The Gorillaz are 2D, Murdoc, Russel and Noodle, four animated musicians who have somehow managed to come together and make great music despite how incredibly different they are. 2D is the "pretty boy" lead singer/keyboard player, a bit dim witted but easy to love. Murdoc Niccals is the bassist and the band's resident egotistical Satanist badass responsible for the creation of the band in the first place. Russel Hobbs is the ex-possessed (see first album) drummer from the US who seems to spend a good deal of time keeping 2D and Murdoc in line. Last but most definately not least is Noodle who is quite possibly the glue that holds the band together both music wise and sanity wise. She's the young and incredibly talented guitarist who I can't even begin to describe here. Together these unlikely friends form one of the most amazing (and only) animated bands of our time: The Gorillaz.
