2017 - The year I realize that Gaia is the home of the weird people on the internet.
Where weebs unite.
Where there's pixel hungry people.
Where there's those who want creepy art of their pixels.
I'm so glad I left for 3 years.
But then came back to zOMG! coming out of retirement.
Yet there's still all the mega weirdos.
Especially those who want a lot of pixel currency. Where that currency doesn't mean anything or has an absolute use. I can't even wrap my head around why people crave a load of pixel currency.
Reduce gold on everything back to the old days.
No one needs gold for anything and if they want something, they should work for it.
Reduce gold in LK mainly. zOMGs, what, 2 bil allowance is good enough even though I don't even play it much anymore nor have a need for gold but economy wise, we've got too much gold going around. It's kind of stupid, really.
That one pixel currency hungry person will try to tell me otherwise, early reply to you: how important is that pixel currency to you?
No really, give me a good reason. If your reason is because you want to see a big number or feel wealthy even though in reality it means nothing, you're working towards nothing.

Not important enough to be in your grill worrying about your pixels...

Yeah I'm aware about what my mass of pixels is wearing but these were things I wanted when either zOMG shut down or when I returned. Pretty much, like most girls, they'll pick out the things they like and stick to it. So, occasionally, there's something I like, whether on Gaia or the real world, and if I can afford it, I'll get it.
Yet regarding to the things I own, I'm well aware some of them are expensive, some are new but I'm not working towards any new items, meaning, I'm recycling old items I have that are not being used in order to afford anything, if I want anything.

When people come to the forums and start boohooing about high prices, go look in their stores and see what they're charging for their stuff. When people whine about others being "pixel hungry," go check out their wish list... wink
Considering this: the reasoning for my wishlist is to be a reference for items if I want to check back and find them if I can't put the name on it. But in the reality of things, most people have a wishlist because they want something, working towards it, or they use it for a reminder thing. For an example, I can't just search for an SDPlus doll without being greeted with pages upon pages of user-dolls, so when I find it, I throw it into my wishlist to go back to if I need it. Same applies to the Star Wars related items, since, when I returned, I hadn't seen them before and wanted to have something quick to look to.
Concerning other people, I'd like to note that some probably haven't looked at their wishlists in a long time, or maybe the one's who are 'boo-hooing' (really don't know which people are) want a fair payout throughout all the games. Which is a really good idea especially if you put the real world into this site, for an example: the cost of university.
Back in 1970, it cost around $1,561 for four-year private institution. Now that it's 2017 and also regarding different courses, the average for four-years and then some, is roughly $40,000. Quoting an article from 2010 that is still relevant:
Quote:
Tuition has indeed far outpaced inflation. Since the early 1980s, tuition has increasingly
risen faster than the rate of inflation (Figure 2). This is equally true for public and private
four-year colleges and universities and also two-year community colleges. In 1970, the
average yearly tuition was $358 for public four-year institutions and $1,561 for four-year
private institutions. In 2010, the average tuition was $6,695 for public and $21,908 for
private four-year colleges and universities. If public tuition had simply climbed with the rate
of inflation, it would have been $2,052 in 2010. By that same measure, Emory’s current
tuition would then be $11,921.

Inflation is a real problem both in the site and in reality. Obviously, there's not much I can do or say in the real world to change that so I expect prices to either rise or become stable at some point but the former is to be more likely.
But concerning the website, inflation to come to a slow crawl if games are nerfed in gold, because they did do that before in zOMG when they saw too much gold being circulated in the site, that was in 2011. Fast-forward to 6 years later, of course, they kept the nerf but upped the amount you can earn to approximately 2bil. A fair amount to those who need to save up for the things they want.
To note another thing, they also nerfed the Aquariums booty grab back in 2011 as well. It was a huge problem with inflation since people with aquariums posted in a forum where you simply clicked on a glow link to play their aquarium, usually fitted with the best fish with highest/best payouts, and earn a lot of gold via that method. I should know, I used that method for gold when I needed it. Keep note, that's what I did in the time period of 2011-2012 and afterwards I stuck to zOMG but also moved to a slight hiatus on the site to play other games.
Now concerning LK, sure it's a cute game and sure you can make a load of gold by playing it after a few hours, but, like the aforementioned zOMG and Aquariums, it needs a nerf. If the devs realized that gold was being added to the site in an increasing rate and came to the conclusion that they should nerf zOMG and Booty Grab to slow it down drastically, then it should be done to LK as well. And like others have probably mentioned before, it wouldn't be the end of the world. You'll still be able to make gold, just not as much. Say, you're given the allowance of 5bil - 7bil a day, per character/account, that would still be pretty good gold in all honesty and if you add in the approximate allowance from zOMG of 2bil, it would all add up in the end.
Fast-forward to if they do that, which is a really big if, things in the market will fluctuate a lot. People might panic at the thought of not being able to make a lot of gold anymore, start throwing expensive items out into the marketplace to try and make something off of them. Depending on the item, it could be a popular item or a rare item, if the number is listings go up, the prices will decrease due to those who undercut. Eventually, the prices will come to a stable number, much like they were pre-zOMG days, where the gold circulating then was growing in a very slow crawl.
But since the gold generators were released a few years ago and rigs became steady upon release, gold has increased dramatically. Consider this thought, when I left the site I thought that having 5bil was a lot, stuff was still selling for 100k/50mil and starting to sell higher for the billions. I came back with that mindset since I wasn't exactly around to witness/watch the growth of gold and I was in slight shock that everything jumped so much.
Now fast-forward to the present, gold is still being pumped into the sites economy at a rate I can't really define where it might get to the point where we might have to use quadrillion and I really hope we don't get to that point. It's either nerf the games to help stabilize the site and make it fair game for all or to say to hell with it and just leave everything be. I don't know, maybe there's more people who want to leave LK as is than there are those who wish LK to be nerfed like everything else was.
