In the UK it is estimated that 1 in 4 adults and 1 in 10 children will suffer from mental illness at any time in one year. In the US that statistic is 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 20 children. In both countries the most common mental illness is depression and anxiety disorders.

Despite the high rates mental health is still a taboo in some families and communities. Many health professionals still refuse to take patients seriously with their mental illness and therefore do not receive the correct treatment… If mental illness was not tough on its own!

This guild welcomes anybody who suffers from mental illness, is a friend or relative of someone who suffers or would like to know more. There is a wide range of information in this guild as well as links to other resources.

Because of the nature of the guild there are a few rules that need to be followed:
- No Flaming: Member’s stories and experiences are sensitive and therefore do not need people arguing or insulting them.
- No mocking: It’s downright wrong and insulting, so don’t do it.
- No diagnosing: Although we all want an answer to what is really wrong with us these have to be diagnosed by a health professional (i.e. a doctor, psychiatrist etc) you can tell someone what you think and maybe ask them to get that seen professionally, but that is as far as it goes.

If you would like to join the guild then please send a join request with a brief description on why you want to join. Please be aware that I will check your profile and recent posts to make sure that you are not a troll or likely to cause harm in the guild.
