One hundred years had passed since the Great Storm- the event that lead the world to become the wasteland it was today. Eons of war, pollution, corruption and neglect had sealed the fate of mankind, stripping the land of potable water sources and fertile grounds to sustain adequate life. Oil and Blood held more economic weight than the world, and so the world as it was once known had perished. Only rumors exist now of what exactly the Great Storm was- some say it was a flood, some a drought, others assumed it to be a man made disaster involving nuclear warheads or a devastating war that lead to the extinction of humanity's way of life. What was left from the Great Storm was bones and desolation, toxic clouds of ash and chemicals blotted out the sun for months at a time- what bit of humanity that had managed to survive the Great Storm was left mangled and disfigured, surviving only by chance and greed.

As the dusts settled, the forgotten races took their chance to return to the Known Realm. Creatures once relegated to lore and stories told by humans for centuries now could walk the Earth freely. The world left behind for them ragged and barren, the populace was forced to make due with what little they had, and what little was left behind by mankind. Their ways are not much different from those of mankind- where the wealthy hold power and those of lower status and breeding are left to fend for themselves.

Masters of this world live in luxury- such opulent creature comforts as electricity and water are made readily available to them for a price, as are the flesh and souls of those unfortunate enough to be captured and forced into their servitude. Those unfortunate enough to find themselves of poor breeding or social class are open game for masters looking for free help, or pets for whatever their nefarious needs must be met. Some prefer to do the dirty work themselves- relishing in the hunt for their prey, while others prefer to take easier routes by taking advantage of Bounty Hunters and the booming slave trade. Life of the lower class is a walking hell, while the lives of the rich masters is one of comfort and luxury.

Perhaps the world isn’t so different after all...
