Top Fishers was a series of threads dating back to the end of January, 2005. It grew month after month, quickly becoming the hotspot for most of the current month's trophy fishers. As time went on, it grew from just an update and chat thread to a hall of fame, contests center, information center, support system, and most importantly, the family community it is today.
On August 10th, 2005, the Top Fishers thread located in what was then the Fishing Forum was reported for over 10 pages of non-fish talk, and moved, eventually landing in the Friend's Chat Subforum. It was then that we truly learned that TF had outgrown the thread. This guild was purchased from an existing TFer, and Logan began her work on it immediately. Since then TF has continually grown, putting out very near 1,000 posts per day, with more members joining weekly.
Unfortunately, as most things must, Top Fishers has dwindled, and on April 27th, 2015 Logan v2.0 announced that the monthly threads would no longer continue. After just over a decade of being a hub for the Fishing Community, it was time for Top Fishers to step aside.
Likewise, with the absence of the monthly threads, the guild's activity declined. As such, it has been cleared out to remove any personal information of members posted over time, and will eventually be fully closed down. Thank you all for the wonderful times we've had. We hope that you continue to enjoy Fishing for the rest of your time on Gaia.
