upgranding rings

is there anything i am missing here. i want to upgrade my 'Guns, Guns, Guns' but it wont let me at all. i have 26 change orbs in my loot but i can use them. the upgrade button doesn't work too btw.

Having a glitch where it shows your counter is 0 in the header?
1) Exit Null Chamber
2) Refresh zOMG
3) ???
4) Profit
5) Re-enter Null Chamber
6) Upgrade ring to at least 2.1 for quest to register complete
