival, a caravan arrived full of exotic fruits. The people from this caravan were friendly and handed out this fruit as a gift. Little did they know at the time this fruit immobilized, and knocked them all out. Later Claw Griffionreaper woke up in a wagon unsure of where she was; she was bound and gagged, and surrounded by armed guards. Tears filled her eyes as she thought about her parents, and what might have happened. Days past and she was fed only enough for her to survive, the caravan was attacked. A huge bolder crashed into the wagon, crushing half of it, in that moment the stunned Claw Griffionreaper looked out of the broken wagon and saw several figures outlined against the sun. They threw what looked like small rocks that exploded into a huge cloud of think gray smoke. In complete awe she watched as her captors were slain by silhouettes in the gray smoke. With strange devices that shot arrows with a rate that was unheard of, all the slavers were massacred. After the smoke cleared one of the shining men clad in silver armor walked up to Claw Griffionreaper, and untied her. She stared at the man in disbelief as he took his helmet off revealing the face of an elf. He smiled and helped her on to her feet. She then looked to see where the bolder came from and saw a massive wooden structure that had an arm with a bowl at the end that looked like it could fit a bolder. Looking around she saw all her clan mates, that is save for her parents… She fell to her knees crying and the elf that freed her knelt beside her, and put a hand on her shoulder, uttering what sounded like a prayer. From that day forward she knew she wanted to be like that elf, and defend people from the monsters that killed her parents. The elf started to leave but Claw stopped him by grabbing his arm. He looked back and the crying wemic, and knew what she wanted. She said goodbye to her clan, and set off with the elf and his band of freedom fighters. She learned quickly how to speak the common language, read, and write. Years past, then she became an apprentice under a master tinker gnome, to learn how to make the tools that helped her all those years ago. Personality: Claw Griffionreaper has gone a little crazy from all the knowledge she gained. Like her mentor she tries to explain how all of her inventions work under the motivation of giving her knowledge to everyone. She is friendly to everyone save for those that take action against her first, and always offers to help those in need. Quirks: She is always thinking of better ways to do things. She has a strange knack for finding importance in seemingly uninteresting items. She is always looking for new inventors to show her work to. Specialties/Skills: Great at fixing anything from swords to clockwork armor. An excellent shot with a crossbow. Good with spears. An inventor of all things mechanical. Has good survival skills. She is also good at sewing
Blow_em_up Name: Layla Abdul Sex: Female Race: Descendant of Solona, an archangel of Sylane, the Goddess of the Moon, Night, and Stars Appearance: Has slightly tan skin. Has long black hair with silver streaks running through it. She has a distinct angelic poise to her movements. She has a wiry build, but looks quite capable in a fight. She has flowing tattoos that go over her entire body that are black, but seem to have a silvery sparkle to them. She wears a crossed black leather bustier, a flowing skirt down to her feet that is cut to expose her legs, and has black heeled shoes. Her clothing has several chains of silver adorning it. She also has a small, crescent moon shaped crest on her forehead. Her eyes are a dark violet, and have a piercing, divine quality. She also has wings on her back, which are covered in beautiful, iridescent black feathers. While she does look quite capable combat, she still has beauty and grace one would expect from an angel when not actually in battle. Age: 19 Back Story: In real life, Layla is a full time student at college, studying to get a Doctorates degree in chemistry. She is a hobbyist programmer and gamer. She made a series of games that started off as a tribute to Matt Roszak’s Epic Battle Fantasy series, but it quickly evolved into an entity of its own. Her tendency to play holy characters (despite being atheist herself) in RPGs and overall rebellious nature got her nicknamed the “Zealot” by her friends. In game, her character was descended from a long lineage that traces back to an archangel that came to the Earth to defend the mortal realm in a cataclysmic battle so old, it’s almost only recorded in holy texts. Her family, quite proud of the namesake, is a line of upper crust nobility that live in the richest district of their city. Despite this, many members of her family train to fight in defense of the city, should disaster strike, and are quite devout religiously. They realize that in order to flaunt their lineage, they should at least try to act like it. Despite this, only Layla was willing to completely abuse her status to help the less fortunate. While the rest of her family tried hard to preserve their title, the status didn’t mean much to her. She was an idealist that wanted everyone to prosper. She would often duel nobles who pushed around the poor without cause, and used her status and name to try to get support set up for those who were in need. She’s also less “hard core” about her faith then the rest of her family, preferring to let her actions speak in place of ritual. Many have a mixed feeling on her; on one side, they have a person willing to help people, and having great ability to do so, on the other, she’s also little more than a mob boss in mentality, fully willing to abuse her power to get what she wants. The authorities tend to secretly thank her, as she handles issues that they themselves would be treading on thin ice on to do so (non nobles messing with nobles doesn’t tend to end well), but her tendency to raise some chaos in the process prevents them from expressing gratitude publicly. Personality: Layla tends to be passionate about whatever she does, be it something trivial like playing a video game to college studies. She enjoys embracing her characters in RPGs. To her, this makes the game far more enjoyable. She thoroughly enjoys video games, but doesn’t tend to obsess over them to the point of formulating hours long plans to do a half hour mission. She hates standing idly doing nothing when she has the ability to help. Quirks: Being a gamer and a programmer, she has a tendency to speak in computer terms on occasion. The strength of her powers are affected by the time of day, with the afternoon weakening her power and the night strengthen them. They are at a “baseline” power level during the morning and evening. Layla's eyes are more receptive to light, which lets her see better in the dark, but on the other hand, her eyes are more sensitive to light, with even the noon sun causing her degrees of pain. Specialties/ Skills: Her heritage has given her a few abilities beyond standard human ability. Instead of wielding a physical weapon, she can create blades on her forearms or a bow from a silvery, holy light. These weapons scale in power in proportion to her character’s strength. They are no deadlier then their weapon’s equivalent, however. The blades, despite being made of light, are more of a divine representation of a weapon rather then an energy blade, and can be used to parry, as well as can be parried. She uses her divine power to heal and boost the abilities and weapons of herself and her party. Her wings allow her to assist her jumps by giving her more height, and allow her to glide. They do not actually allow for full blown flight. Her fighting style tends to focus on speed and adaptation over force. STATS: HP: 17 STR: 10 DEX: 14 CON: 13 INT: 13 WIS: 16 CHA: 16+2 EXP: 420Starting Armor: Dress described in Appearance. 0 DR. CURRENT Armor: N/A Racial Stat Bonuses/ Disadvantages: Can glide (+2 to roll to save from falling), Night vision (+2 to perception roll at night), Reduced day vision (-2 to perception roll during day, unless wearing a hat) Other Info: Benevolence (+1 to any benevolent/non-harmful spell)
KOAC Name: Apollo Lysander Sex: Male Race: Human Appearance: Apollo’s outfit is very loose and completely concealing, normally not showing any part of his body. It involves: a plain white mask that covers his entire face, even concealing his eyes, and a black hood covering the rest of his head. A white tunic with excessively long sleeves that widen at the end to completely conceal his hands when in the right position, allowing him to secretly cast spells.. The tunic has symbols on the chest, around the bottom, and around the sleeves similar to Sierpinski triangles. Wears similar black pants with the same design along the bottoms. Also has a cape that looks like a black demon wing on the right side and an angel wing on the left side with alternating black and white feathers. Because of this outfit, no one knows what he actually looks like. Age: 19 Back Story: Was born with a very strong magical affinity, and as such was put into a mage’s guild in order to learn how to utilize his abilities. He was a remarkably quick learner and swiftly mastered every element of magic. Shortly afterwards, he began experimenting with different ways to use magic, specifically how to fuse multiple elements in order to create new ones. He spent most of his time experimenting with the fusion of light and dark energies, which was very difficult to use because the energies would essentially try to destroy each other when fused. His crowning achievement that marked his graduation from the mage’s guild was when he finally figured out how to successfully fuse light and dark magic in a very destructive way that he referred to as “Annihilator Energy.” Personality: Very curious about all things magical or scientific, but lacks barely any interest in social/political matters. He enjoys combat as it is the perfect way to show off his signature Annihilator spells. He is somewhat overconfident and believes himself to be one of the cleverest and most powerful mages yet is very aware of his weaknesses (such as being comparatively slow since he has to prepare 2 spells in order to do one cast.) Quirks: Will almost never cast normal spells, even if he needs to cast something quickly. Specialties/ Skills: Fusion magic. Can use magic without the need for words or any sort of tool such as a staff or tome, allowing him to conjure up magic solely through the use of hand movements. Is proficient in every type of elemental magic. STATS: HP: 17 STR: 10 DEX: 14+2 CON: 16 INT: 15 WIS: 16 CHA: 11 EXP: 420Starting Armor: Robes described in Appearance. 0 DR. CURRENT Armor: N/A Racial Stat Bonuses/ Disadvantages: Strong magic (-2 to enemy's roll to defend against a spell) Other Info: None
Twiclipse Name: Leina Sex: Female Race: Human Appearance: Very slim, but well endowed. She has pale skin, light blue eyes and very long, black hair that almost appears purple. She wears a tight, sleeve-less black dress that reaches mid-thigh and flares out at the bottom with black, knee-high boots Age: 19 Back Story: REAL LIFE: Leina is actually her name. She was just hanging out with her friends when one of them convinced her to try what she thought to be a dumb game out. They took her to the Triton Enterprise to get her involved. Her favorite part was really just making a character that looked a heck of a lot better than real life and with better skills. CHARACTER LIFE: Leina (unable to choose a different name than her own) was raised by a father who was an outcast to society. He had become an assassin and decided to make Leina do the same. She was taught to become better than her father, and when she discovered he had actually killed her mother she ended up killing him herself. She became even rogue in her own small community and had started to kill those who she would define as criminals. Personality: Leina is (pretty obviously) anti-social. She has a very hard time trusting people and just finds life easier when not being a part of a group. She can be very kind and loving to people, but there just doesn't seem to be anyone worthy of it to her. To sum it all up; she's a loner and doesn't plan on changing that unless some miracle occurs. Quirks: Surprisingly she is deep-rooted in her Christian religion (although she obviously goes against it in her lifestyle choice) Specialties/Skills: She has the amazing abilities with her choice weapon; a sword a lot like a katana. STATS: HP: 10 STR: 13 DEX: 14+2 CON: 14 INT: 12 WIS: 13 CHA: 12 Starting Armor: Dress described in Appearance. 0 DR. CURRENT Armor: N/A Racial Stat Bonuses/Disadvantages: Stealth (-2 to enemy perception when trying to sneak around) Other Info: None
Seliasei Name: Nyx Kalonice Sex: Female Race: Tora-mimi Appearance: She is a Tora-mimi with black cat ears and a black tail. She has a fair complexion and is fairly lean in build which strongly belies her physical abilities. She is dressed from upper neck to toe in black leather armor, which has a leather mask that covers her mouth and nose. She has a pouch on her left hip to carry a few supplies, a dagger carried in a sheath on her right thigh, two smaller pouches (one for kunai and one for shuriken) behind that. She has long black hair that is normally tied back in a mid-high pony tail. She has cat-like eyes (angle and pupils), and has a complete heterochromia; her left eye is gold and her right eye is navy blue. Her eyes can sometimes almost seem to glow at night and when she’s angry (sometimes they DO glow). Age: 21 Back Story: Being a very enigmatic individual, her back story is a mystery. All that is known is that some time back, she has spent an unknown amount of time under the tutelage of martial arts masters and masters of magic. All who meet her are certain that one or more of those individuals were ninja due to her fighting style (the majority of it at least). Personality: In battle, she is quiet, cunning, and serious. She can become quite sarcastic and spiteful when goaded or insulted by an enemy and when her allies are in danger or threatened. To those who witness her in battle for the first time, her demeanor (combined with her fighting style) can make the blood of even some of the bravest warriors freeze (so to speak). Outside of battle is a whole other story. To put it simply: she’s bouncy. She also has a very sharp wit, and many of her responses to others often involve humor. Her mood can shift from bouncy and perky to cold and abrasive in an instant, which can often scare others who aren’t used to her mood swings. Quirks: Once again, her shifty moods. She also has a tendency to give her allies a hard time using various methods (i.e., staring blankly at someone for long periods of time or echoing everything they say in a monotone voice, simply for the purpose of annoying them). She also has a tendency to start singing during ‘down time’ (time to relax and unwind) in camp. She is also known for her beautiful singing voice; it’s been said that she once stopped a whole army of soldiers with her singing (a rumor which she has neither verified nor denied). Specialties/ Skills: She uses a mix of magic and various styles of fighting styles. In terms of physical abilities, she is faster than average, more agile than average, slightly more flexible than average, ambidextrous, and has above-average strength. Her weapons include: the dagger on her thigh, six shuriken, and six kunai. Her magical abilities allow her to utilize lightning-element magic which she often combines with her physical attacks. She can summon a nearly unlimited supply of kunai and shuriken, which are only exhausted when she runs out of energy. She can summon other weapons when she learns that weapon's summoning spell. Her light weight can be a problem, and she tends to get tossed around a good deal if she isn’t careful about dodging. When an opponent does manage to grab her and decide to throw her, they always choose her tail, much to her annoyance. She also hates getting wet if it’s not by her terms (like a sudden flood), and she always complains afterward which can cause her to become distracted if it startles her. In her pouch, she carries a potion bottle, her mother's necklace, a fancy family pendant, and a shiny round object that no one has any idea what it's for. STATS: HP: 16 STR: 15 DEX: 14+2 CON: 14 INT: 14 WIS: 13 CHA: 14 EXP: 420Starting Armor: Armor described in Appearance. 2 DR. CURRENT Armor: N/A Racial Stat Bonuses/ Disadvantages: Night vision (+2 to perception rolls at night), acute hearing (+2 to sound perception rolls), claws (+2 to slash attacks performed with bare hands; does not affect punching) Other Info: Sneak Attack (+1 to damage roll if successful in performing a sneak attack)

He wears a metal pendant, extremely long and double looped around his neck so that it wont get in the way. His pants are long, baggy, and double belted, having two straps in the back for swords. His footwear consists of traditional wooden geta and knee-high socks. Age: 26 Back Story: A mercenary-for-hire, Mazurn killed however needed for the proper price, typically monsters or dungeons in need of clearing. However, when he had gotten a hold of a cursed pendant that he recieved as payment for one of his jobs. It had special properties, along with the nagging voice that speaks its own mind and occasionally possesses him. Personality: Mazurn is a stuck up and a jerk. He does have his moments, usually when fawning over women of preference, but usually, he is narcissistic and cocky. He is also has a short fuse and lights off over anything that personally pisses him off. Quirks: His eyes are quite sensitive, albe to see even through the pitch black night, but quick successions from darkness to light leaves him temporarily blinded Specialties/Skills: Mazurn is a heavy-blade swordsman, trained to weild even two handed swords - albeit slowly -with ease. He also is able to go into a rage, slowly killing himself for massive power an speed. Mazurn is also able to attack with two one-handed swords with great swiftness while enraged. STATS: HP: 18 STR: 15+2 DEX: 14 CON: 15 INT: 10 WIS: 12 CHA: 12 Starting Armor: Clothes described in Appearance. 0 DR. Leather jacket described in Appearance. 2 DR. CURRENT Armor: N/A Racial Stat Bonuses/Disadvantages: Tank (+2 to damage rolls) Other Info: Temporary blindness (fails sight perception rolls after a quick transition from light to dark or vice-versa), berserker (+2 to damage rolls when angry)
The AcinaD Name: Branwen Juiles Sex: Female Race: Anthro raven Appearance: In raven anthro form, my body is covered entirely in feathers minus my bird hands and feet. My hands are human shaped, but functioning as bird claws and my feet are also mostly human shaped but also able to function as bird feet. My feathers are long in the back of my head, giving the appearance of long, protruding hair. My eyes are dark brown as in human but glow gold in the dark and in certain lighting. I also have two "gryphon-like/canine-like" ears on the top of my head w/piercings in them (much like this). In human form, I'm similar to my actual shape in "reality" w/ wide set hips and "well endowed," but a little skinnier than in real life. I have chocolate brown eyes that appear amber in certain light. My hair is about chin length dark brown almost black. Age: 21 Back Story: Secret Origin Personality: She tries her best to be nice and loving to everyone, but her sensibility and sometimes short temper (and sometimes quickly stressed) causes her to become a little rude and sarcastic. Overall, she's likely to find something to make others feel better about themselves (even if she doesn't feel the best about herself) and will stick by those who show the most trustworthiness (although she has had strong trust bonds broken before). She may be a little lazy, but when it comes to something that interests her, she may be daring. Quirks: She has mostly crazy and disturbing dreams nightly and many have been proven to be prophetic, as in they happen or parts of them appear in real life. Specialties/Skills: Good Melee w/her dagger and special sword, but good long range, too, as she has the power of fire. Not the best long range accuracy, though. She can sense "vibes" and "auras" particularly strongly, which can help in distinguishing a person's intentions, histories, and emotions. This magnified sensibility also leads to her being over-judgmental sometimes and having difficulty getting along with certain people. Good at artsy-ness and knowledgeable in nature. Can shift from anthro raven to a human. This shift takes a few minutes to complete, and is not easily mastered.
glitch494 Name: Sand-Claw Sex: Female Race: Draco-taur Appearance: The upper portion of her body is human, with draconic features, and the lower body of a dragon (much like a centaur). Her head has horns sproting from the back of her head, so they seem rather decrative. She is covered in sand colored scales, and leathery wings protrude from her back (her draconic bottom torso). Standing tall at nine feet, it seems odd that she is ranther slim. Age: 20 Back Story: Sand-claw is a rather odd one, she grew up for the most part in a nomatic tribe of wemics. Being born from two different worlds, and growing up in another she always was a bit out of place. So she embraced her strangeness, and tried to do things in new ways, but it didn't always work. At the age of ten, her tribe was attacked, and she was taken as a slave. But she just saw it as another game to play. So she quickly escaped by breaking her bindings, and flying away laughing. Without a tribe to go back to, she wandered into a city, and found herself a job with the city guard. Quickly her skills with a ranged weapon where put to use when a roc attacked the city. She grabbed one of the ballistas mounted on the wall, and shot it down. For her excelence with a crossbow, and her heroic deed, she was given a more wieldly crossbow. She grew bored of being a guard, and set out adventureing soon after, looking for more games to play! Personality: Out going and cheerful, nothing can bring her spirits down. She trusts everyone, including monsters at times! She trys to do at least one crazy thing a day, preferably more! Quirks: Specialties/ Skills: Arbalesteir (as in the Etrian Odyssey 3 class), she uses a normally unwieldy crossbow, but her size lets her wield it ith ease. She also has the breath wepon of her ansestors, a cone of burning sand. She learned some hand to hand combat, so she can use her claws if need be. As an odd hobby, she paints, and crafts jewelry. STATS: HP: 22 STR: 18 (16+2) DEX: 15 (17-2) CON: 18 (16+2) INT: 10 WIS: 10 CHA: 13 EXP: 420Starting Armor: Natural sclaes. 2 DR. CURRENT Armor: N/A Racial Stat Bonuses/ Disadvantages: Bulk (-2 DEX), Draconic strength (+2 STR), Stalwart (+2 CON) Other Info: Flight (requires running start due to bulk)

PROLOGUE On the morning of April 30, 2132, Triton Enterprises opened the doors of the building in which it housed the central portion of its crowning achievement, the game known as The Labyrinth, for the thirtieth day in succession. Its first thirty days had garnered The Labyrinth critical acclaim and consumer obsession. The game had attracted more and more players since day one, when they started with 10,000 players waiting at the doors. However, this day would live on in infamy, as the president of Triton Enterprises would later find out. The president arrived in the control room just 10 minutes before the doors were opened. He sat back and watched as the monitors started showing the Suspended Animation Pods (SAPs) being activated. Soon, the majority of their 10,000,000 SAP units, which were in various Triton buildings around the world were filled with players entering the game. The president focused the screen on the beginning city, watching new players learning the mechanics of the game. After a moment, he noticed something odd: the NPC teaching the new players wasn't acting like he was the previous day. "Hey, turn the sound on," he said. And so it was done. It was then that the president knew, without a doubt, that something was wrong: the NPC wasn't following the script! How that was possible was beyond him. Until... "Sir!" an operator called. "We're receiving information from a player guild!" "Run it," the president ordered. And so, a frightened voice came through the speakers as a guild hall was shown on the screen, filled with players engaged in battle. One of the players was in front of the camera, barely able to defend himself against the onslaught. "The NPCs!" he cried between parries and blows. "Are! Alive!" "What SAP are you in?" the president asked. "Main! Building! Floor! B! Five! SAP! Ten!" "I'm coming!" The president jumped up and ran to the elevator, which shot him down to B5. As he dashed out of the elevator, he saw the boy in SAP MB-B5-10 seizing. He grabbed the communicator. "He's seizing!" the president yelled. "He's dying!" the operator called back. "...What?" Suddenly, the boy stopped seizing. The SAP opened. "He's dead," the operator replied quietly. "He lost his life points." "But..." the president muttered. "The exit protocol..." "The exit protocol is gone, sir." The president dropped the communicator and dropped to his knees in front of the dead boy. "Sir," the operator called out, "we just lost the rest of his guild. That makes ten deaths." "Let no one else into the game!" the president yelled. "Shut off the entrance protocol!" "Sir, several players just entered character creation." "..." "Sir?" "No..."

DAY ONE Everyone:When you all arrive, you find yourselves outside of a large city. It is eerily quiet. Each of you notice that there are six others around, thus making this a group of seven. Willow:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. Claw:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. Your feline ears pick up an unusual sound: frightened birds. Layla:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. You can see the local flag: red with a golden raven. However, you remember that the user's manual stated that the Grassland Kingdom's flag is green with a bronze bear. Apollo:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. You feel that something is off, as though the energy in the area is out of whack. Leina:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. You see that there is a guard sleeping on the job against the city walls, the gates of which are closed. Nyx:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. You notice that the wildlife in the area seems to be missing, save for the sound of frightened birds. Mazurn:You see a strange warrior-esque man, presumably an NPC, standing on the road not far off from you. You know that the nearby city is Aerust, the City of New Winds. You have a feeling that this man has something to give everyone in the area. Everyone:I will post a reply once a day at around 3PM Mountain Time (UTC-07:00), unless everyone posts before then. I will only post after everyone has posted at least once. Thus, if every player posts after me and I am still online, I will post again. If anyone has any questions about this system, please speak to me via PM/IM.

I walk up to the man. 'Excuse me, are you the person we talk to for the tutorial?" I ask. "Know any reason why the banner is different? Or is this the first mission?"

"Birds flying away from my might already? No it couldn't be that, must be something else," I say, then I approch the NPC. "Tutorial NPC, let's get this show on the road!"

I walk up to the NPC. "What happened here? What could have gone so wrong to distort the energies of this area?" I ask imposingly.

'It's a little quiet for such a hyped up game, hmm' like many things in her life, Willow had little time for tutorials, this became obvious to the others when she walked straight past them all in an attempt to find something of better interest, 'Ten seconds in and it already fails to impress' a small sigh escapes her lips, 'this is going to be a pain, I just know it'

"Het, would you happen to be giving stuff out?" Mazurn said, looking at the NPC. He looked at him with a cocky smirk.

I glance at the NPC and then at the guard failing to do his job. I also happen to notice a girl walking off past everyone toward the city. "Well she seems to have the right idea..." I mutter to myself, not intending anyone else to hear. I quickly follow her, but silently, not intending to only catch up with her, more so to maybe pass her and go whichever way was opposite of her.

I glance at the one who joked that the birds must be fleeing away from her. "Actually... other than the birds, I can't hear any other wildlife in the area. And those birds sound frightened..." I trail off as I walk towards the NPC. Why do I have a bad feeling? Something doesn't seem right. I notice that Willow walks right past the NPC. I call after her. "Oi! School girl! Tutorials are important. And, knowing how other games are, he's going to be giving us some stuff."

Layla: "Tutorial?" the man says. "What are you talking about? I'm the recruitment officer. Battle has occurred here. You are needed. The flag changed because the enemies have won this round."
Claw: "NPC?" the man replies. "What are you talking about? But since you are so willing to join us, here!" He thrusts a backpack into your paws and points to the city. "Defend it with your life!" he says.
Apollo: "Distort...energies...?" the man says. "What are you talking about?" He does not seem fazed by your imposing way of speaking.
Willow: As you approach the city walls, you notice the guard slacking off. He has blood on his armor. The gates are closed. No one is awake near you to open the gates. You realize that you have not obtained your backpack and other important game items.
Mazurn: "Yes," the man replies. "Supplies! Get over here if you want to join the fight!"
Leina: As you approach the city walls, you notice the guard slacking off. He has blood on his armor. The gates are closed. No one is awake near you to open the gates. You realize that you have not obtained your backpack and other important game items.
Nyx: "You there!" the man calls, pointing at you. "Are you here to sign up for the fight?"
