A'ight. I was told to post here then.

So the basic gist of it is, I use Linux to do my major computing/gaming/internet browsing/whatever. And I recently got re-addicted to Gaia because a friend of mine told me to play zOMG.

zOMG worked wonderfully for me for a time... but that's just because I was using windows Vista. (to quote a new friend... Vista *stabstab* ) When I was finally freed from Windows Vista (wireless on Linux. yay! whee ) I found that zOMG kept timing out, and would not work. crying I was wondering if it was a linux problem. (Likely because someone in my other post was having the same problems on the same OS, and Mac seems to work fine) *fistshake*

So I wanna know is, is it a setting i can change, is it a problem with my OS, or is zOMG just hating Linux. In which case.. *pulls out a picket sign* STOP THE INEQUALITY!!! END TO OS-ISM TODAY!!!

*marches in circles with a cause* whee

What kind of Linux do you use? Makes me wanna get out my machine, hook it up, and see if I can make it work...
I'm still pretty amateur on Linux though... have you got all the Flash updates and stuff? I think you'll want Flash 10.

Yup. Got it.

Dapper Phantom

I got out my Linux machine (which runs Ubuntu 7.something I think), installed Flash, and am having the same issues.
So, I'm not really sure. Could be an OS thing, but I haven't heard much from other Linux users...

Well.....urrr Flash 9 really works better. Qixter said so in a post and I switched back. It runs a whole lot better. I can't help with the other sorry.

Dapper Phantom

Really? I'll see if I can find that.

Dapper Phantom

Woot woot, that fixed it right up.

What I did (again I'm on Ubuntu, not sure how different the distros are, I'm still a Linux n00b):
Went to this page and downloaded Flash 9, non debug version.
I extracted the file it downloaded and installed "flashplayer9r159_linux.tar.gz" from the folder "9r159", which I'm assuming is the most current version of Flash 9.

Here's a handy tool to see which version you're currently running.
I hope this helps :D

Another fail for Flash 10...

Dapper Phantom

Yay! Glad you got it working. :3
Now to wonder if Flash 9 will perform better on my Windows laptop...

Oki that's messed. How is it working for everyone else? Cause I gotta re-install it each time I turn my comp back on before zOMG will play for me.

I've played it in Xubuntu just fine...

The only problem I could see one having is that Adobe isn't free software therefore doesn't come on the CD.

Free software is software that gives you the user the freedom to share, study and modify it. We call this free software because the user is free.

I meant free as in free speech, rather than free as in "free beer".
