It is not yet that time. :/
He disappeared from the map at 23:30 at least. And Caroling itself is still up the last time I checked (a few minutes ago). When I go into the Shops, I still get the "Go find Santa" message right now @ 23:44 PST.

I was looking for him at 23:24.

First Gaia reset my collection after the shirt, so I have duplicates of the first three items (cap, mittens, shirt) and none of the last three (boots, cape, lantern). Boy that is a rotten glitch. cry

I searched from 11:32 until 11:53pm PST. I could have been in ZOMG or pool or any of a half dozen places instead of uselessly searching for Santa. burning_eyes

I think I may have heard about some sort of glitch that was causing him to disappear temporarily from the map. I don't remember exactly what the glitch situation was, though. But it might not have been deliberate. ...Anyways, he's still there at Port of Gambino http://www.gaiaonline.com/worldmap/?m=4 right now 6 minutes beyond the announced cut-off point and caroling is still active right now beyond it, as well! So maybe the system is going to make up for the mistake...

ooh that could be it. Let me count... exclaim Aah yeah! So that's why. Thanks for the tip Reddel. Bummer, can't hold onto any to sell in the future.. sad

Edit: Not to mention I feel bad for anyone who would want to purchase them in the future. I don't normally purchase event items myself, but the only one I have bought is the Spirited 2k6 scarf because for some reason I wasn't around for the event and it is super cute! So I know how it is to be bummed if you miss an event, but now there probably won't be many on the MP unless people sell the ones off their backs. (Honeslty maybe they will. I'm not crazy about the set this year).

.....ok I forgot I bought the 2k6 boots to. But you gotta have matching boots with your scarf!

Edit to add: I kept checking and caroling itself was still phasing off for approx. 20 minutes after the hour, but that element appears to have finally turned completely off now inside the Shops. It gave my last carol grant at around 19 minutes after the hour. At the moment (34 min after the hour), Santa is still around for people to claim from, though. ^_^

You can get more than 1 set of things when Gaia glitches you eek .

I got 1 set of the first 3 items, THEN Gaia glitched me and sent me back to the beginning.

So, I got another set of the first 3 and only managed to get the pants and boots before they shut down the search for Santa.

In fact, I should have had enough time to find all of the items if Santa hadn't glitched completely off my map sometime between 11:20 and 11:32 pm.

SO I know you can get TWO sets of some things and NONE of others.
