The world has grown dull. All the edges of the map have been filled in. Pollution has taken a more toxic hold on our pathetic planet now brown with death and disease. But the governments of all the surviving nations could take this no more. They created a fleet of ships that would take a crew of the best scientific minds, governmental heads, and the deepest pocketed investors.

The ships were completed. Crude vessels, but vessels to salvation none the less. So the crew boarded the ships and left their home that was rotting under their feet. Heading deep into space to find a new planet for the human race to call their own.

And indeed what a find. Their ship landed on such a lush planet. Pure jungle all around them. And they established themselves, making a clearing, then a small station, until finally they had a whole base of operations in a large clearing. It was almost a field, a testament to how many trees they had cleared. But their actions did not go unnoticed.

The natives watched, questioning their ways. They did not understand why these newcomers must cut down their trees, why they must hunt their game, and reside in a hive of metal.

Said natives were successful in staying hidden, observing these odd beings, until they started to explore the forest in depth. The observers had to retreat back to their own home, hidden behind a great waterfall which fed a pool harboring a vicious whirlpool.

One day, a human came across the fall and pool, sitting down to rest. And he was about to enjoy his lunch when he found himself surrounded by strange creatures. Humanoid above the waist, animal below. They spoke to him in an odd language, pointing spears at him. It was a good thing they let him run.

Or not. The man went back to the base of the humans and told everyone about the strange beings he encountered.

And this is where our story shall begin. What will the scientists do? The governors? Or those power-hungry investors? All is up to you as a soldier in our literate army. Help us weave this fabric of time into a tapestry for the ages to enjoy.
